If you haven't played it yet, I strongly recommend Shadow of Mordor. I describe to friends as "Assassin's Creed without all the boring stuff."

I am only about 50% done with the game, so there might still be some padding near the end that I haven't seen yet.

I beat that in 3 days, very short and story missions arent even all that great. i give it a 7.8

By any chance, did you play the trial? Do you know where it takes place within the game? I don't mind not being carried through a game, but the mission didn't even inform me of the target until I just started mashing buttons and happened to click the left stick in, which then triggered a sequence, revealing the target.

In the trial your target is a Recruiter, and you're supposed to kill him by blowing up a powder keg barrel he walks by.

Edit: I looked it up and it seems to be the 5th sequence into the game. I assume by that point players would be a bit more familiar with the game and it's design. Hmm...

That may have nothing to do with the games, it happened to me once. Try going to your system settings and looking for license update or something along those lines.

That is what interests me too, but it's also true I'd likely have Italian settings for it, so I wonder how well the Kinect works in Italian (or with my far from perfect English). Out of the true Kinect games, I'm really interested in the new Kinect Sports but that's about it so far (for the 10 bucks it asks I'll probably pick up the Dance Central game too), so I'm debating it. Oh well, I guess come the time I decide to pick it up I'll see what to do and how my wallet looks then.

Anybody who bought skate 3 having trouble connecting to a multiplayer session with people who have the disk based version?  (I've seen a similar issue with Rainbox Six where the downloadable and disk based version were incompatible but can't find anything that says the same about skate 3)

I think it's hilarious that the better elements of an AC game have not been assassin related, such as with the ship combat in 3 and the pirate sim in 4 and now Shadows of Mordor is described that way.

I hope they can revitalize the franchise. Or maybe it's time for it to die. I don't know. I still remember the magic of the first one, just because it felt new at the time.

On second thought, they should just drop the AC series and go back to Prince of Persia 2008. Also forget that horrible epilogue dlc.
 
Uses 6 Kinects and projectors. Probably not cheap. I'm thinking they are trying to make a more affordable/easier to set up device before releasing a consumer version.

Just saw this on Gizmodo and was about to post it. Seeing as how it looks like it uses an entire ceiling-worth of Kinects & projectors, I'd wager a guess that this runs triple the price of IllumiRoom, egads.

On the flipside, going back to what I said earlier, I'm sure it would make an awesome update to that Nickelodeon show from the early-90s where the kids interacted with bluescreen like they were actually part of the arcade game--aptly titled "Nick Arcade" --I loved that show so much.

I'm thinking this week's sales will go one of two ways:

1.  Last week was an Ass sale, so this week it's all about boobs (Catherine, Double Dragon Neon, Rumble Roses, Dead or Alive) or racks (some billiards game).

2.  They are running out of FPS to list so it's going to be Bioshock or a third person shooter like Dead Space or Gears of War on sale.

Whoa whoa whoa, you can't just make claims about games being boob-themed without providing some evidence to back up your claims. Animated gifs are admissible.

 
It's been a few weeks since the last Rockstar sale, right? 

Anyway... I'd like to see a Double Dragon Neon sale. I've got it for the PS3... but I don't OWN a PS3, so that presents a bit of a logistics problem.

(Mental note: buy a damned PS3 eventually)

 
Since my toystory 3 sale dont seem to ever wanna happen i do hope dead space goes on sale

wouldnt mind dropping 10 bucks for both 1 and 2

ds 1 and 2 went on sale a few weeks ago for the ps3 so you could get lucky this week. i loved toy story 3. got the plat on my ps3 and bought a xbl copy for $10 bucks when it went on sale. it was just added to steam and people are already hating on it.

I don't think ds2 is available on demand on the 360. I would have bought it already. I could be wrong though.
 
I've never played an Assassins Creed game, and from everything I hear about the series I'm kinda glad.

I can't speak for now - I bought Sniper Elite 3 on XB1 the week of release. That weekend, I tried MP. No joke, out of a 12 man lobby, they filled four slots. So it was 2 on 2. If that sounds fun, fast-paced, or exciting, I described it wrong. I would say buy SE3 for single-player and if you get MP out of it, consider it a bonus. The SP is a decent game. A bit rough around the edges at times, but worth a play.

Lot of love for Toy Story 3 in here. Is the game really that good? Been awhile since I've played a game based on an animated kids film but wouldn't mind trying TS3. I wonder if it makes you cry like the movie did...I mean, not that I cried. I'm a 25 year old male. No way a kids movie would make me cry. :cool:

Ass Creed 2 was free a while back, I think it's worth playing to check out what's it all about. They captured the Italian style and history brilliantly, and it's a lovely game overall - I did not have much interest in the series until MS gave that title for free. Yeah, the franchise is being milked and all, but that game? A stunning achievement in gaming, I doubt any other episode beats it (did not play all of them though).

Yeah, I totally didn't cry either. And my wife totally didn't catch me and she totally doesn't make fun of me to this day.

As for the game, my kids had it on wii and I remember it being pretty fun. I would imagine 360 version is better and if it went on sale I'd pick it up for sure. For the kids.
 
Buy the AC games if you haven't played them. $10 is worth it. Brotherhood and Revelations were both good and I really liked 3 personally.

AC2 was free recently though, and I feel like you could get it cheaper in physical form. Still. Great games, worth owning and playing just for the story. Its really good.

The toy box mode is really fun. I don't think the game has the same emotion.

Hoping we get another good sale tonight, but at the same time I have way too much to play so I'm kind of hoping it sucks haha. Considering making a jump to next gen soon so I should probably pump the brakes on these digital sales. Need to learn to exercise a bit of restraint

 
I'll add to the AssCreed 2 love. After playing the first on launch day 7 years ago(has it really been that long???), I stayed away from the others until AC2 became a GWG freebie. Jumped into it then and this game is a GEM. Absolutely loved it. Then I proceeded to play the sequels after that - Revelations, Brotherhood and AC3 - and AC2 is still the best. I have ACIV and I just got AC Liberation, so haven't played those yet. But AC2 is such a good game. I'd 100% the achievements in that game if I had the time

The first is a brilliant idea, but has so many things that are wrong. The combat mechanics are weird as hell, the endless travels are annoying, some of the achievements are plain ridicolous (there's over 400 flags to find in giant areas, what the actual fuck), you can't swim... yet there was an insane potential for something epic. Ass Creed II is where it clicked, every rough edge was smoothed, a better storyline and setting was given, more variety and stuff to do, no more annoying cheezmints (not THAT annoying anyway)... the superior game.
