destiny limited edition back in stock on amazon

I just got an email from newegg. Saying they can't fulfill my ghost edition preorder. So they are giving the standard ed for free or 50 gc
I'd say take the game for free. There are some people that would probably only pay that much for this game anyway, lol...don't worry; it's worth paying money for...$60 is debatable I suppose.

Newegg just called me to say they were upgrading my shipping to one day and it should turn into a real order and ship "any time now".

edit: and I just got the email....smh

What is going on at newegg???

Dude that is so messed up to call me and give me hope only to get that email immediatly after I got off the phone...

I've never had an issue with them when it came to PC hardware. Only bought one PC game from them though so I suppose this is a different issue...especially when it comes to games like Desiny, etc.

For limited editions newegg is the worst. They always screw people on pre-orders, but newegg often has them up longer than most, so people order and hope.

It seems as though they don't even account for inventory. They just take however many pre-orders and when they get their stuck, cut off anyone who was past the allotment.

Yup, the GCU discount was a biiig reason I bought thru BB, let alone why I even went for the Ghost edition.

So the guy at newegg called me back to tell me that yeah they got zero copies of the ghost edition for any console at all. That they were having to send out at least 100 of those free copies or gift cards and that he felt bad about what happened. They got called into a meeting right after we talked and told of the emails going out. So yeah NEVER put your preorder eggs in only in the newegg basket. Luckily I got one crushed copy for myself out of 3 copies ordered and two delivered...

Amazon is not budging on offering me a replacement or refund for a damaged box and no mention of partial refund or credit. They must be confident they are getting more in?

I cant even play the stupid ass game.

Centipede error no matter what I do.

I have never had a problem playing PS4 games online before...

Biggest waste of money I have ever spent.

Wonder if Amazon will refund me.

No point in keeping a useless ass game I cant play due to having Nat2 on internet I cant change.

I'll admit that I don't know much about networks, but don't most people have/want a NAT2 connection? I was under the impression that NAT2 was the type of connection that was behind a routers firewall, while NAT1 means you are using an unsecured public connection and NAT3 being the one that causes all the issues. Regardless of the NAT type, that really sucks that you are unable to play the game. Hopefully you are able to find a feasible solution.

Their feasile solution is them saying "you are living in an apartment or college campus that is blocking some of the ports"

Which is complet BS since I can play every other PS or Xbox game online without and problems.

For the ghost edition? I doubt they're getting more... maybe you've just passed the threshold of free credit they are willing to send your way based on your buying history.. or maybe they are sick of handing of refunds for what essentially is a manufacturer issue. They were willing to burn a bridge with Nintendo when Nintendo fucked up and tried to put all the blame on them.

It isn't BS. Because if your university/apartment is blocking the port they use, that is your problem and not Destiny/Bungie. Not every company uses the same ports for all things, it doesn't matter if you can play other games.

Apparently my apartment complex headquarters is working on opening certain ports for xbl/psn specifically for Destiny. Bungie requires certain ports to be open. The ports they want open register as BiTorrent when people try to connect...no other Game has done this.

At least you guys got the game, My Ghost Edition is missing the steelbook, which means no game, no DLC, no Expansion Packs.  If you are trying to resell this item you may want to be careful.

I'm not sure if it's newegg's fault or the manufacturer. The manufacturers probably don't give a crap about newegg and just do whatever they can to make amazon and others happy. If that means shipping amazon newegg's product to make up for damaged or missing editions then that's what they will do and who cares if they make newegg mad.

Or maybe it's all newegg's fault but I can't imagine they would put something for preorder without having a quantity ordered. If they oversold maybe that's their fault but not receiving any editions sounds like they had no control over it.

That's shitty, and I bet no one will take you seriously if you complain, I had that happen with COD MW3 for 360 on release day. Bought it, went home, opened it up, and there was no disc, had to go back to Walmart and explain that to them. Didn't go over so well, luckily my boyfriend was in the electronics section when they went back there and we're talking shit about me, so he grabbed a manager and busted their ass. So I got another copy thankfully.

Yikes :( I remember this happening to me for the Star Wars TOR CE, where it came with everything but the game disc and keys. I hope Amazon was able to help you?

Dude...that's harsh. You very much have cause to send a complaint to Amazon in this case. No really I mean that. No sarcasm here.

