My friend had two preoder cards, got there just before 10am. Already was a long line and they fufilled all preorders before they for to him. Store only received 7 total.

So a pre order card doesn't guarentee getting one? I know I'm asking a stupid question, but what is the point of those cards?
 
Yup. My Lucario is on his way here from Germany...should be here next week and join the crew. 

Couldn't care less about the packaging.

I'm sorry, but this looks better than any "Wall of Plastic and Cardboard" I've seen on here.

I didn't pre-order Lucario because I've never been a Pokémon person.  I pre-ordered all the other Wave 3 amiibos.  Now, because they are flying off the shelves I seem to care.  This is not good.  I need to re-think my life. ;)

I personally never had good experience with TRU and in-store pre-orders. I've had more luck talking to associates a couple days before a release and asking them to slap a sticky note on an item with my name for the day it comes out.

Thats just in my personal experience though with the Toys R Us around me.

 
Just got back from TRU. Had a terrible experience... 

So was told they would have 35 Lucarios the night before and should be no issues. Showed up this morning at 9:40 and waited with 5 people in front of me. When they let us in they told us to line up at the register. I was first at the register while the 5 in front of me had gone to the supply door waiting there. When they came out they only had 6 so I figured I would at least get 1 then. When the guy came back to the register he went to the opposite register and let the guys that stood by the supply door go first. Fair enough since they were in front of me. The problem happened when they only had two left and they argued that I was in the wrong line and these people where waiting before me. I unfortunately did not get one this morning.

 
Sounds like an in store mess, I have one preordered through their website, one through their ebay store and two in store. Im only on the hunt for one to open and one to keep packaged so if I end up with 4 I'll happily trade for a Meta Knight!

Did your friend just have the card, or did he actually have a legitimate preorder (receipt showing a $1 deposit)?

I bet I know what happened. Remember when Bowser/Toon Link/Sheik hit TRU? Some of those stores put Lucario out for sale and some sold. I'd wager your preorder was sold days ago accidentally.
 
22 Lucario, 22 pre orders.  Some of the folks in line said they saw employees taking small, amiibo sized bags to their cars before the store opened, but they could have been pre-orders too.  They seemed pretty adamant about checking pre-orders so hopefully that's the case at other stores for those who ordered there.

Don't suppose anyone ever heard back from those Lucario orders that TRU put up on eBay? I had an online order placed there and through TRU proper, but I'm not holding my breath on either.

 
I'm not the biggest fan of the "Is it rare? Is it not rare?" conversation but I am quite surprised that there is so few Lucario being reported this morning. Hopefully most people were able to pre order.
 
Showed up Waterford Lakes TRU in Orlando, FL around 8:10 and was 4th in line. Around 9:50, there were about 30 people in line. Manager comes out and says all pre-orders are filled and waiting to be picked up while an additional 8 were available, 1 per person. Walked out with mine with no problems.

 
There was around 15 people in line at my TRU - I'd guess around 7 who had actual pre-orders and another 8 who didn't. I think all of the people who didn't have preorders walked away successful. They still seemed to have extras when I was leaving. One of the guys picking up preorders had bought 6 and the system was hardcoded to only allow 3 per transaction. I think he was trying to be discreet, but once the cashier started struggling the dude got some dirty looks.

Considering there is only 2 TRU stores in my area - that means there is only like 30 people tops who will wait in line at opening to get an amiibo. There's literally about 30 Targets here, so if the same people line up for Rosalina none of us should have any issues.

My Falcon shipped from their ebay store amidst them cancelling online preorders so I wouldn't be concerned yet.
 
Success! Had 4 spares and I got the first of 4. Also was able to get toon link.

Returned my bowser and rebought along with a pikachu to get the 4 @ $44 deal.

Now it's time to go to work lol
 
I should add that it looked like my TRU had received more than 50 Lucario total, with the vast majority going towards preorders.

Seeing as most stores I talked to before today said they had 30+ Lucario I am surprised how many people are being turned away. Either there were a lot more pre-orders in-store than I thought or my area got all the Lucario Amiibo's.

Cheers. I've actually got him and Meta Knight coming from Japan, so I'm not sweating the pre-orders too much. I just can't seem to trust any retailers with these anymore.

Except maybe Gamestop. They seem to have their shit together.

how is someone an obvious reseller? The people i've seen that I was pretty sure were resellers were people who look like crack addicts and this one guy that kept saying he wasn't a reseller even though no one asked him, that's just a pretty good sign you're a reseller.

They were talking about how flipping paid for their recent vacation to Vegas. Which then they talked about how much stuff they missed out on while they were gone
 
got my lucario today got the last one only had 6 that were not for preorder sad part is people who were in the front of the line didnt get them  because they didnt tell anyone where to pick them up but luckily i got one 

 
If you're in the south jersey area and didnt pre-order, there is nothing left at deptford, cherry hill or burlington.
For all of you who did pre-order, they each said they saved enough for pre-orders.
Deptford got 8 extra, according to some guy in line who went then rushed to the one I was at. The other two only got 2 extra.


I got nothing. Oh well.
 
I had success this morning as well, though my store was selling the pre-orders as others have mentioned.  They had one in the WHSE by itself with another box marked as pre-orders.  I showed up about 10 minutes before opening with only one other guy waiting outside.  Wec chatted it up a bit while they searched the WHSE, initially only finding one.  Eventually the guy came back with the aforementioned box, but he either didn't notice or care.

I felt kinda bad buying someone else's reserve, but it did only cost them $1 and they should have been there... at least that's how I'm trying to justify it to myself.

My TRU was also only limiting one per customer(though no one tried to - that's just what I was told while I was talking to the employee), and they only got 4 in.
