#14124405 Walmart YMMV In Store Clearance Thread I (READ THE FAQs)

Posted by husher on 30 January 2019 - 12:53 PM

But seriously, I will say it's always disappointing when I see this topic at the top of the page and of course I hope we're about ready to start another nice round of clearance...and...yeah...nope.

I feel the same way when someone bumps the thread to whine about the deals others are posting.

i never seen a target that put their games that neat

It's Shipwreck's store.  It starts out a mess like every other store, but after he browses he helps them organize.

Not a bad price on Starlink for those that still have GCU. Anyone played this game? Debating grabbing it.

I got my son a copy for the Switch and me one for the Xbox for Xmas.  We have fun playing co-op on the Xbox and playing solo on our own systems.  Plenty of stuff to do in the game though not very challenging...on par with Lego and Skylander games.  I've always been a sucker for spaceship games, so I have fun just playing.

The thing we like the most are the toys.  My son never played with the Skylander or Infinity toys as just toys.  To us, they were just little statues, not action figures.  But the ships are cool and you can swap out pilots, guns, and wings too.

My only complaint is the mount that sits on the controller as it makes things a bit cramped.  I use a stick extender on my controller usually, but I have to remove it when playing because it hits the mount.  The ships are pretty big too so they add weight.  However, you can just plug everything in one time and the game will let you play them digitally for a week.

I bought at $35 plus GCU, so I paid $28 and don't regret it.

Edit: Just bought the last two pilots we didn't have for $4.63 total including tax.  Store pick up knocks a dollar off each starlink item.  $4 after 50% off, $3.19 after GCU, $2.19 after pick up discount.

Uni-kitty blind bags have hit a $1 at some Walmarts.

(Only posting this to see if GG rants cause I remember him saying how he already got most of them.)

Some people prefer a physical copy instead of digital air.

So do I.  I own every Forza game for the Xbox on disc...except for Forza Horizon 4 because I'm playing the Fuck out of it using game pass.

I didn't make the post to start a physical vs. digital or Sony vs. Microsoft debate.  I posted it to point out another cost effective way to play the game.

Found Overwatch sets out at Walmart at the cheaper prices.  Boy was happy to grab a couple.  They also had Lego Movie 2 sets out at cheaper than MSRP.  Both were in cardboard displays and not the usual Lego aisle.

Happy hunting.

Nice deal for Hellblade.  Was not expecting that to go on sale so soon.  It comes with a slipcover so if you do store pickup there's a good chance the slipcover gets ruined by the store pick up sticker.  Happened to me at launch (luckily they were able to exchange it for another copy).

Free with Game Pass.  Just sayin.

Bought my son the Super Hot VR bundle for Xmas.  He calls for me today to come watch something he's doing, and as I'm standing next to him he swings his arm out and hits me in the giggle berries.  This thing is going back asap.

Target started Lego clearance today too.

Some stores reorganized their book sections months ago to accommodate more toy displays.  This included Architecture sets, Technic sets, and Elves sets.  About half the Technic and Architecture sets went to 50% off while all the Elves sets did.

Then there are a bunch of random sets on clearance in the regular Lego aisle.

And a big shout out to the asshole who filled his cart with every clearance Architecture set in my store this morning...not that I would have bought them even at 50% off, but still, Fuck you.  You were headed towards the Elves when I left and they were all gone by the afternoon when I came back.  Not sure if you got them too, but Fuck you again, just in case.

Happy New Year!

Walmart started Lego clearance already.

Picked up the SW Solo train thing for $54.

Not listing anything as the prices were all over the place on random sets...just giving a heads up to check your stores sooner rather than later!

Razer Kraken 7.1 headphones 207-28-1317  $50 from $100

#14102920 Starlink Ships, Pilots, and Weapons 50% off at BB - GCU applies too

Posted by husher on 13 December 2018 - 05:04 AM

The page says BOGO 50% , but all the prices are  50% off no matter how many you purchase.  GCU applies for an additional 20% off. And switching to in store pick up knocks another buck off each item.

I got the ships for $9 each and the weapons packs for $3 each after all the discounts.
