A: Since it has been converted to pre-owned, there's no easy way to track down one. Your best bet is to go into your local store and ask if they have it in stock.

I tried to do a price check. And the clerk did a ghost transaction from the register and she probably saw the price because her face and reaction said otherwise and went to her manager asking what to do but they said they didn't convert it to pre-owned yet. Will try the other gamestops in the area

I'll never understand this. Even when I worked retail in college, I just rang shit up for however much it came up, unless it was marked wrong and then I priced it lower.

 
Anyone have the link or item number to the controllers and is it the entire bundle or just the controllers? Can't seem to find it on Gamestop.com

I believe like with penny guides they get a credit from the publisher towards future product orders. Its based on how many of an item they've sold, which is why you'll see situations where the 360 version will convert to used while the PS3 one wont, even months later (Tron CE, Tomb Raider CE, etc)

Thanks. So, let me get this straight.

Gamestop takes a hit by converting a game to used to reduce the price hoping for more sales. To the publisher, they still get their original agreed on cut for the sale, but to gamestop they make less due to the reduced price. The consumer wins since they paid a lower price for a like new item. Then the publisher is happy about the sales numbers and will send them more quantities of a different game in the future ?

 
YMMV obviously, but I managed to grab the last copy of PS3 Tomb Raider LE for next to nothing. I've known the manager for several years, and asked her if I could trade in my vanilla copy of TR (which I picked up from Glyde for under $20, and it just so happened to have GS stickers still on it) for the unopened LE version. She said it was cool, since they both ring up under the same SKU now. Walked out with a slightly dented LE with no hassle at all, and she rang it up as an exhange, so I would get the Rewards points. Super cool chick.

 
Is the version of Saints Row IV LE that got converted the "Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition" that comes with the Dub Gun and other junk? Cause that's totally worth $22.

Yup i did use my birthday coupon to drop the price down to 22. But yeah pretty sweet deal if you can find a store that has them still

If they scan the game/controller bundle it will either not scan or scan as a used copy of the game. They were given instructions last week to take the controllers out and adjust their inventories to add the games and controllers seperately to their used stock under their respective SKU's.

Normally for stuff like the Tomb Raider CE, etc. it will just scan as a used game but GS wants to sell those controllers and games seperately so you shouldn't be able to get both for the used game price.

anybody have any luck with the 360 version of of tomb raider collectors edition recently? already started it on 360...if I find a ps3 version anybody willing to do a trade?
 
Struck out on finding the SRIV LE anywhere nearby. Next chance I'll have to go out of town is after the holidays, and I know there ain't gonna be shit left by the time I check around for one. Argh...

I've been working for GS for a long time now, and I've noticed that most conversions happen on a Friday. I thought I'd finally start helping Sasukekun with updates
 
^Nice! I'm going back home this weekend and my local store there has both in stock. With 30% off (B-Day and PUR), I should get it for $20. Great deal!

Any other converts that we should know. Want to start looking for stores that have it tonight so I can head out in the morning and get the good stuff before its gone.

That was a GS exclusive CE and worth big money on EBay/Amazon at least before Ultimate was announced. Not sure about now. I'd keep it sealed if it was still sealed.

Stores will hold requests for 2 full days so you're good until the end of Saturday if you put one in right now. Some stores get so busy though and don't bother putting the hold requests back unless another customer specifically calls about the same game and it's been more than 2 days after the hold request was processed. When I picked up my College Hoops 2K8 hold, it was in the hold drawer for 5 days.

Thanks Donut2922. I put in an hold request. I wanted to wait until after 9:00pm when the store closed, but who knows when the product will get delisted from the GS website. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. I already have the game, but I would really really love to get the CE at this price.

 
Reminder: GS stores will hold items for UP TO two days--they could just hold it through the same day you place the hold. I'd call the store after placing the hold and ask how long they're held, just to be safe.
 
Does anyone know if any of the Injustice, Defiance, or either of the Final Fantasy XIII-2 CEs have been converted?

Several that I know stores near me have aren't showing up on the stock checker online.

Ok guys, here's the list. Another thing I've noticed with conversions and penny drops, is that these lists only have items based on the store's inventory. So far I haven't found a way to search for full conversion and penny drop lists in the POS back office.
So the list I will post is based on my store's current inventory.

Submitted a hold on NBA 2K Dynasty Edition. So as long as that's accurate I walk in tomorrow and it rings up at the price of a used copy?

Unless your GS only holds things through the same business day holds are placed, yeah (a store is supposed to hold stuff for up to two days).
