Then why don't you go around buying every $1 book? They're "only" one dollar so you'd be stupid not to, right?

Also, give the URL bar above another look; CHEAPASS gamer. If you're hear complaining about people being cheap, you should reevaluate the communities you participate in.

Again, time is money. even being free, some people might want to still spend their time elsewhere...maybe by buying a $5 sundae, a thing they will actually enjoy.
I don't buy books and the last I checked this site isn't cheapassREADER.com
Who cares if it's only FIVE fuckING DOLLARS, not everybody wants to waste FIVE fuckING DOLLARS.
Because this is a site based on finding cheap games. If this clown is expecting to find a AAA game for less than $5 he needs to have his head examined.

Being a cheap gamer is one thing but apparently some of you mfers think everything may as well be free because your time is so valuable.

Speaking of time, the time and resources these developers and publishers put into these games is borderline ridiculous. There's a reason why there's really no middle ground in gaming these days
It's either AAA or indie because these games are so expensive to make, the employees behind them invest a ridiculous amount of time and talent to make them, and then they sell for a whopping $60. But then you have some apparent hobo asking if the shit is worth $5?!?

Again, of his "time" was of such value, why even ask the question?

But, hey, when studio after studio continues to close, we can all thank the idiots that really had to seriously pontificate, and the people that actually defended their bullshit, whether "their time" was really worth that $5.

if you have a backlog it's safe to say you already wasted money
The thing is, I have a HUGE backlog. It goes back to PS2 games (maybe PS1), but I won't bat an eye at $5 for a AAA current Gen game.

And for anyone saying "Well I don't like Kill zone so I don't think it's worth $5." Well, guess what? I don't like ribs. I'm sure not going to go onto cheapbbqribs.com and ask if these rkbs on sale at a Memphis BBQ joint are worth a fraction of what they normally cost. The person obviously had some interest in the game. So to ask if it's worth spending $5 on is laughable.

I hope to the bbq gods this is a real website.

e. It's not. Someone go make that a thing

why do you all keep referring to money in that negative connotation?  Was it money you got or could of spent on a prostitute or something?

Micro Vue update: I had seen in the forums that before it went wide people were complaining that is your sub lapsed for whatever reason you lost all your favorited shows and channels and DVR stuff. Forgot to add more to my account today for the renewal and fortunately it seems that they've changed that at some point since then. Once I subbed again everything was there still.

Decided not to get anything this week, although Homefront: The Revolution was mighty tempting because of this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fCzAXuLibk

Your move, Sony.

Then why the fuck even game? It's one thing to ask about some shitty 5th tier, no name publisher game. But asking if Killzone is worth $5?!?
Give me a fucking break.
What's his next post? "Hey, I was thinking about taking this girl to McDonald's. She promised to give me a bj if I bought her a happy meal. Is that worth it?"
It's FIVE fuckING DOLLARS.
Wow, relax and try to not be a douche nozzle. I'm looking for opinions on a game. Some people don't have a lot of time to play games. That's all. You need a hug or something? You're high strung, brother.

I don't have a lot of time to play games either. That doesn't change the fact that it was a pretty ridiculous question.

Had you said "Should I get Killzone or Murdered because I have limited gaming time?" would make sense. Asking if a AAA game that has a 15-20 hr campaign, multiplayer and I think averages around a 7 on meta critic (not that I really care about reviews) is just a bit crazy.

Are there AAA retail games that you wouldn't pay more than $3 for or something?

I get that this is CAG, but holy hell.

A lot of so-called AAA games aren't that great or for everyone. I just got a PS4 and hadn't paid a lot of attention to Kill zone when it came out. It's a simple question to a group that I assumed may have played it and had some perspective. You just wasted a lot of time arguing for some strange reason and I still don't know what anybody thinks of the game other than your opinion that's pretty darn good and I'm a farthead for asking about it. You're right though, it's only $5 so what the hell. I'll get it and make my own opinion. So how about that hug? Come on....come here ya big lug.

