How are the forgotten sands? I'm def in for the Scott pilgrim add ons and outland... Maybe am for gunslinger too... Im sure these won't be the best deals available though... These are some good ones here...
I got it a long time ago but I never finished it. The controls feel too finicky and the wall-running isn't very good, especially compared to the Assassin's Creed series. I can't tell you if it improves since I only played the first bit and just stopped.

What do you guys think of the AC3 DLC? I just bought the main game for $9.99 on Black Friday and it's in my backlog, but the DLC seems like a decent price. Appreciate any recommendations you guys have.
Well I got the Season Pass when it was 25% off but I think even then it was worth it....the DLC is something that hasn't been seen in any other AC game yet it's kinda unique and felt a lot more challenging than the main game...at least until some point...I can only recommend it, plus if you get all 3 there is still some more hours if you want to 100% this =)

Is AC3 substantially better than previous iterations? I got kinda burned out on the whole thing after 2, but recently got AC3 at a pawn for $3.50 (no joke). Wondering if I should give it a try while the dlc is on sale.

Probably in for Outland. Small chance I get Gunslinger too.

I liked it. I'm quite the fan of the series, so take that into consideration, but I felt like it really changed the gameplay a lot more than DLC usually ever does, while still retaining many of the fun aspects of the game. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Oh I know I won't 100% it lol (I sure didn't do that for AC2 And it's looking like the same for Black Flag) but if any of them add good content I'm interested. I have about $30 of MS money and I've bought most of what I want, so I don't feel as restricted on these sales anymore.

It's substantially worse.
Well that is your opinion =P

In my opinion they did a great job with some fresh ideas (Naval Warfare, Hunting and Trading....and the unique DLC), plus they refocused on the main game instead of the Multiplayer (which also improved since the introduction of the Wolfpack Mode...Brotherhood was nightmare MP (Achievement) wise...)

But other than that I also enjoyed Brotherhood and Reelations (Revelations a little less because Ezio got old and you kinda noticed this in the gameplay when you move him...storywise Revelations revealed (haha) a lot of things....

Anyway I think they did improve with AC3, I'm not sure why some people said the AC Series died with AC3...but maybe someone will explain it to me what they didn't like about it?

I actually first tried the series with AC3 and just didn't like anything about the game at all. And I came in really wanting to like it, I was pretty intrigued by the story and setting. The storytelling was scattered, poorly paced, and boring. Connor is uninteresting. The controls felt clumsy, I couldn't get the hang of the combat, the map and menus were sluggish, the missions were overly strict and just not very fun.

Then I tried AC2 when it was free on XBLM, and it was like night and day. I fell in love with the game right away. The controls for movement and combat just felt right in a way that AC3 didn't. The mission design gave you the right balance of freedom and guidance. Ezio was awesome and the story and world were super entertaining. I got a big kick out of all three Ezio games.

I even tried going back to III, thinking maybe I understand the series now and I'll see it differently. Nope, everything about it still felt clumsy, disconnected, and boring compared to the Ezio games.

Just my $0.02. :D

Huge fan of the AC series and AC2 is my favorite but AC3 is my second favorite. I would recommend the DLC for AC3. I actually wish there would be more story DLC for AC3.

Pet a cat in AC3 and the guards attacked me. That's when I stopped playing it.

Forgot that was the reason I stopped playing until I was playing AC4 and was able to safely pet a cat.

Please Lord, let one of the daily deals leading up to 2014 be Pinnacle Station for Mass Effect 1.  I have been really good this year and I know that this is probably the last chance we will get for this.  Oh, and Citadel for ME3, that would be great - but really I just want Pinnacle Station.

Well I agree on the parts with the strict storyline...Free-Roam is only available from sequence 5 or 6 I think, not much you can (or should do) before rechsing this sequence..I guess that could be kinda annoying....anyway it's also one of the steps that imo that had to be amde since we got a whole new character in AC3...so they provided some background with the new character and the first very strict arts..later you can free roam all you want....as for the combat...it is true that they made the combat a LOT more challenging then the previous games, you actually have to use some strategy with different enemy types and no medicine to heal midcombat...and I guess that's something people didn't like either...

I disagree on the controls in general though...the Free running mode is a lot better in AC3...I did go back to Brotherhood some time ago, and jumping or going in the direction you're supposed to be doesn't work as good as in AC3 (except for the climbing up tree viewpoints in AC3...somehow the game doesn't repsond very well when going up those trees lol)

And yeah AC3 also had some bugs...nothing game breaking but some were kinda annoying (and some funny...my Achilles got multiplied LOL)

Well as for AC2...it's not weird that you fell in love with that one =D it's still considered the best game in this series and it is still my favorite of all the AC games soo it doesn't surprise me hehe

I also agree that the womanizer Ezio was more entertaining than Connor...but they are 2 totally different characters and Connor is just a more serious guy (he also doesn't know how to approach women lol) and didn't have a sloth life like Ezio did in the beginning (rich boy from a wealthy family with a big mouth =P) anyway that's it what Ezio makes more charming and entertaining =P

It's much worse. I haven't played AC IV yet but I've heard good things about it, so AC III is the worst in the series in my opinion.

