I'm actually insulted by the Turok re-release price. I was under the impression, don't know why, that it was 1 and 2 in one package. Turok is far from a classic, though I do have especially fond memories of Seeds of Evil. I guess Nightdive has to pay for their System Shock remake/imagining somehow.
Gotta love the cerebral bore.

Why the fuck am I considering the Squareidosnix $10 mystery bag?
Stupid? Haha j/k. Humans like mystery...until the mystery is revealed and generally is not something they wanted. I am tempted too but mainly want the newer FF games (yes I want to play the ugly FF6 PC version).

It's not a bad buy if you're missing most square enix games. Definitely pass if you own a lot of them though.

Yeah, pretty much no chance of it having FF games

I think it's the first game Nightdive has put any real work into. If you check their other games, it's all shit that they've slapped onto steam without any steam features or any enhancements. Some minor work was done to System Shock 2, but I think GOG did that lol.

My guess is that they feel that the labor they put into the game justifies the high price.. which it doesn't. You can't overprice an old game just because you tweaked it and made it look a bit better. Completely remaking it would be a different story though.

Anybody want to guess what's in that Squeenix Mystery Box of Already-Been-Cheap-So-It's-A-Rip-off Poop? I'm betting it'll be like Thief, Sleeping dogs, Just Cause 1, Kane and Lynch 2, and maybe a final fantasy game. Or maybe not.

Hopefully its not a bunch of awesome. Might make me regret not giving them my drivers license, SSN, passport, and left thumb to be able to buy from the site.

Clicker Heroes isn't especially complicated, but I'm not sure how long it would hold the interest of a young person. It appeals to an oddball sort of person that enjoys tedium (me!). It's colorful and easy to pick up though, so it wouldn't be a bad place to start.

I didn't catch the part about why you wanted them to be free. There are loads of cheap bundles that would offer a good start. You could also find lots of really cheap games in the trade thread. Heck, if it really came down to it, I'm sure some of the more generous CAGs around here might have a few games from our duplicate key lists to donate if we knew the types of games she liked to play.
I just wanted some free games to test the waters to how much she will actually use her steam account that i set up. I actually have a shit ton of extra keys but i need to sort through them. I have years of junk from various bundles on bundlestars, groupees, humblebundle, indiegalla, indieroyale, green man gaming, hell, even stuff like shiny loot, ect. I havent redeemed hardly any of them either. Ive been going through and trying to write them all down and get them sorted but its taking for friggin ever. Plus the handful that i have redeemed i cant recall from what bundle they were from so im not sure how to check on that.

Like right now. Im considering buying that Baldurs gate enhanced edition bundle. I know i bought the first one but cant recall if i got the 2nd or Icewind dale enchaned. >_< I really got to get that list done

anyway thanks for the suggestions guys. So far i have these:

Spiral Knights (MMO though), Relic Hunters Zero, Heroine's Quest, Eternal Senia, clicker heroes and maybe marvel heroes 2015. Anyone got any other suggestions?

Alright, so Piko Interactive just posted this response on their blog (quoted below, in case they end up retracting it due to legal ramifications.) Man, this controversy has gotten quite diverse in the last few days.

"It’s been an honor to work with Retroism and help get an official and supported version of the original Bubsy games into fans hands. In order to get the games available for digital distribution, we have used an emulation tool with the permission of the two original creators of that software over a decade ago (Gary Henderson and Jeremy Koot). Today some very vigilant community member pointed out that some strings of code from subsequent contributors we’re in the build we used. This was not code that contributed to the functionality of the gameplay and we are quickly working through the emulation code to remove it. This was purely an unintentional human error and we sincerely apologize. We have already submitted a new build today where we have identified and removed the code that should not have been there and will continue to do so until it has all been removed. We do want to emphasize these changes will not have an effect on the game play, features or stability of the game. Once we are sure that no contributor’s work is included without their consent we will publish our version and additions to the emulations which of course will be free to use."

https://pikointeractive.com/blog/emulator-issue-update-1-0/
In other words, 'We were lazy and didn't cover our tracks and got caught, but thanks for pointing that out so we can remove the evidence trail'.
Also, one of the other Snes9x devs says it doesn't matter if they got permission from the two they named (who reportedly only worked on early unstable versions of that emulator without audio) because they need to have permission from all of the developers to use the version they are using.

