PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

fuck I just got slapped for $7 on Prototype. The PS4 Biohazard bundle is $19.49.

Lords of the Fallen complete is $11.99. That's the one to grab if you want the DLC, which is $8 normally. The Ancient Labyrinth isn't worth $8 since it's 2-4 hours worth of content but the complete collection at $12 is a good deal if you're into Souls-type games.

you guys weren't kidding about the later levels of uncharted on crushing, there's some rage inducing shit. specifically the end of 17, I just couldn't move around aggressively enough to get the ammo/guns I needed without getting picked off mid-jump or something. the stuff in 18 so far is irritating in terms of sheer volume of dudes but the water helps confuse the AI. I'm definitely ready to get to the end.
I locked in $37.xx at Amazon last night. Today is the last day I can return UC4 to GS for credit (I bought it used). I have no desire to mess around with Crushing right now. Played some MP last night and while it was fun there isn't much to it. Just 3 modes. Without co-op I think I am done till fall. Hopefully it will work better then it did in UC3 but not really holding my breath. Probably rebuy it if the co-op is server based (vs having one person drop out and the game ending).

Im having fun running through Uncharted 1 and now 2.  Almost done with it.  I have a feeling I will start to get burnt out before I get to 4 though.  gotta stay strong.

There are some new Zen Pinball 2 table bundles.  One containing original tables split in a couple seasons and one containing the Marvel tables, again split in two seasons.

$16 for each original season

$22 & $23 for the Marvel seasons

Too many links to link but y'all know how to search.

Comixology launched an unlimited reading service today.  Pay $5.99 a month and read basically anything in their catalog on any of your devices..  Sounds like a pretty solid deal that I'll probably sign up for.  Free 30-day trial to start too.

You still have quite a few controller tossing areas left, not the least of which is the final boss fight.

The sale really isn't that bad. It's just big AAA games that you guys have probably either beat or don't care about.

Both Prototype's for $20 is pretty decent.

Both Darksiders (on PS3) for $12

Lords of the Fallen complete for $12

Life is Strange for $20

Injustice for $6

There's lots of pretty good deals.

Outside of Magneto, that seems to be the mantra of Xmen villains too. Or "I'm going to kill every mutant in the world! Try and stop me!"
That still has interesting political and personal ramifications though. They always make the politicians out to be bad guys tho, but put yourself in that world as a non-mutant without powers. I would probably want mutants dead too.

This is pretty awesome, might have to use it on occasion to keep up with the few series I try to follow. Definitely cheaper to do that every few months instead of buying them all.

The reason TV shows probably have better villains is because they have 13-24 hours to flesh them out with backstory and motivations and other goings on in their layer. A movie usually has 2-3 hours to do the same. Movies usually need a resolution by the end of the movie (unless planned sequels and whatnot), where a TV show can stretch that shit over a whole season or two. Not really that surprising.
Yeah that popped into my head the other night. TV has overtaken movies as the best way to tell a story. It was while I was watching Fargo season 1 which I loved. Man, there's just no way a movie would be able to do something like that.

Watching some ME: Catalyst footage. It looks a lot better with the lots of kick methods and the move away from gunplay. I do think an addition of a skill upgrade system could have been really nice, though. Be able to run faster, jump further, do more transitions, improve kick damage etc., as you progress through the game. Pairing that kind of thing with optional objectives to go back and complete once you've upgraded your character would have been pretty cool. Speedruns that only become possible to beat once you've opened up pathways that require your upgrades, stuff like that.

I don't see the Marvel bundles on the store, but the prices for the originals are very close to what you'd pay buying them separately. Maybe save a buck or two. Maybe better to wait/hope for a sale on the bundles. Then again, the bundles may end up hurting things because most people probably have a mix of tables from each of the bundles. So if the bundles go on sale but the smaller table packs don't that won't help anyway.

Zen is just deadset on making things more and more confusing when it comes to their tables.

Glad you replied because I skimmed over Zimm's post and didn't catch what it was about. Nothing explicitly says whether the entire catalog is available with the subscription service, though--if it is then that's a great deal. I looked around a bit and they have all of Sandman, Lucifer, Fables, Jack of Fables, Fairest, Preacher...pretty tempting.

I found them under the New This Week section.

Lumo is going to be $20. Ouch.

Thanks. They forgot to put the word "Zen" in the title, so they don't even show up when you search "Zen Pinball"

So yeah, like I was saying, even a sale on "Originals Season 1" and "Marvel Season 1" wouldn't help me because I own the 4-pack in each of them. Looks like I own at least 1 table from each of the seasons. So it's definitely a good idea to sell to noobies, but I'll probably still sit in hope of a sale on all the singular tables and packs at some point.

From the help page;

ComiXology Unlimited is the only subscription service to feature books from Image Comics and Dark Horse Comics, comiXology Unlimited also includes great titles from IDW Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Dynamite Entertainment, Kodansha Comics, Oni Press, Valiant Entertainment, Archie Comics, Fantagraphics Books, Humanoids, Action Lab Entertainment, Aspen Comics, Zenescope Entertainment and more.

So basically most of their shit that's not Marvel or DC.

Netflix with a direct attack on munkyflix:

"From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive US pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar."

https://media.netflix.com/en/company-blog/get-ready-for-summer-on-netflix-us

Looks like I can delay ordering that blu-ray box set of the MCU.
Well, it only says the "latest films". So earlier films like Iron Man 1, Captain America, etc won't be there. (And unfortunately aren't available anywhere to stream)

Yeah, but just because they carry comics from those publishers doesn't mean that they feature the entire selection. $5.99 for everything seems insane and is part of what makes me doubt it's complete; why would anybody buy a comic that takes less than an hour to read for $13 or whatever when they can pay $6 and read everything they want for a month?

Edit: This is the closest thing I can find to an acknowledgement that not everything is included:

I'll probably activate the free trial over the weekend or something and check it out since they don't want to give out hard details of what's included.

Nope, I'm excited to. Captain America 2 was great, far and away the best Marvel film. If they were all like that, or even close, then I would like them a lot more.
The directors and writers of these last 2 Captain America movies are taking over the next 2 Avenger's films so you can look forward to that.

That's why I said "most of their shit".

What what single issue comics are you reading for $13 a pop? Most brand new single issues are $5ish I think. And if you can read the collections in an hour, slow your roll and look at the damn art.

The Fables collections are $13 and is what I was using for that statement. They vary in length. The first volume is 127 pages and doesn't take long at all. Other volumes are twice that. I'd say an hour for most collections is a reasonable average for me, though.

Do you expect them to list every single comic one-off and series in the entire unlimited library? They listed the publishers they have books from and the popular ones from those pubs. If you want more, dig more.

And like I said, slow down and look at the art. I usually burn through one issue/chapter from a collection during the half hour it takes to eat lunch.

I just like to be the first one to post overly dramatic drivel about a sale. I haven't actually looked at it yet.
