The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!

You aren't going to be able to get yours specially packed, sorry. You will just have to deal with the risk of an item being damaged like everyone else.

Btw, I'd be careful with the exchanges. Amazon can ban you if you keep doing exchanges.

I don't think there is anything IF can do except accept a return and give your money back.
It didn't seem like a problem when I asked Amazon support about noting to pack safer on my other orders/exchanges because seem liked the actually processed a message or something those times. I accept that I just have to take the risk like everyone else (except mine is a little larger since traveling to Hawaii). But mainly I was just trying to point out why I now understand why those notes and packing feed backs meant nothing. Because they're packing using software to pack rather than common sense.

As for IF I expect that they will only accept returns thru amazon system but was just hope that maybe they will take a high road and be like NIS even though they sold thru Amazon. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I managed to snag one last night and noticed that for some reason it wasn't going to arrive until Friday even though I have prime and all. So I did a quick chat with CS just kinda asking why if I have Prime and selected 2 day shipping it was going to take 3 days to get to me. CS kinda went silent for a while and when he came back he had upgraded me to 1 day shipping. Yay.

Alright guys, can't we let this HDN Re;Birth 1 LE thing go to rest? But I guess not, I'm guessing it'll be a hot topic for a while before we move on to the next thing. >_>

In other news, for those that have a 360, and have a thing for shoot-em-ups, Under Defeat HD, surprisingly came out (stealth release) for its digital Games on Demand service in the US, for $20.
Hmmmm, to double dip or not? I've pretty much consolidated all my shmups to the 360 platform. I own the PS3 physical version of the game. Does the 360 digital version offer any improvements?

Come on reprints to these limited print runs!  I don't care if it has the word "reprint" somewhere written on it.

*Shakes fist especially at "Ginga Force & Eschatos Wonder Pack" and "Muchi Muchi Pork! & Pink Sweets."  They will be mine someday and now I run away.*

If you can find MMP&PS platinum hits version, it can be had for around $40. The other one, not so much. I shelled out $70 from play-asia to import that. You would be hard pressed to get it under that amount. Are those games now out of print???

shocked my friends account isnt banned. He got that Default bravely Le box was crushed contacted CS instead of getting 5 or 10 bucks back they replaced it. They got the Ys Vita Le game. Music cd case was busted. Asked for 5 bucks back for the hassle of getting a new case, instead they shipped him another copy. So now he only contacts amazon in extreme cases cause those had to be Major flags on the account

Also, on a totally different topic, has anyone played Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus? Was wondering if it would be worth getting the physical edition, but I recall that Burst was really mindless and tedious. Is SV challenging and does it at least require some strategy or is it a cakewalk like Burst?
I have the platinum for it from the import. The difficulty is pretty similar to burst, but the fan service is there in bigger quantities and higher quality. Overall it's a much faster pace and has more characters (and playstyles) to choose from.

I did start to get bored with it towards the end. The platinum for the import wasn't difficult though. The most tedious thing is the Danganronpa style panty lottery that just requires spamming the lottery button until you collect them all.

Just watch some gameplay videos and decide for yourself really. I know nothing about the story since I played the import, but if you have any specific questions I can try to address them.

You're confused (so was the CS rep).

Having Amazon Prime does not mean you will get it in two-days, just that the package will be delivered within 2 days of it being mailed out.

And yes, Amazon generally mail packages out to Amazon Prime member on the same day.

@shivan128

Its more or less the same as the PS3 version with all of its content included. Also, I guess MMP/PS combo pack is indeed OOP, even the reprint a while back too, but the Es./GF Wonder Pack seems to be available thoughout, but higher prices and such.

When I was getting the Hakuoki PS3 LE, I had to send it back three times. They kept resending it in a cardboard fold-up package, but my account didn't seem to have any problems. Unless you're talking about doing something over many orders.

I played Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 for about and hour and a half yesterday. Here's my impressions of it.

- The graphics are alright. Every now and then you get some lag on the Vita but it's never too much. They are more defined and refined from the original PS3 game.

- The sound is pretty decent. I liked the music and used the English voices for now. They're not the best specifically Compa, but they're passable.

- I reached a save point in the first area. Battles were pretty fun although i had a bit of a hard time positioning the girls to be able to hit multiple opponents. I think, at least IMHO, that it's because the Vita joysticks are a bit too sensitive and i'm just not used to them. This may not be a problem for others.

