WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Anyone know of a credit mover from BB to GS using the 50% coupon? I have like $200 in gift card and I'm trying to move a good chunk of it to GS.

Edit: UFC 2 seems to be one, but I would like to know more :D

It's probably a $1-2 loss (depending on your sales tax), but Twilight Princess HD is $48+tax (w/GCU), the game is 43.20 after 50% and the amiibo is 6.60. Accessories don't get the 50% but you could do the 20% towards Star Fox for an extra $1.20.

Thanks. With the Fry's sale though I found a few 3DS titles you can PM.

Hyrule Warriors legends

Pokemon super mystery dungeon

Hyrule Warriors legends will net you some $ but I lose $.42 for the other games (8.25% sales tax)

That should be enough to move what I want.
 
I got a 50% bonus credit towards The Division coupon and had a question for those who have used it. Will it work on all items in a transaction if I trade in like $100 worth of stuff, or will it only work for just enough items to pay for the game?

All eligible items you trade in will get the boost. It isn't capped at the item amount.

 
Sweet, time to cash out on this pile of games. And I assume no one has had trouble trying to return The Division later after using the coupon? I should be good with a gift receipt right?

I'm going to hit up another pawn shop and a buybacks today after work to see if I can get a couple more games. I've been getting really lucky. Found GTA 5 PS4 yesterday as was able to haggle it for $15. Buybacks always has B3G1 and was able to find a couple $20 games that have $20+ TIV's like Need for Speed.

Also found Shenmue 2 for $1 on Xbox, fucking score.

Right now I'm $140 OOP and should net $323 after buying The Division with the 50%  :D/

Resident Evil Revelations 2 for Xbox One is also only 4.95 at Frys. Trades in at $11 without the promo. Good luck with PM.

Edit: I thought maybe you could also trade this back to BB for a decent amount but it only trades in for $1 LOL

The official policy is one copy per system, but you might get an employee or manager that doesn't care, so it doesn't hurt to ask.

YMMV. The official policy is no, but there are some GameStops that overlook that rule.
 
I traded in 2 copies of Wii Sports in the other day in the same transaction and the rep didn't blink an eye. I know some employees at other locations I avoid that would care.

Damn, too much of a risk since they have to be opened. If I get denied, I might get stuck with one. Oh well thanks for the info.

This is why I only trade what I can get less out of pocket than the TIV. That way if I get denied, I can just trade it at another location. Even more confusing when a coupon for a promo is added to the mix.

 
Used my coupon.  Had to get rid of some non double games, but the amount was too high to pass up.  I'll be on the lookout to buy those back

For multiples, just make sure it's someone there that you were selling amiibo to at cost.  They will hook you up.

Just traded in $200+ worth of shit and had no issues putting the remainder (after The Division) on a trade card. 

One thing of note, the single retro game I traded in did not receive the 50% bump.  Looking at my receipt there is a "0.00T" refurb fee which might have excluded it from getting the bump.

No clue. It was an SNES game with sticker intact. It might be the default for vintage games at this location. The refurb fee wasn't a fee at all, it didn't take any value from the trade in, but, based on the rest of my receipt, it appears to have blocked it from getting the 50% bonus. The SNES game did get the 10% PUR bonus.

Might be a new thing now. In the past, refurb fees wouldn't prevent a promo from applying.
 
Converted around $150 from BB to GS (actually made a few bucks) and I also got the download codes from Hyrule Warriors Legends for free. Very happy!

It should bug you. That's straight up stealing.
 
Traded in a lot. Brought Division and told the cashier I didn't want it right after he handed me the receipt. He thought it was shady and said that's a way of "getting over the system". 5 minutes later... I walk out of GameStop with the Division refunded and an additional $60 on my Ebay card.