AC3 is either the best or worst. Jeez, decision is so much easier now lol.

I never really liked the story and the scaling of walls got tiresome for me. Funny because Prince of Persia Sands of Time was my goty was back in 2003.

Lots of great deals. Unfortunately/thankfully I already have all of them. However, this will make me finally pick up the multiplayer dlc for Scott Pilgrim.

Go ahead and stroke that pussycat to your heart's content. :whistle2:

Cloudberry Kingdom gameplay is awesome. The game is ugly and the soundtrack sucks, but that doesn't really matter when the gameplay is all platforming goodness. There are tons of adjustable sliders to pretty much make whatever type of level you like, plus there are tons of challenge modes using each type of character "Regular Bob, Minibob, Pogo Bob" etc. As well as a main story mode that consists of 350 levels. So much platforming content, from simple to hardcore.

It's not easier than Super Meat Boy. You will not 200/200 Cloudberry Kingdom.
Has anyone managed to get all the achievements/trophies? I vaguely remember a thread on CAG or one of the cheevo/trophy sites saying no one had beaten the final bonus chapter in the campaign and posting a video of how ridiculous it is.

First Blood Dragon and now CoJ Gubslinger? Damn Ubisoft. I thought 50% off was good recently but to come back weeks later at 75% off... What is this, the PSN thread? I smell piss everywhere.

Pinnacle Station is easily the worst piece of ME DLC out there, and Citadel is tied for best (with Lair of the Shadow Broker). Citadel is worth full price and Pinnacle Station isn't worth any price, IMO. I bought it for completionist sake and regretted it. Probably will skip it entirely on my next playthrough (#8).

so many great games for under $4....definitely getting Scott Pilgrim and Gunslinger at the least. Would love to play Beyond Good and Evil HD, Rayman 3 HD and Outland but I fell like they will sit in my backlog

One person completed it according to TrueAchievements, but in the comments there is speculation that that person may have cheated to get it to maintain their 100% completion ratio.

The multiplayer DLC is supposedly bad and people reported bad lag even playing people just a few miles away from their house.

That has kept me from buying it.

Lol, I actually bought it voluntarily a couple weeks ago just cause its not gone on sale and I have a bunch of MS money with nothing to spend it on. Will give it a shot next playthrough (#9 or so for me)

Back on the AC3 topic, is there any DLC you guys recommend over the other? Buying all the DLC on sale will still cost me more than the base game (a big no-no in my book) so I think I'll just get one. I'm leaning toward the Tyranny of King Washington myself.

Uh, the whole DLC is called the Tyranny of King Washington and it's split into parts called: Infamy, Betrayal and Redemption...it's an episodic DLC soo you should start with the Infamy then...

Unless we were also talking about MP DLC here.. (Battle Hardened Pack) which doesn't seem to be on sale?

I almost bought Peggle 2 today just to have another game for my XB1 but strangely I can't use PayPal to fund my purchase even though it shows it under Billing. I had $9.xx and wanted to fund the rest that way but it would prompted me to add a CC. I guess I'll save my money for the holiday sale. Reason - or lack of payment options - won out.

I'm all for ME3 Citadel DLC going on sale this holiday as well as The Wolf Among Us season. It's probably too early for TWAU but I said that about TWD last year and was pleasantly surprised.

I hope more publishers throw their catalogs on sale like Ubisoft did this week. Now I'll be more cautious even at 50% off. I wish library sales were more frequent and guaranteed like on Steam. I have a minimum of 75% off over there and usually a maximum of $5 unless it's a large bundle.

oh whoops, thought each one was separate. Well that changes things then, no way I am spending more for DLC then I paid on the base game which I havent even played yet.

I have never played any Juarez games but if what MrNinjaSquirrel (one of my fave CAGs - he doesn't know that though) says is correct, then I might pull the trigger anyways.

I'm usually the type to grab everything in a series if I get one (The Darkness and Fable are recent examples because of XBLA sales/GWG) and I don't really want to with the Juarez games.

On a side note, Outland is all I got the instant I saw these sales. The reviews were too good to pass up on for the price of a couple sodas.

ooooohhh gamercrush. but seriously tough, you should definitely 'pull the trigger' for this one. I never played any other CoJ games beyond demos, but can tell this is unlike all the others. Shoot em up 'arcadey' fun, do not regret buying at original price!

Flattered, though let's just be friends ;)

As far as the Juarez games go, though I haven't played any of them I would probably recommend sticking with Gunslinger, maybe Bound in Blood if you really like westerns. I certainly can't recommend anyone buy The Cartel do to how distasteful the developers were with the subject matter (see here for more). I've heard nothing but great things about Gunslinger though, so I think you're pretty safe picking that up and shouldn't worry about bothering with the rest of the series (I'd do the same, but I'd prefer to play it on PC).