- Battles seem clean and a little less clunky than the original game. They seem speedy so far and actually feel like you're doing combos compared to the first game with its slow battles. Not bad at all.

- The story so far is basic and likely will remain basic. It's just a fun silly game, but is in all good fun so far.

I'm quite enjoying it and will be trying to play an hour or 2 each day until I finish it. It even outshines Conception 2, which I always felt was average and missing something. At least i'm having fun with the battles even if the dungeons so far seems alright. I can't wait to play today if that tells you anything.

My first instinct was to say that he was shill bidding his own auction. But when you look at the entire bid history there are quite a few different bidders bidding on it. I think a group of people are trolling that auction. That, or he has a group of online friends artificially setting the bar high for pricing. The other LEs are not receiving high bids.
This is exactly what is going on. Buyers will often search the "items sold" listings to see what prices previous auctions closed for, so these sellers are working together to try and make it look like the bar is a lot higher than it really is. They might even do this for a few auctions to establish a pattern without ever actually completing the transaction.

I've seen this before as a buyer where the early closed auctions are all over the board even when they've closed around the same time. They can't control them all, so real auctions manage to get through and mix in with their shill crap.

I'm currently going through HN-Victory to platinum before I start Rebirth. I've always been a fan of the series and the positioning has always been a bit of a pain in the butt at times. Mostly when I'm trying to attack two enemies and it slips to one at the last minute. It's a nice, carefree, series that doesn't try to be series or overly complicated. I look forward to starting it up. I really enjoyed Conception, but you're right, it did feel a bit lacking.

I would've enjoyed Victory more if they didn't make the battle system similar to the first by making it so you really needed to just one strong combo setup compared to 2nd where you actually needed to setup your combos up.

I got an email from NISA about a preorder beginning to process. Based on the amount I was charged, it looks like Danganronpa 2 should start shipping soon :)

How was the packing job? Box or bubble mailer?
mine came in a small box will one air packet on one side and on the top. mine has creases along the side of the box and bottoms im assuming from getting slightly crushed because no air packets were on one side and it was just pressed up against the box. cant complain though, i was one of the lucky few so im pretty happy

EDIT: that was how is was packed so one side without the air packets got crushed a bit. tbh, i was literally expecting it to come somewhat crushed.

lucky you, then. ah well, im still happy to have gotten one seeing how rare this turned out to be. never played the games, but watched the anime.plus, this game has my kind of humor
I'm in the same boat. I never play any Neptunia's game, but I like the limited things.

Yikes, the prices on eBay for Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth are outrageous. I can't believe people would be willing to shell out several hundred dollars for a charm, vita case, and picture.

I sure hope that the sellers are bidding on their own items to drive up the price.

not gonna lie, but if they all sell for $400+, im probably gonna put mine on ebay, lol.i can't argue and extra $400 in my pocket , as much as i want to keep it. i already ordered a regular copy already.

I'm in the same boat. If these bids are legit it's a no-brainer.

I'd do the same. I mean the extras are nice, but they're not wow nice. With that much of a markup, i'd Ebay it as well. It's a video game and most games are known to lose value, so I expect the same to happen.

Situation is similar to the Ni No Kuni Wizard's Edition though I really liked the contents of that LE. People are disappointed at missing it now like that one, but people move on and now the game is really cheap.

But dont you want to be one of the special people who owns one of the 1000 limited editions for the game?

 jk. Lets go capitalism in this sort of situation.

i normally keep all my collectors editions especially all the rare ones. but, at this price i will definitely part ways, see you, nep nep

Meh these bids are insane.  I'd be too scared to put mine up until I saw the condition it was in.  I can imagine some angry ebay buyers if they spend $400+ and it isn't completely mint.

No they don't the white wizard edition still averages 300$+ sealed and Neptunia Rebirth 1 LE is much more limited. It will end up being one of those holy grail RPG's for collector's a few years from now if that.

Holy Grail LE you mean...I really doubt people are loving on this because of the game itself haha. It is a fun game but not to a real high regard.

Somehow I just feel this all hype and this wont hold it's value. Probably settle around the $100ish mark (not bad I'd think). Just my instincts talking of course.

Got my replacement D4 keychains in the mail. To my surprise they sent the whole set, and on top of that the keychains didn't glitch out in my hands or appear later than they were supposed to! :D/

So... they did permit more than one copy per purchase?
Yup. One of the many reasons why they sold out damn near instantly. (Other than the already low stock of course)

Really hope they see all these people hoarding and selling them at extreme prices and realize how badly they goofed
