Here's another vote for BBY's incompetence. I preordered The Last of Us back in March but became suspicious when I didn't receive an email this morning about my preorder. Turns out my preorder was messed up in their system somehow so I called in to the Premier RZ phone support and they confirmed my preorder but had no idea why I didn't even receive an email about the game. Now I'm off to see if they have my copy...

 
make sure they don't charge you for the privlage of buying the content you pre ordered too,  I am contemplating canceling my GTA V pre order with them at this point

Just order GTA V online with in-store pickup and you'll have zero problems. Unless you order the special edition, then there might be. But hey, BB will make up for it by sending it to you for free AND they'll throw a gift card your way for good measure! Isn't that awesome and amazing!?..BTW, I hope everyone who got the survival edition for free gets hit with the yellow light of death somehow. Just kidding...(no I'm not) :lol:

 
After talking to them on the phone they basically told me oh well, to bad. Said since the item is no longer on the website they can do nothing to try and send one to the store for me to pick up and pay for.

I asked to at least get the DLC code but they also told me nope, sorry, you only get that when you pick the game up. Im like, oh, you mean the game you JUST told me I can't pick up?

In the end, they offered me a $20 gift card. Trying on the forums now to see if they can do anything about getting a copy to the store or at the very least to please try and get me a DLC code.

 
Hearing all these problems makes me so sad for the future of Best Buy :( I'm sorry to all cags who ran into order issues. My online in-store pickup pre-order of my survival edition could not have gone more smoothly. A really fantastic game. Naughty Dog is one hell of a developer.

Same exact thing happened to me today, Took me 35+ mins with 2 different employees and a manager to get through it. They're preorder system is so messed up now and even worse that they removed the gaming desk so I was just standing at CS with workers that had no idea about games and preorders. The manager was being a total ass to me giving me attitude and saying "If you want the preorder BONUS, its 5$ extra..." HOW IS THAT A BONUS? WTFFFF. At the end of it all the girl couldn't figure it out and just price adjusted $5 and handed me the game with $5 and change...which I didnt even pay for yet cause the first guy wrung me up and didnt take the money once I pointed out the preorder bonus glitch. I couldve just walked out But being the honest saint that I am, I let her know cause I didn't want her to lose her job. Thats my vent...now time to play.

Same here, except I was lucky enough to have the ex-gaming rep (who works in cell phones now) close enough by to overhear and tell the c.s. gal how little sense it made. Still took about 30 minutes to sort it out though. First and last time I preorder in store.

Same thing here, but mine was quick, had the same girl that I usually pick up preorders from, and she had it solved really quick. And I still got my Pre order bonus emailed to me, just in case any one was worried about it.

unless you can find a store that has extra copies that are not reserved for preorders/ that are not picked up from preorders in 7 days. You are out of luck, because if the website is out of stock. THere is nothing they can do.

The glitch has been fixed already, it was server side, so the 1.01 patch was not the main issue.

 
Add me to the list of people that had trouble at the register.  Picking up preorders is such a hassle.  Without post price match, I ask myself everytime is it worth it...

Let's go down the roster...

Metal Gear - never posted to RZ in 35 days, had to call in to get $20 manually added, months later the real $20 + normal points posted

Crysis - same story as Metal Gear

GoW - didn't register; returned it later; bought at Target

Gears - same story GoW; returned it same day; bought at Target

Bioshock - gave me 2 $20 reward bonuses

Last of Us - to be seen; hassle at the register

So Tomb Raider was the only one that I didn't have a problem... 1/7 is a very poor statistic. 

Sad thing... I had better luck with the system when they first started than I do now.  Even sadder... Gamestop has had a working preorder system for countless years prior to Best Buy doing preorders on games. 

There is no way Best Buy continues this promotion.  Too much hassle on them and us. 

 
Picked up my Last of Us Preorder today.  Dear god, it is always such a huge hastle when I preorder there.  I am a Gamer Unlocked and I only do it for the $20 gift card.

They wanted to charge me the $5 for the preorder, but I paid $25 already to preorder it.  Then, the Code to redeem my preorder goodies didn't print on my receipt.  Now I have to contact them, AGAIN, to let them know I didn't get my stuff and I want to make sure I get the $20 gift card in 30 days from now.

I thought they updated the system to make this easier, but it is such a pain.  When I picked up Far Cry 3, they did the same thing, and told me I would get an email with the goodies, a week later, I had to email Customer Service and they said they entered the pick up in wrong.

Here we are again, and they have done the same thing.  So frustrating, but I would be even more pissed if it was the Limited Survival Edition.  I am so sorry for the trouble they have put you guys through.

I received an email w/ the Sights and Sounds Pack about an hour after I picked up my pre-order.

They were trying to charge me the $5 I had already paid as well.

 
All of you guys having issues, should report it to the Best Buy forums. If you guys just call customer service it will never be fixed. The employees that work on the forum are from corporate and they have the ability get things addressed in your local store and in the pre-order system.

 
I pre-ordered Last of Us in store on 6/11 and picked up today. 