I think I have a PS3 LE on the way home already, yay. I'll post photos when I get to it.

No Ghost Edition from NewEgg, pretty much what i expected.  Oh well i got a $50 GC out of it, and I am playing my Limited Edition Copy from Best Buy so whatever.  After all the complaints I am not upset by not getting one.

Would anyone be interested in my undamaged Ghost Edition box? I'm not all that attached to it and I somehow ended up with one of the few without tears or cracks. Let me know if you might be interested and we can work out a price and shipping.

so glad I dumped all of mine the prices on ebay have tanked down to 200, lol.

positive feedback doesn't matter. lost a case earlier this year when a buyer opened one a month after product was delivered and positive feedback left. ebay favors the buyers so much it's ridiculous.
It makes it hard to return an item and receive a full refund once it has been opened.

No it doesn't. All they have to do is file "not as described"-----doesn't matter if they opened it and played it and redeemed all the DLC. You'll have to take it back and issue the refund. Period.

It's as simple as the buyer saying "game disc didn't work... want to return for refund".

I guess I'm lucky I've been selling on ebay for many years and still have a 100% feedback and no complaints here :)
I guess many of you just have bad luck :(

Selling on eBay is hardly worth the anxiety. One scumbag buyer can ruin your hard earned reputation and accumulated savings. It's basically a 1 month free rental for them.

As expected from other people's experiences, I too have received a damaged Ghosts edition. I was prepared for it, and, luckily, it's only on one of the corners. I called Amazon immediately after I got it, and I received 20% back. I could've probably received more if I argued, but I feel like this is an issue on the wholesale-side of things. My actual shipping box was pretty much spotless, and the innards had a bunch of brown paper and bubble wrap on the actual Ghosts edition. It could also be the case that the material is just straight-up garbage, and it kind of just naturally undid itself.

Honestly, Bungie should be doing the reimbursement, or whoever it is that handled getting the supply of these to the retailers. I can't imagine these various companies enjoy taking it on the chin due to irresponsibility on a party they really have no control over.

I received my Xbox One Ghost Edition yesterday and of course all 4 sides were split to the top. It was pretty damn bad. I contacted support and they of course offered the 20% but after a little pushing I got them to give me 50% off of the ghost edition. It sucks the box got destroyed but I'll take $75 for the ghost edition.

This is 100% true^

Buyers are "GOLDEN" to Ebay, and if they decide they want to return something, your out of luck.

Yes, you have been lucky, but like anything in life, it's a numbers game. I get 1 or 2 "BAD" customers a year, but I sale hundreds of items annually, so the more you sale, the more likely you'll have issues.

I know several business owners, and clowns are part of doing business. How many disgruntled customers do you think Apple, MS, Sony, or "N" has on an annual basis? Hundreds, if not thousands.

The amount of stuff I sale, and the money made far outweighs the few bad apples. Once I have an issue with a buyer, I add them to my "block bidders" list, and I never deal with the same person twice. I also very accurately show any and all issues when and where I can, so I try to remove the possibilities of issues, but no matter what, I always get a few.

You sell semi-professionally on eBay, of course you can bury the scumbags as statistics. Of course the retailers can write them off as cost of doing business as well.

I have a day job and have to teach on weekends. I only sell my finished games on eBay, maybe two or three games per month ad sometimes my CE when I am in need of cash. And by doing so I get around $10-$30 more than trading into GS and can have cash instead of GS credit. All I need is one scumbag buyer that opens an unfair case and my savings of three months could just disappear.

[CASE] Last time I listed Stree Fighter IV under the SF4 game category, had three pictures taken and did my own carefully written description/title. The buyer played it for a month and opened a case saying only "This is not Stree Fighter cross Tekken". eBay forced me to give the refund, and the buyer didn't even ship the game back. [/CASE]

eBay does nothing to protect the small personal sellers like myself who cannot afford to have those unfair cases, and yeah I know it doesn't make a difference if I left eBay (which I have, and had great success doing a CAG lowball when I moved), but I believe collectively the personal sellers make up quite a portion of their business aside semi-professional sellers like you.

PSA to everyone, as a Best Buy employee on the East Coast

We are able to order the Ghost Edition for all systems through OMS (our online ordering system). They won't be eligible for in store pickup but qualify for free UPS shipping. At time of writing there are about 50 of each at our local warehouse.