Neither I nor any of the other developers I've contacted so far gave permission for snes9x v1.43 to be used in this commercial manner. I have no idea whether Jerremy Koot or Gary Henderson gave permission, but that doesn't actually matter since permission is required from all of the other developers as well, for the version of snes9x used. We are discussing our legal options.

I still want FF6 PC, as well - just not at those prices.

Would be nice if someone mods the old sprites or if Squeenix officially releases the old-sprites in as an extra option into FF6 PC.

I loved FF6+7 on my old PSX.

Meh, we can't check all the codes.

Gamesplanet.fr have Metal Gear Revengeance (?) €3.99. That's likely cheaper than we'll see in the upcoming sale.

It's probably cheaper on Nuuvem but I suspect it's region-locked there.
Still seems overpriced for a game that's like 12 minutes long. I bought it for my kid from Five Below for his PS3 and he was done with it in an evening. Good thing I only paid $5 for it.

Different Strokes...

It's a decent enough deal for someone who doesn't have any of that, but a lot of us OCD collectors already do from various other deals. Well minus the MMO. :p

Oh and back to Descent, isn't "Interplay" basical just Burger Becky at this point?

On a related note, she finally finished that damned Chess game Battle Chess game, almost 2 years late of course. It's a Christmas miracle!

Wow, Kinda glad I got the box now. That isnt TOO shabby.
Remember that that Tomb Raider game has a save glitch that makes playing it less fun that Russian Roulette but just as rewarding... Also crap optimization. There is a reason why this is the only TR game I down own on steam...

Anyhow, glad I saved my money... (and I own none of those games.)

Wow, a whole 10% off Life is Strange Eps 2-5.

Deal of the decade.
 Yeah the just giving the first part is rather eyerolly and those coupons are pretty lol why bother? Maybe the Just Cause 3 one is a little help since some people might be itching to buy it right away (and maybe it would stack with another crappy token sale on the Winter Sale) but the rest of the coupons are like Really?

*Edit: Unless it's a Squeenieidosix store coupon then ewww

Yeah, yeah... it's great if this is your first trip off the mountain where you've spent your life herding yaks, and you just learned what a computer is.

Thief is old at this point, Temple of Osiris is buggy junk only largely made playable by laughing along at it with with Fox & Spoder, and they only gave the first episode of Life is Strange? Plus those trash coupons for the Square-Enix store in case you have a computer that doesn't go to Steam, GMG, etc. Maybe the FF games are awesome or something; that franchise ain't really my bag.

I had to buy Osiris back anyway in spite of everyone trash talkin it because those dirty Swedes stole it from me.

Of course I got it with the season pass on some dirt cheap Newegg sale with an additional % off on top of that.

Still probably not worth it but my pride! Anyway, I'll never play it so it looks good enough in my library. :p

Well decent meaning, they least DID add a Real Final Fantasy Title, which wasnt expected. The MMO is hit and miss, but there is at least demand for that if you trade it. Life is strange... yea.. whatever here.

Theif and TR.. I dont play really anymore.

Kinda wish these would be steam codes.

Osiris was a four hour game stretched into a seven hour game by the three of us trying to figure out when we were having trouble with a puzzle and when the puzzle was just broken and we'd have to return to a previous save point and start over, hoping it worked this time.  95% of the time, it was the second one.

They're not? EWWWWW

I thought they gave up trying to pitch PC games from their own site after that FF7 fiasco.

Putting game that requires a subscription fee... pretty cheap
It still costs money for the game itself I believe and should come with a free trial month I would assume. If nothing else you can sell or trade it. Better than a 10% off coupon. eh.

