7/2 - 7/8 ... Ultimate Games Persistent Sales:

* =  Want to Buy Games On Demand Using Microsoft Points? [customspoiler="GonD with MSP"]
Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

On Xbox.com they've made it much more obvious, the confirmation "extra step" pop-up after clicking the download link displays a link that simply says "Use Microsoft Points" directly under the price in dollars at the top of the page.

The more you know....[/customspoiler]

Cannot remember but was the Orange Box $10 at the March sale? Bought it then so that figures it goes lower. Great deal if you do not have it.

Anybody that signed up for the World of Tanks beta should check their email, as codes went out today. It's 1.1 GB big for those with space issues.
Havent gotten mine yet. I got an email about Ascend but not for World of Tanks. Hoping I can get an email as I am looking forward to playing it.

Both L4D2 and the Orange Box were $10

Orange Box was a steal at $10, now at $5 you'd be insane not to buy it. Unless of course you already have them on PC/bought them before or It's not your cup of tea.

I was wrong. They weren't done with the $5 games. Color me shocked.

BUY THE ORANGE BOX IT'S ONLY FIVE BUCKS AND YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE

/caps

  •  Can't wait for Gears Judgement or Metal Gear Rising: Revengence to drop in price. If anyone is 1200/$15 or cheaper then I am buying it. One of those will be my last Xbox 360 game I will play until next year probably.

Does the games on demand version of Witcher 2 lack anything in the physical package? If not I'll buy this and sell my new copy too. Haven't gotten to it yet :D

Uhmm i don't know... When i think of a game that Microsoft could easily give away in its Games with Gold promotion, the only one that comes to my mind is The Orange Box. I'll pass on it, already have portal, only i'm interested.

Brothers in Arms and Bulletstorm have been fixed back to the sale price.

Max Payne 3 is still $10 from the one day only sale, not sure when that will be fixed but if you missed out, you got another chance.

I seem to recall getting a "deluxe" package and some sort of map as well as a sound track in it. The game was two discs, always curious to how those worked with games on demand titles. Also curious as to how Mass Effect 2 and ME3 are not on Games on Demand yet.

CS told me the console itself is covered for the year. HD is a separate accessory that is only apparently covered for 3 months. It's utter BS, because now I have no way of playing the games I just bought until I buy another HD.

And I started noticing my 360 taking forever to boot recently and slowing down big time while I was playing a downloaded game. All of the sudden it just wouldn't boot past the 360 logo until I took the HD out, at which point the xbox functions normally.
How did CS work out for you?

Sometimes I think there's something wrong with me.  Bought Prey and am gonna buy The Orange Box.  2 games I've already owned and played but back then I didn't care about achievements so those low scores have been staring at me for years.

That makes no sense. When you buy new hard drives, warranties are at least 1 year. Usually, they're 2-5 years. I wouldn't stand for it. Also, if you bought it with a credit card, and it has extended warranty, you can maybe circumvent Microsoft's shitty customer service and just file a claim with them?

Gears of War Judgment is down to $40, first game to not be at least 50% off?
Edit: Or was it this price to start with?

Gears was always 40 bucks.  You guys think there is any chance that Hitman, Metal Gear, Bioshock, or Gears goes down to 10 bucks?  That would be sweet!

So Hasbro Family Game Night 3 includes The Game of Life, Clue (my favorite board game next to Monopoly), Twister, Mouse Trap, and Yahtzee Hands Down. Are any of these fun to play on XBox?

What is The Witcher 2 like (and don't say Witcher 1)?

Disappointed that Bulletstorm's sale expired. Sounds like I better download WWE '13 now to be on the safe side.

I hope Bioshock Infinite is $20 or less. I'm also happy that Assassin's Creed 2 is the next free game.

Oh, my bad then. I figured they would have put it at $60.

They brought it back down to $5, or at least that's what the website currently says.

Family Game Night 3 was a blast to play online. However, I am pretty sure EA shut down the servers for it.

Ah, yes they did. Thanks.

How does it fare in one player mode? I never played The Game of Life in any form and Clue sounds like fun.

I already have Portal on PC, as XBLA and on the Orange Box..and played through all of these...I can't say why but it was just too fun =P also since TF2 never got an update on the xbox I "finished" that one long ago too...only thing I need to play further, is half life but man, I really don't like the game it's boring and tedious and I was half through the game back then...hum

Witcher 2 is $10?  Fuuuuu....this sale is killing me!  Every day I'm spending around 15 or $20.  I might have to bite on Witcher and Orange box.

I'm a big fan of Clue myself. I enjoy it single player. TGoL is also decent fun. Mouse Trap, however, isn't really any fun to me.

Wow, that's quite the wrong answer.

If the drive came with the slim, it's covered under the slim system's warranty. If the drive is a separate accessory, such as a purchased 320GB drive with a 4GB slim, then the drive isn't covered by the slim's warranty, it's covered by the 3 month accessory warranty. This would also apply the controller that came with the system, it's covered by the slim's warranty. Purchased separately, three month warranty.

"HDD are considered wearable"? Is that even English?
My wife wears HDD...

I bought The Orange Box the last time it was on sale for 800 points, and finally got around to playing through it last month.

Portal of course is incredible and worth the price of admission alone.

Half-Life 2 I'd never played before - I was in grad school when it came out and had taken a break from video games. It has aged okay but not great. It's certainly primitive by today's standards and the storytelling is not as compelling as I'd hoped. I'm not sure why your character is a scientist when you don't do any actual science and are essentially a super-soldier one-man-army like in every other FPS. Also, I had forgotten how long games used to be. Good lord, I was ready for it to be over about 10 hours in and it just kept going.

All of that said, it's still enjoyable, as are the two expansions (which are real expansions, unlike much of today's DLC). It's fun sometimes to take a break from today's open-world games and play through a straightforward linear shooter.

Team Fortress 2 I can't comment on since I don't play multiplayer, but I did boot it up for a minute just to see what it was about, and there seemed to be plenty of people still playing it. Predictably I had no idea what was going on and quit out after a minute. But it does seem to still be popular, if you're concerned about being able to find a game.
