Edit: By "am I wrong?" I guess I am saying is this something I need to play now & how far off do you all think this is from bundle fodder.. I think that's what I meant... I think I may have sunstroke.

I've played it and would recommend the game. It's certainly worth at least $4 in my opinion.

Don't worry, I thought your original post was understandable. Fox recommended it and it seems quite a few people have bought it, which is quite a surprise. There's always a chance for it be in a bundle. You just have to decide if a recommendation is good enough vs possibly saving a few bucks.

Which is the better co-op game for someone (not me) that prefers more action and less thinking.  I've played L4D2, but only solo and haven't played (beyond a few minutes) Killing Floor.

Fox seems a fan of the survival genre so if he thought it was worthy of recommendation then I figure it's at least a qualified opinion.

And this sale is dull enough that I'm not worried about breaking my budget.

Another vote for Killing Floor. I love L4D2 but yeah, the community is terrible in comparison.

 
I've never played Kingdom of Amular, but I want to. Is it wise to pick up the full collection or just the game itself? Does the DLC ever go on sale for cheaper?

Both require you to employ strategy, but I think Left 4 Dead 2 is less thoughtful than KF. Shit gets crazy powerful in KF when you're playing multiplayer with Russians since they're all so amazing and get to the loot crates the fastest. Killing Floor is by far a more tactical zombie FPS as it consists of waves. L4D2 has infinite waves, sure, but not if you move fast enough. KF is an arena and L4D2 is linear.

In L4D2 versus, all enemies have their set amount of health, and there's no need to hole up in some well-prepared fortress; all you have to do is save your team when they get attacked by a Special, and you do that by sticking together. There's nothing tactical or intricate in the gameplay. Hell, I've played it for so many hours that I just run in front of everyone and kill everything myself.

The difference in communities is fairly obvious: In KF, you can have 16+ players in your team. Losing a dumbass is no big deal. But in L4D2, all you have are 4 survivors, and you're typically facing 4 infected. If you're being killed by someone on the other team five feet away from your teammate who doesn't turn around even after you type or shout at him to turn around, then you're gonna have a bad time. I'm the one who kicks dumbasses who can't listen and play cooperatively. I mean, helping someone who's dying should be INSTINCTUAL. It's fucking 4v4, play as a team or uninstall.

You guys just hate the L4D2 community because you're the types of noobs who don't turn around and melee a special off your teammate when they're five feet away from you dying.

DLC likely won't go cheaper than 75% off pretty much ever (I suppose one day the bundle might be $5 and the core game unavailable by itself). I'd get the collection -- people seem to really like Legend of Dead Kel.

Definitely Killing Floor. KF requires more thinking, but you get a constant stream of action/shooting. With L4D2 the real action is spread out, and can often be avoided totally if you just keep running.

The KF community is also much better if you want to play with randoms.
