Right now is one of the worst times in history to spend a good amount of money on an enthusiast grade graphics card.  There's going to be a giant leap forward when the RTX 3000 series comes out and the high-end cards are going to instantly lose about 40-50% of their value.

Save $500-700 till the end of the year if you're in the market for something high-end.  They are likely to become available around September, give or take a month.

Thanks, good to know. I have a GTX 1060 stuffed into an 8-year-old pre-built Dell computer. I've finally reached the point where the motherboard is making future upgrades more difficult. I'm trying to migrate over from consoles, so now that the 1060 has given me a decent taste of PC gaming, I'd like to build an actual "gaming PC" that's futureproofed a bit more.

My time spent in quarantine due to work at home orders has sparked a heavy interest in building a new PC. I'd say it's justified.

Those of you still getting into Doom Eternal, some tips:

1. Use your upgrade shards to expand ammo, at least 3/4 of the way, if not fully upgraded. You'll need it for number 2.

2. Once you get the Super Shotgun, upgrade it. Immediately. When fully upgraded, it provides health and ammo for kills. It eats ammo quickly, but using the chainsaw when you're low works just fine.

3. Focus on upgrading your grenades, too, with the suit tokens. The first one should be giving you two grenades before they recharge. Fully upgraded grenades clean house and stagger enemies they don't kill.

4. In general, mastering weapon mods is to your benefit, and the game is pretty generous with the upgrade points as long as you spend them wisely.

5. Much like Ori, exploration is rewarded, and the map marks all the secrets as you come within a few feet of them. The game wants you to find them, it's often a matter of finding the secret entrance or how to scale a structure that provides the challenge. If you don't collect crystals / batteries / suit tokens / mod upgrades / etc. you'll be worse for it. Check your map often.

I fell into a rhythm last night with the Super Shotgun and finished a Slayer Gate I assumed would just demolish me. Now my biggest concern is not playing for a week and forgetting how to do all this shit.

I used my upgrade shards to complete the Exploration category right off the bat because I hate backtracking for collectibles. Maybe that's why I'm getting my ass kicked so badly on Hurt Me Plenty.

Considering it's a gamepass release I definitely don't think it'll be DOA. My friends and I played the beta. I thought it was okay, but my friends absolutely loved it. I know they're super excited to get back on it. I'll be playing too though not likely as much as them

Thanks. I actually didn't realize it was a Game Pass game, I'm sure that'll help with the population a bit.

Anyone picking up Bleeding Edge? I enjoyed the beta, but I feel like it's going to be overlooked and DOA. Doom Eternal's multiplayer leaves a bit to be desired and I need a multiplayer pick-me-up.
