This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

As a fan of music games, I'm recommending Child of Eden. Don't let "Kinect" scare you; it's just an option.

$7.50 for Walking Dead Season 2's pass is a steal, but I'm waiting to see what else will be offered before I pull the trigger on it.

Thoughts on Deus Ex: Human Revolution?
Deus Ex is legit. Buy it.

Couldn't get into Deus Ex: HR.  After 20 min lost the interest than sold my hard copy. Is it really that good to give it another chance?

Tomorrow!
I'm kind of hoping that it's like "surprise" here's the Banjo bundle and it's half off or something. Though that would be awful if it was only available for one to be part of the daily sale... oh wow, I wonder if that's what's going to happen.

Sure it's worth 5 dollars, 20 mins is pretty much the prologue to the game.

Yeah, I don't even think you became Deus Ex yet after 20 minutes. Plus it's as much RPG as shooter so it takes some time to develop.

Just heard on Slickdeals that if you buy the CoD Ghosts Season Pass for 360, it also becomes downloadable for the Xbox One version for free. Not sure if you guys knew.

Halo 4 is part of tomorrow's sales.

Hopefully they're going to discount the whole Halo series + DLCs...
While that would be great, wouldn't they have saved the Spartan Assault sale for tomorrow then? I also explained somewhere (maybe it was this thread) about how you'll never really see Halo 4's DLC maps. A DLC playlist just expired on Sunday, so no one knows when the next time 343i offers one will be (they're usually spaced out over weeks, to months). Even then, though, they're still extremely rare to be offered a vote for. Just an alert before people spend their money, even on sale.

EDIT: didn't mean to post this twice.

Oh shit the first episode of TWD isn't included? Ha shit wouldn't have bought it then the first ep isn't even on sale

Isn't it nowhere as good without it though? That's what I always heard. If it was cheaper I would impulse buy it but $10 is still kind of... eh.
I've honestly used Kinect only for menu navigation and Dance Central games. From the few minutes I played Eden on controller, I liked it. $10 is usually the most I play for digital games but if you're sensitive on hard drive space, I'd wait for a disc version (which is what I have).

Is this the same game that was free on Playstation Plus a while back? Because I felt the same way with that Deus Ex and deleted it from the system.

Not sure if I like the RPG aspect of it. Sounds like I should give the demo a[nother?] shot.

Yeah, my HDD is currently overflowing and I can't even get all the games I bought from this sale downloaded. :headache:

You can just run through and shoot everything up if you want and ignore most of it I suppose but it's still there. Kind of hard for me to come up with anything that's quite the same. Maybe something along the lines of the Mass Effect Sequels or Skyrim where they're heavily action based but there's still talking and exploring and stuff.

Holy hemorrhoids! There's an Xbox Live Ultimate Games Sale this week?! Man, they really know how to time these, don't they? :whistle2:|

Oh well, down for Ducktales. Even though I've spent most of my money for the month already.

Oh there are rotating games daily. You might wanna just forget it's going on lol

Hmm, I'm thinking of picking up FIFA World Cup for $23.99 before it's all over and I don't care about soccer again for 4 years.  Although I would miss having all the club teams from regular FIFA.

I would consider Batman Arkham origins at $10 and Blackgate at $5. If Blackgate were to go on sale for $10 is it worth it at that price?
Blackgate? Not really, no. Unless they fixed the map on the console/PC versions. I liked it on vita but the map is crap.

AO is definitely worth $10 but yeah...it's no on the marketplace.

I know Resident Evil sale been around many times.  Since I have some capital now I'm really hoping for RE sale, I'd pick up RE4 and Code:Veronica in a flash, current price 20 for each is just not up my cheapass valley.

Hoping to see a good sale on a sports game that might entice me to spend some cash/credit.  That's something I've more or less skipped this past generation.  Also wouldn't mind seeing some Resident Evil content on sale as long as it isn't RE5.  Fingers crossed on a deal on XCOM Enemy Within or Diablo 3 that puts them to $15 or lower.

And watching this "match" between Brazil and Germany.... is painful.

Hmmm...very tempted by Dishonored, but I've gotten a ton of "open world" type games lately (Saints Row 3, Just Cause 2, Watchdogs and a few others I can't even remember). Funny thing is I've never been much of an open world gamer.

Anyone want to sell me on why I should add Dishonored to my backlog?

I was listening to the update on the radio and before they ended the update tey had to update the score again. At that point I figured rioting started to begin.

It doesn't matter if is good or bad, since you will never get around to playing it anyway?

It's not so much the traditional "open world" it's more small open levels with objectives. Personally, I enjoyed it for many of the same reasons I love the BioShock titles, and that's about the highest praise I can give a game. Also - the DLC (The Knife & Brigmore) are some of the most quality buys I've ever played in my years gaming. Absolutely some of the most impressive work in every aspect of gameplay, storytelling, and re-playability.

Seeing that Gears of War 3 season pass on sale has me hoping that AC 3's season pass will go on sale soon too. I coming for you George Washington

I pretty much agree with this. Some of the interactions reminded me of stuff you would see in an Assassin's Creed game.

Next I'd like to see a sale on Shank 1 and/or Duke Nukem 3-D. I just hope after this the sales are crappy since I'm moving and I don't know how long it will take to get internet again.

I just started ACIII last night and so far I am underwhelmed. I appreciate them trying to weave an epic story line but this may be the most boring start to a game I have played in a long while. I knew the "secret" about the beginning of this game so that was not a surprise but I think someone at Ubisoft decided to get a little too cute when making this game. I am through the first 2 DNA sequences and I really hope it picks up soon. I feel no investment yet in the game world at all. Side note...the way they introduced and portray Ben Franklin is pretty shitty so far also.

Dishonored isn't open world, it just gives you a couple different approaches. It's a really, really good game too.

Well..I hate to burst your bubble but the game takes FOREVER to open up. That whole part at the beginning is basically a long 6-7 hour tutorial. Once you get the chance to do what you want it's over. Then, with Connor you start out as a little kid and work your way up through the years. I think I finally was done being bored at about 14 hours and I don't think everything had even opened up by then.

Luckily in AC4 it was an hour or less and it had a substantially better pace. AC3 is without a doubt one of the biggest letdowns ever for me gaming wise.

I believe he was referring to TWD Ssn2's episode 1, which unlike Ssn 1, is not free this time around.
Well, originally the first episode of Season 1 cost $5 too, but they put it on sale for free a number of times.

We might see the same thing happen to E1 of Season 2 once the retail release of all the eps comes out.

AC4 was great because other than the first hour or two and one or two other points where you're forced to do something for story purposes you're basically just dropped in the world and can do almost anything you want right off the bat. I did nearly 100% of the optional stuff before I was 20% through the story.

Oh man I might not finish this one. I even slogged through getting all the flags in ACI and so far this seems like more a chore.

AC4 was my favorite besides 2. They really hit a home run. I'm glad that they only used Edward for one game and not 3 more games.

Also the abstergo was substantially shorter.

It takes almost 7 hours (sequence 6 I believe) when the "real" Assassin's Creed starts. Honestly, my favourite part of the game was the Desmond parts and the ending.
