I think the problem with that review is that it actually seems like he's going to give it an 8 or above. He likes the visual upgrades, but knocks it for keeping the original gameplay intact. He also got a lost in a linear game.

GWG games will be BC from November, they phrased it wrong during Gamescom.

When do they announce GWG? Last tuesday or thursday?

My copy of Gears from the MS store just shipped too. Time to see if they get it right and give me my $15 in credit or if I'll have to call them and harass them for it.

They aren't the same. It's getting great praise and scores elsewhere for a 9 year old game. I used to like Gamespot but since this generation has come out i have hated them. Not sure if people left or what but that site is literally crap now. Very inconsistent with their reviews these days. Used to be spot on during 360/ps3 generation.

Value wise: if you someday want to seriously play MUT in Madden 16, the preorder bonus, gcu discount, and deluxe edition along with playmaker dlc bonus makes it a better value than say waiting for Madden to drop low enough to justify getting the deluxe and buying additional packs with cash. Right? Anyone?

Sorry to dredge up an older post but it is still quite relevant to me. I've been trying to get my GT changed for not $9.99+tax but I keep running into various roadblocks:

  • Support rep --> My account is older than x months and so I can't take advantage of the free one-time GT change.
  • Xbox app in Win10 --> I've already used my fre one-time GT change so I cannot do it again (utterly not true).
The only place I've seen it mentioned that you have to make the change is within the first X months of having the account, and I've only seen that officially mentioned in chat with support. Everywhere else, including the links above and in the Xbox app don't mention any restriction to this. Can anyone offer any insight as to whether I can change my GT for free or not? TIA.

I just went through another chat session with support, and they said that since I originally chose my own GT, which was done well before the setup process would suggest one for you, I am not eligible for a free change.

they're calling it the gears of war ultimate edition, even though there is additional dlc to buy? and that is called the "deluxe" version??

and apparently there is additional dlc that isn't even included in the deluxe version?

Originally they called it the Gears of War: Pay Up Sucka! edition. But I guess the realized that may not go over well with fans.

Pretty sure all that DLC is weapon and player skins. There is no way they would include all of that in either of these bundles, there is too much money to be made.

 
All the extra stuff is just cosmetic as far as I know. I'd be frustrated if it were levels or anything but I don't care about weapon and character skins. But I agree if it's a remaster it should include everything and there should be no paid dlc

Deluxe Edition is best for MUT. $10 more and comes with $50 worth of MUT packs. So you'd have to wait for Madden to hit $20 to get the same value if you buy packs separately. By that time it will probably be in the vault.

This is the 2nd year in a row that Best Buy has had a $30 trade in for the previous year's Madden, so I definitely recommend getting a disc so you can trade up next year for $30/$40.
 
hey they can sell whatever Gears dlc they want. they should just be careful how they throw around the word ULTIMATE

Goat Sim: Mmore Goatz Edition will be $9.99 when it launches later this week. No word yet on if there is a lesser 'upgrade' cost for those of us that already own the standard version.

Achievements for it are also posted. There is a 90G achievement called Butthurt. ("Do a lot of hurt. With your butt.") Hope that one is easier than Flappy Goat. Still haven't gotten that one...

I have no problem with paid dlc for the people that play Barbie dress up.
 
What's funny about games like Madden 16 is that I have so many other games to play that the 10 hour demo from EA Access may even last me until the game is added to the Vault. I like sports games but they are something I only play here and there so EA Access is perfect for me to have basically all of the sports available to play on the fly as last year's versions PLUS these generous demos.

EA Access at $30 a year truly is an incredible bargain with all of the non-sports stuff too.

I just hope they don't start raising the price as the Vault grows and if 360 games start to be added.

I don't think you can use Xbox Live credit on EA Access. It's $30 and you get every EA game to play as much as you want within a year. It's the best value for any of their games since buying them at launch is a bad deal in comparison.

If you've got to have it right this second, then Best Buy or whatever is fine.

yea you can't use it. At one point I had like 5 left in my wallet and was gonna check out ea access. Had to buy it with a credit card, can't remember if paypal was an option
