New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Did we do the obligatory "What do you want from this sale?", already?

Hotline Miami

From Dust

Don't Starve

Universe Sandbox (because Carl Sagan)

And obviously I want each of these in the $1 range, or free.
Cave Story+ for under $3.

Risk of Rain or Starbound for 75% off.

I might pick up Tomb Raider when it hits $5.

I'm maybe going to get The Secret World when it hits $10.

Unrealistically hoping for Broderlands 2 and Dishonored GOTY editions to go below $10.

King of Fighters XIII for 75% off.

Also heads up. GMG has Metal Gear Revengence up for pre-order, the coupon code GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49 brings it down to $16. Saving $4 vs steam and amazons price.

So, i've been waiting for a sale on Project Zomboid and Train sim 2014, but the deals arent that great.

Can anyone recommend PZ at that price?

Can someone tell me if TS2014 is worth $10 for just the base game?  or maybe can recommend it with just a few DLC's (obviously not buying them all).

Help is appreaciated!!!

Considering I got TS2013 (which auto upgraded to TS2014) for the bundle price of $1.50 (Groupees KISS 2) with several other games, I can't personally say that $10 is all that great. But, then again, we run into that whole either waiting for another bundle or tempting fate with time travel thing.

TS2013 (free upgrade to TS2014) was 75 cents in one of the groupees bundle, you may want to check the steam buy/sell thread to see if anyone is selling a cheap copy.

I bought PZ in alpha when it was $7.99 on Desura. Didn't realize they had doubled the price.

Some of us paid ~$7.50 two years ago for a Railworks/TS pack.  ...and used the $0.75 groupees to grab some cheap dlc.   Though the groupees thing did not last long.

Train Simulator is such a niche game that it's hard to recommend without knowing what kinds of games you like. It's probably the most realistic rail simulation on the market and, if you get into it, it's strangely compelling. You might want to try The Holiday Express, a cheaper standalone holiday version of the game which migrates into the full version if you decide to pick that up later. Do note that versions of Train Simulator sold on other websites are not the "Steam" version of TS, which is on sale here with extra content.

For DLC's, I would recommend the Pacific Surfliner LA - San Diego Route, coincidentally the only other add-on that's over 80% off.
Hopefully someone can answer this for me. I want to trade and give away some steam keys I got in a humble bundle not realizing I already owned the games on steam. But I can't remember which ones I activated. Is there a way to check if they key is valid before activating? I'd hate to give away keys that are already used...
Just post them in the thread. We'll blame the lurkers for the used ones. 😬

I've been posting the same keys for a year now every few months. I get a ton of likes and everyone blames the lurkers.

I was hoping for a better sale on FFVIII, but FFVII looks kinda good for that price. On another note, how does one read 20 pages of a thread? Geez, kinda scary how much people comment/

Nod, vaguely recall... aslo iirc the TS addition was a mid-bundle addition. There was nothing in that groupees that interested me... until TS popped up. I was glad I caught it.
Yeah, I was the same way. Nothing interested me, TS was added and the mention of the free upgrade sold me. I'm so easy to please.

It is really eating me that I missed Bioshock Season Pass for $4.99, to gift to my brother who has the game (I still have to play 1&2 and buy Infinite). I had it in my cart, even.

Anyone still have a giftable copy? If not, 's ok.

I know it's an un-CAGly discount, but Final Fantasy VIII is 33% off - $8.03- (it looks like to match the 66% discount for FF7) for 48 hours.
{Yawns.}

Need a double-pack for these ancient FF games I already own on the old PSX.

I'm thinking like $5 for both of these FF7+8 Re-Releases.

Tried to give it away earlier, but I was too slow. So the first two people to quote this get Hard Reset.
Big thanks for the giveaway!

Now take off your shirts and get in this pit and fight to the death!

***Throws knife in the middle of the pit***

edit: To the NSA: I am definitely not running an underground deathmatch fight club in my basement.
RRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So, what kind of glitches did I miss today?
GMG had Ass Creed Libations for $4. Nothing from Valve.

The problem was that I had no money to buy it ( -_-; ) I may pick FFVII up, debating atm. Anybody recommend it on PC, or should I look for a console's edition?
I don't understand how some of you don't have money to pick up $3 games when these deals come around. That's what credit is for. Backlog now, pay later! Play never!

You just do - and never have time for games or anything else during the Steam Sales.

Or, you just eventually give up on keeping up - and do whatever the hell else you wanna do.

I seem to often do a little bit of a combo of both here and there, depending on the day and my actual mood.

sell everything now!!
You make card-selling sound like a liquidation sale.

Do that have liquidator agencies for cards like how liquidation agencies went in and did that job for CompUSA + Circuit City?

EDIT:

Perhaps I'm too young to understand. Guess that's what I get for not bothering to reference for definitions :whistle2:k
Hmmm - who knew that Ashes speaks slang.

She's so hip. :D

I guess I do learn something new every day.

Guacamele $3.75 at the Humble Store. Worth it at that price?

ninja'd
Thanks. That's the price I've been waiting for.

It's well liked. Also might be bundled in the next year. I'm pretty sure I'm biting. (I've been specifically wanting it, but waiting for 755).
Guacamelee is excellent, one of the best metroidvania games I've ever played and certainly one of my favorite games this year. It's got a ton of style and a great sense of humor, not to mention an awesome soundtrack and witty dialog. The controls are a bit stiff at times, but otherwise I have no qualms with it and would recommend it without a second thought to just about anyone.

Full ramblings: -->Steam Review<--

Green Man Gaming has some good deals for Square Enix titles, check them out here.

Use GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49 when you check out. You will also get $0.10 credit for each game purchased.

Supreme Commander 2 - $3

Quantum Conundrum: Season Pass - $2

Mini Ninjas - $2

Scarygirl - $1.40

Urban Chaos - $1.40

Startopia - $1.40
Please don't buy Scarygirl. Yes it's cheap, but it's not fun and has serious problems at least on PC (no graphical settings, anti-aliasing, v-sync, and a treasure trove of bugs and glitches). The level designs get progressively worse and the story loses any sort of direction (it's like someone chopped several chapters out of a novel). The controls are sloppy, and all around it squanders it's potential in nearly every way after the first three or so levels (which are infinitely more polished than the rest of the game).

For my full rant -->Steam Review<-- (if you for some reason find this helpful I would certainly appreciate the upvote, if only to counteract the mindless fans that downvote anything negative).

On a more positive note Mini Ninjas has been pretty nice so far. I'm hoping there will be more platformer once I get further in, but at about two hours or so I've found it very cute and undemanding, which is a nice change of pace.

Red Dead Redemption: Limited PC Edition for $1.

Okay, maybe I'm a bit out of practice ;) but tricks are for kids, no?
Pedobear approves.