Should there be some mention of the $20 RZ bonus on either receipt? I haven't done this since Black Ops 2 so I cannot recall if it showed on my receipt then or not.

It won't show on the receipt, you need to wait for the transaction to show on your RZ account. It should be there within a day or two as pending.

Uh oh.  I think I may have issues with this one.

I just looked at my RZ account.  The first transaction shows 1092 points pending (1000 bonus and 46 paid in cash).  Then there's a second transaction that shows The Last of Us with -80 points.  The girl tried charging me the extra $5 that I had put down when I pre-ordered.  She must have done a return/rebuy so I could get the $5 back.  Now I'm looking at -80 RZ points and probably going to lose that 1000 as well.

Anyone else ever have this issue?

On top of not knowing how to do the pre-order, she took probably 6-7 phone calls while checking me out.  I was in there for around 40 minutes, where every other time I'm in and out in 5 minutes.

I am also in the mix regarding the Last of Us Survival Edition going AWOL.  My local store received 4 copies and promptly placed them on the shelf & sold them all before I arrived.  What kills me too is that they actually checked me out without securing the game first, so I had to go through the hassle of returning it afterwards.  

They were willing to give me a 'deal' on the standard edition, but I declined so I could post on the BB forums again for resolution.  I'm hoping they can either secure the Survival Edition through the proper channels or at least provide the funds for the difference so I can buy it off of eBay.  

To add insult to injury, the clerk did not refund my $5 preorder amount either.     fuck

If I preorder two copies of the same game and pick them up on release week, I would assume I get the $20 rz cert twice, correct?
 
I feel like BestBuy and I have a love/hate relationship. I enjoy shopping there, but I always seem to have trouble when it comes to trade ins/bonuses/promotions/etc. They screwed me out of $50 bucks on my Mobile Freedom promo in the beginning of the year.

So I went to BB at 10am to grab my LOU:SE so I could get some time in before work. The first thing that happens is that they didn't have my copy set aside. It was actually on the floor to be sold, so I had to snatch it up before someone else did. I was the only person who pre-ordered at my store, so there was only one copy. For the next two hours we try to get it to ring up in the system, lo and behold there is a company wide issue with the Survival Edition. They cancel my preorder/post void it...etc. At one point, one of the girls just wanted to give me the game for free. Their end solution was to have me buy a gift card for the amount of the game which they would hold on to until they resolve the issue. I was going to do this, however they wanted to ring me up for the game and the survival edition separately, I tried to explain to them that the game was inside the survival edition box....they would not listen. I leave empty handed and they hold it for me to come back and grab once they figure out the issue.

At around 12:15 I call BB,com to get help resolving the issue and to ask about alternative ways to buy the game. They give me a $20 certificate for gas/2+hours wasted. Nothing else is resolved. At 1:15 BB calls me and they tell me to come back because they figured it out. I also had a B2G1 coupon with Black ops 2 and Injustice up at the counter. I get there and she has everything scanned in and ready for my payment. I add a copy of Arkham City GOTY to the mix and pay for my items. The total came out to $150+tax. She rang me up for Last of Us Survival at full price, made another copy of Last of Us $0.00, Black ops was $60?, Injustice was free, and AC was 9.99. I felt somewhat bad that they kind of gave me a "free" game, but after having 4 different people tell me I was wrong about the game being in the box, wasting 4 hours between driving back and forth, and being screwed over before, I just took my games and left.

From now on I am doing online preorders. I still cherish BB and all of its little faults.

Miiiiight want to go back in tomorrow... Black ops 2 is NOT $60... NEW it is $30 on the website, they just haven't updated the price in their system probably to reflect the sale price. Go in tomorrow tell them to check the site for the price, and thats $30 back. You only should of paid $120. Also I said it a while ago, stop doing pre-order's in store, The inevitable %&$# up is just not worth the convenience. Do it online because that way it will end up with the in store pick up item's (or shipped to you). If you wanna avoid the recurring charge just buy a giftcard with the fund's on it, and use that for the purchase.

Yeah I realized I overpaid on bo2, but I'm assuming it's cause I bought the revolution one. I'll consider the price as half of my free last of us. I need a break from the boys in blue after yesterday.

I've gotten mine normally on time, sometimes even a bit early. I'd click the tracking a few times.... (Maybe the reference id is timing out) seriously after the 4th time it showed that copy of LOU would arrive next Thursday :/ when before it was just "Not Available".

One per reward zone account. Some folks use multiple rz accounts for this promo.

Looks like I'll be calling support for my monies then. The store manager told me otherwise, which is why I preordered LoU at best buy and had my friend's preorder copies on my account since I was the only one with unlocked.

Well my tracking number for Last of Us finally registers.  It was suppost to be shipped on on the 10.  But the fuck thing wasn't shipped out until today, which is why their wasn't any tracking info until now.  My estimated delivery date is the freaking 27th, which it is probably since it's on the otherside of the country sitting in a drop facility.

My copy of the last of us is supposed to arrive on Thursday... If I go to BB and pick up a copy there, but hold on to the receipt, would I be able to return my new copy that arrives on Thursday and play the copy I pick up today?
