The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games. There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

I thought that it requires a modded card like an r4? If thats the case it'll only be good until nintendo upgrade there firmware.

I just finished TITS FC two nights ago. I can't wait for the sequel. Xseed better release it.

Yes. Ebay is pretty much the worst site to buy figures. Check out import shops like amiami, nippon yasan and hobbylink japan. If you're in the states and dead set against importing there's some decent options like kirin hobby, animate usa and anime island.

In non-creepazoid-targeted game news, there's a famitsu edition of Yakuza Zero that's like 150 damn dollars and it just includes a flask. Granted, it's a pretty dope flask, but holy cow.
 
ok I have seven memory cards for sale.  Only one has been claimed and paid for.  It's first come first serve, 1-2 per person.  I'm taking payments through Paypal of $6 shipped and I'm only shipping to the US.   Add $.50 for Paypal fees (2.9% + .30)  or else gift the payment.   That's $6.50 paid as goods.  Yes, I am taking a very tiny loss on these.   If you're going to be difficult, then don't PM me.  Just trying to do a favor for a few people and I'm not dealing with noob buyers.  Shoot me a PM if you want to buy one.  Lots of people said they wanted to buy one yesterday but then nobody paid.

I got it at launch. The game runs just like the PS3 version so far. My main complaint right now is that either there is a glitch and the English VA has trouble or KT cut the English VA from the PS3 version in places to fit in the Japanese dub. Some scenes have the VA cut, others only having one key phrase or every other word play. They don't seem to respond to tweets or just so many Atelier fans wanted a Japanese dub that no one seems to care.

That's just how the PS3 version was. Probably less than half the game was dubbed. It's my biggest complaint with these niche games.

yeah I disliked that as well. Especially when they don't seem to know how to be consistent about it. Its one thing whe you have occasional scenes not voiced or pull a symphonia where even occasional side quest scenes are. But stuff like disgaea takes it a little too far.

It actually has LESS English voice acting than the PS3 Version.

Right off the bat, Regina's introduction isn't voiced until randomly in the second half and then an early scene where Wilbell finds Ayesha's wallet has two or three of the lines voiced despite the PS3 version having both segments voiced. Even something as simple as Ayesha making a noise while jumping was either removed or not placed in the new version.

But what can you expect? They bring in all the VAs to do the bonus year in New Rorona Plus and don't bother to get a sound clip of her yelling "Barrel!"

Hm? Aren't most story scenes in Disgaea voiced? I've only played 2 and 4 and it seems every in between mission cutscene is voiced.

Oh wow, how could they cut even more? Taking stuff out of an enhanced edition is pretty backwards thinking.

Y'know what, Totori's the only one that gets a "Barrel" voice. How can you not voice an iconic thing like that. Also Totori doesn't get the rooster sound when she rests. Though those are when Nisa was doing it. I wish they'd be consistent about it.

Escha&Logy did include voices for when you gather while you're in the field which I appreciate. Though the overall voice acting quality took a dip imo, plus all the typos is aggravating. I hope they do a better job with Shallie.

 
Any ideas on where to grab Hatsune Miku 2nd (ps3) and/or Akiba's Trip (ps4) for less than MSRP? It seems like there hasn't been any deals for these.

AT PS4 was $40 at amazon before they raise the price. Already sold out on bestbuy so wont matter if you have GCU

Nah, tsundere is basically cold but loving. The Audrey character in this case is just really extreme (or perhaps realistic) and not just cold but extremely bitchy.