Games are too expensive. Don't give a shit how many sleepless nights a developer puts into a game. It's their job. They get paid to do what they do. Sometimes these poor tortured individuals all work towards what turns out to be a shitty game. Which is pretty much the case for Shadow Fall. It's a glorified tech demo rushed out to push PS4s. They probably worked those poor developers even harder to get this out the door, but the game sucks, so no it's probably not worth $5 to someone who gives a shit about the quality of games they play.

The industry is not a charity. It's a business that's run by the consumer. Time and overall disinterest has shown that certain games don't make the cut, and that's just the way shit goes. We are inundated by countless outside influences to buy every fucking game that comes out by trailers, websites, commercials, and metacritic reviews, but adding in guilt because you're afraid a studio is going to go under shouldn't be one of them. This site is for a person wanting a more frugal approach to their hobby, so don't be surprised when they aren't in a rush to drop their money on a crappy product.

The other month they had those super hero themed cars, and each one had it's own little trick it'd do.

I'd kill a man in front of his grandmother for the rest of those. We only got 3.
Did any actual Mcdonalds get the Cyborg car? My son really wanted one

I don't think any forum thread has made me laugh this much in years. By the way, if Killzone goes free on PlayStation Plus soon, it is not worth spending $5 on it now for a game they may not even boot up once before then.

I stopped reading after you said Shadow Fall was "just a tech demo".

You lost any credibility after that.

I'm all for a good hug.

I really do apologize for being a dick about it but it just baffled me that anyone would think any AAA retail game wouldn't be worth a few bucks. To bring McD's back into it, we're talking about getting a game that you'll get 15 hrs out of at least for the price of a shitty value meal.

Ehhhh, in 95 years when I'm dead and gone, my kid's kid's will be finishing up my backlog so no wasted money there.
Being a digital game, your grandchildren won't be able to play it because Sony's servers would have been shut down by then. :^)

Anyway, I hate the buy it just because it's cheap mentality. It's gonna cost you in the long run if you buy everything under the sun that's < $5. If you were interested in the game/series, sure it seems like a no brainer for you. But not everyone likes that genre or game. And being AAA does not guarantee a value of $5. Can't assume they're gonna get their money's worth if they hate it.

Can't assume they're gonna get their money's worth if they hate it.
Exactly. Value is subjective; "one man's garbage is another's treasure" yatta yatta

I had a debate with a misinformed friend who insisted that diamond wedding rings are completely worthless, assuming it has anything to do with the fact that, since De Beers manufactured demand for their diamonds, it indeed makes them pretty much worthless.

The thing is, my friend assumes that a wedding ring is the same as a regular diamond ring - unlike a conventional diamond, I don't ever plan on selling my wedding ring therefore its monetary value is irrelevant. The importance of what it represents - where we got it, its design, its symbolism - dictates its value to me.

Then again, not everyone understands the fundamentals of economics. Economics involves far more than mere dollars and cents.

im not sure if i love this place because i find out about games coming out that i would never know about or if i hate this place because i buy games i never would have heard of otherwise

It's not that good of a game. The smaller scale hurts it and your forced to reply missions a ton of times to advance the story. Then the whole game being bogged down with even more anime clichés than the first made it worse.

Guys, do not let Downwell slip by you. What a masterpiece. One of Devolver Digital's best. Personally my favorite of theirs. Addicting, perfect, unique, cheap and definitely their most challenging.

So apparently there are only two categories of games: glorified tech demos and games of the year.

I had no idea.
It's been pretty entertaining to watch you two go at it but really you have been ridiculous almost this entire conversation. From freaking out over what other people deem worth 5 dollars to now nit picking what he said when you know that isn't what he meant... You really seem to love arguing over nothing. Is it really that hard to just let it go? (stupid song now stuck in my head)

Ah, ok. So he can make a completely ridiculous statement about Kz being nothing but a tech demo, but it was crazy for me to respond to that?

Then he responds with a sarcasm bomb and I'm wrong for pointing out how ridiculous that comparison was?

Apparently I don't sit at the cool kid's table in the CAG cafeteria.

You just love to argue it seems. Cool kids table? seriously you seem like you have some sort of persecution complex. Its really insane watching how your mind warps things that people say.

Regardless I won't bother replying again as I won't get dragged down into this nonsense. Just learn to relax man you take things way more seriously than need be.
