There are quite a few free and free2play games and mods on steam. You can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam's a digital retailer. You don't get physical copies from them.

You can make physical back-ups if you want to, though. :D

Steam doesn't sell physical products. It is not a brick & mortar store like Best Buy; or a place sells physical products and has warehouse(s) like Amazon.

Of course, I think most of us here probably don't buy physical PC games much from Amazon, anymore - since they also have digital store to, where Tony and his Amazon DVG crew can work some magical deals.

I didn't... I've actually never played it even though I know its historical significance... I'm tempted even though its not the biggest discount. Can anyone tell me how it plays on Wins 7?

Also I saw no one get excited over the Mount and Blade daily deal from yesterday... Does everyone just have it by now or is it just not that great or just not people's cup of tea?

Edit: Not to distract from my questions... but did any of you all catch the PC horror game special that Conan did for Clueless Gamer? I might be the best so far... (Though Tomb Raider still ranks the best so far.)

already have it, about 95% of the daily deals I already have, so not much excitement here about them.

I already bought Mount/Blade from gamestop, actually. It was on sale a few months ago for the complete collection for like 6.25 or something like that. Can't say much about Windows 7, but I have Windows 8 and SS2 runs perfectly on it. So I don't see why 7 would give it any problems. I haven't heard anybody complaining that it doesn't run well, I don't think it's something you need to worry about. If you want to play it , I'd buy it. It'll only cost you an extra 83 cents than it would if you had bought it earlier...but at the same time, if you're not planning on playing it REALLY soon, just wait. It'll probably get down to 2.50 again in the winter sale.

Edit: If you get it from jakenome, he has it for 3 bucks right now. I wish I could convert my gabenbux to jakenomebux. I don't see why I should ever buy anything from Steam again when I can get it even cheaper. From a panda that can use a computer, no less.

It's the GOG version and has been all pimped out to work on modern OSs. Worked without a hitch on 7 for me (haven't tried 8, but that's not particularly relevant anyway) ^_^

I know what you mean... I normally would jump through hoops to get a deal on cards like Vince is offering... but I don't see myself buying through Steam themselves anytime soon. I do wonder if it would be smart to pick up 30 dollars worth for the flash sales during the holidays. (I suspect some of them will be too quick for me the Panda and I to communicate effectively.)

As for SS2 (and the Mount and Blade Collection for that matter) it would likely go into the backlog... I need to get a gaming keypad as I both suck at WASD base games (lack of practice) and holding my left hand in the right position caused discomfort for me. (Its either a lack of doing or my low level carpal getting the best of me.)

Mostly, I'm looking at the Razer Orbweaver since it seems to be the one with the most chance of being a good fit... (Its got a number of ergonomic options to try.)

The scary thing is I just traded in 11 360/PS3 games for 150 dollars.

I was thinking the same thing. I love the excitement of the steam sales anyway, so I don't mind shopping through the store for the big holiday sales that have dailys and flashes and shizz

For a game that just came out - yeah, hell of a price.

Though, not sure I trust that site, TBH.

Also, MyD certainly doesn't need another Batman game currently.

It certainly doesn't look to be much new nor pack enough content to make him go gaga and want to leap for it ASAP.

If anything can make MyD leap and break his 75% off or better for backlogging rule and want a game ASAP, it'd likely be a long-winded game w/ tons of content that he'll play plenty of - think of something along the lines of a RPG, namely.

He's also still hoping that his 5x5 game-keys for Batman: AA + AC might one day activate up on Steam.

Especially B:AC, since he wants to activate that just so he can give Batman: AC - HQR a shot.

Thanks for the Conan video. I've been meaning to check out more from this sort of thing because they usually are hilarious. I've never see the Tomb Raider so that will be next.

The Atari one is pretty solid if your old enough to remember the games... GTA V is pretty hysterical but has what I assume are mild early mission spoilers and is another reminder that most of us are still waiting for its PC release.

u should anything but season pass for last light and season pass dlcs of last light cause those arent even on sale why u do this deep silver. ur client better have sale on the whole franchise just not the game and some dlc or i buy u out

Does anyone know of a place that lists what greenlit games (or otherwise) from indie bundles got Steam keys recently? I know I've got a few around that I haven't activated.