We played Gunnheim last night.  Had 6 people show up (seriously, we only got 3 for Streetfighter, but 6 for this?).  It's a top down twin stick shooter thing arpg?  I don't know.  You choose a person, you shoot things.  It's randomized in that you have to pass 8 random levels before passing to the next area, but the difficulty spikes can be ridiculous.  And then when you pass the first area, the next area just gets super hard to the point you are just trying to run to the exit and hoping you don't die in the process.  My group gave up after dying to a fish boss over and over again.

It was worth it though just to hear Bobby mack on a hottie over skype or something.  For the eavesdropping, I do apologize.  Bobby's mic was on mute but then randomly we'd hear him having a convo about random crap with some girl and then we'd say something funny to alert him of the issue and his mic would cut out.  So I assumed he was aware that his convo was accidentally being transmitted at times.  Turns out he wasn't and it was just randomly cutting in and out.  And then by the time we realized this like he had said like some super crazy things that I'm not going to repeat, but by that point it was like, well, what's the point of letting him know now because after hearing that there's nothing that could be more embarrassing.  It's okay Bobby.  Asking a girl to wear a raccoon costume and rub her body with slices of Domino's pizza is totally normal.

I was going to join but I tried the game solo and had about the same experience.

According to the linked post, everything's a Steam code except the MMO FF game. I'm genuinely unsure why they couldn't provide Steam keys for FF XIV, unless they just couldn't be arsed to bother.

It's not a terrible deal if you don't have Thief and might be interested in FF XIII, but both of those Lara Croft games are awful (IMO) and if you had been on the fence about it, you're better off waiting on a deal on the whole set of Life is Strange.

Well shit, I was wrong about them not including a Final Fantasy game. Too bad that's the only real value in the pack, and most of us own Osiris by now.

The only good part of Thief was the boss fight with Snidely Whiplash.

I got about 15 minutes into Osiris and couldn't do it. I loved Guardian of Light but I just couldn't feel Osiris. Also Diablo loot in my puzzle shooter game? Get out of here.

My group had issues staying alive during the first set of levels but we did pretty good after we got the hang of it. We got far, but the game wasn't all that great. Seriously though, we were packed that night for Gunnheim yet hardly anyone wanted to play Street Fighter?! What's wrong with you guys?

Don't lie. You loved dat shit cuz it's not an indie game!

Why would most of us own Osiris? Did I miss something? I only have Guardian of Light
People were getting it for free after complaining to Amazon (Amazon had the game + season pass listed and people were only getting the base game). It also used to be cheap back when russian 4 packs were still a thing. I got mine for 1 tf2 key many months ago.

Well, that Squeegee bundle was somewhat better than expected. I don't think I have any of these games on Steam (didn't buy Amazon Osiris Gold for the little Lara figure, didn't bitch about a key for it, and didn't Putingate it) and I would have enjoyed giving the FFXIV code to my gf, who pays for dat shit monthly. I assume it's a 30-day play code since the downloader is free to install, and if it's not it has zero worth in the bundle.

You got two copies for free. They sent the base game, you'd complain and they'd promise to send you the complete bundle. Then they send the base game again, you complain and they say "Screw it, take your money back" leaving you with two free copies of the base game.

But, really, the people who did that did originally intend to get the base+SP as advertised for the $6 or whatever it was. It just didn't shake out that way.

Yeah, even though Osiris isn't supposed to be very good, I want it just to play some co-op with the wife. She loved the first one and any time I can get her to play a game, regardless of quality, is a win in my books.

Glad SE didn't want my money. FFXIII worst FF game I have played. Only one I can remember not finishing that I started. Have heard the 2nd and 3rd installments are actually good though. Maybe that makes playing it worthwhile.

I dunno if you guys have been on the internet or watched tv or listened to the radio or read a magazine or thought a thought in the past couple of weeks or months, but apparently there's a new Star Wars movie out today.

It totally flew under my radar because I haven't, AT ALL, been inundated in every form of media created, and even some not yet created, with all of it's fucking stupid-ass, difficult to digest, barely related (Star Wars themed light side and dark side cars!?) marketing dog shit.

So, just thought, for those few of you interested, ya know... it's out and stuff.
