2K is now taking alpha sign-ups for Evolve at the game's official website.

From IGN:

"Turtle Rock community manager Jess Damerst gave the password required, "happyhunting," along with a referral ID "JoinTheHunt" on Twitter. An attached promotional image states participants should not disclose details of the alpha, and that the studio is aiming to have the participant list finalized by this Saturday, July 5. You need to be a resident of the U.S. or Canada and have a Steam account to participate."

So Killing Floor is on sale but DLC is still 50%. Not only that, but a lot of the DLCs have had their prices bumped up from $4.99 to $7.99.

Just thought you guys should know.

Yeah, I saw. You mean the dev I thought was being kind of greedy, turned out to be really greedy? Colour me surprised.

In any case, luckily the one DLC I'm missing (aside from the 2 new DLCs they just added) didn't have its base price raised.

The only explanation I can come up with is that they're desperate for funds to fund KF2 or something.

I didn't need to know that.
The good news is that when they go 75% off it'll be a whole 50 cents cheaper than the previous 50%.

EDIT: Taking account what Fox said, you might actually pay more when it's 75% off than when it was 50% off. Aren't you guys glad you waited for 75% or bust?

It actually looks like it's worse than that. They've raised some from $1.99 to $7.99.

Just look at what the regular price is on GMG for the older ones:

I'm hoping it's just a mistake. I understood the DLC only 50% off strategy, but raising the price of some old ass DLC is pretty shitty for any dev to do.

NO!

If I'm to be interested - 75% off the price for the 3 DLC's or below for Dishonored GOTY.

This is namely b/c I own Dishonored (base-game) already.

I'm not looking forward to a Dishonored base-game going to waste, when I buy GOTY Ed basically just for getting ALL of the DLC's.

So, basically:

$9.99 x .75 = $2.49

$9.99 x .75 = $2.49

#3.99 x .75 = 99 cents.

Add that up = $5.97.

$6 or less for those 3 DLC's for me.

nice math for a toaster

I worked with a guy one summer when I was growing up.  Every single day he would buy a coffee, drink a sip of it and exclaim "Man, this coffee tastes like ass!", or something along those lines.  After 4 or 5 weeks of this, I looked at him and asked if he ever had a cup of coffee he actually liked.

He looked thoughtful for a while and didn't really answer me.  I then said "Did you ever think maybe you just don't like coffee?"

I'm beginning to think that Mooby might have the same problem (that is unless, of course he does actually like some of the games he plays & just doesn't tell us).

There are good games... Dishonored is not one of them.  It's not a bad game, either, but it is grossly overhyped.  I found it worse than the widely panned Hitman Absolution.  The only place the former beats the latter is level design and even then unless you're doing a no power/stealth/non-lethal playthrough it doesn't matter because all of your tools and magic make you an unstoppable dynamo.

Hmmn, liked Dishonored a lot. I rarely read reviews or pay attention to hype anymore - maybe I went in with lower expectations than you did. On the other hand, when I played Hitman Absolution and was kind of letdown by it. I liked it alright, but it didn't really thrill me the way contracts did. I did play Dishonored as a stealth game so maybe that's why I liked it more than you (although I definitely didn't do it no kill/no powers).

I honestly only said that because I think the nicest thing I ever remember you saying about a game is that 'State of Derpcay wasn't total and complete shit'. (paraphrasing) :)

When you put it that way he could always become an indie game developer.
and when he puts his RPGmaker game up on greenlight after you bought it in a bundle i will tell him to make sure not to give steam keys just to watch the shit show

but i would be just as disappointed

Mooby reminds me of a guy from another forum/social area for gamers. Both only post about how bad a game is and always seem pessimistic. I wonder if they are brothers.
