Meh I want it for the game and the statue but the rest of the stuff is junk and $200 is just too high for that. Well $159.99 at amazon. All I can say is temporary tattoos.. really? Just really? Why not sell those since their one time use and have something better in there like an art book, music cd, or something.

Quick questions about the Overwatch CE (PS4) since I've been out of the loop:
1) Is this worth getting now (BB and AMZ have it with the latter still in their 20% off window), later, or not at all?
2) How has the item arrived from BB vs AMZN?


The game seems very fun and I'd like it but it would be nice if I could get it latter for less but I'd rather not miss out. I usually prefer Best Buy for the points and discount but I'd go with Amazon over Best Buy and forego the points for the item arriving in mint condition and I know BB can be hit or miss sometimes.

EDIT: Dammit, BB seems to no longer have it for shipping 😠

It's a pretty solid CE in my opinion. Nice artbook, higher quality statue than most CE statues.

The one I got from amazon was in perfect condition. It was left in its original shipping box which is very sturdy, then put in another box with bubble things. Lol. I still think you'll be able to get it cheaper down the line, even if you can't for ps4 you can for another console if you want the goodies. Everything is the same except the widow maker skin.

Gotta agree, it's a pretty nice CE. The box itself is pretty high quality and I can't see them making these for much longer if at all especially with the Statue included.

It's one of the best CE's I've bought in a real long time if not and might actually be the nicest one I own. If you're into the game I'd say it's definitely worth it. It's possible I suppose that it could drop in price (I haven't been paying attention to how in stock it's been) but having pre-ordered it from BB I don't regret it at all. I get to play the game now, plus I have a nice high quality statue, an incredibly nice art book plus the soundtrack and a steelbook. If you're not in any rush to play it, then I'd wait to see what others here say because I'm sure they have a better idea of it's availability than I do.... I've been too busy playing to actually take notice

e. Ordered from BB and it came in a box directly from Blizz. Had the "do not sell by" stickers on it and everything. It was all minty fresh when I opened it.

Yeah I got the regular edition with the goodies and it seems nice as is the CE that I figure I'll bite for 20% off and not worry about watching it to fall forever.

That said, I'm annoyed BB doesn't have it in stock for shipping. I'll probably go with Amazon this weekend then since the two week window is coming up and this would be nice for the sealed collection since the CE and the game both seem to be high quality. It's very convincing to hear all the praise from you guys about it - definitely seems like a worthwhile CE to not miss out on, especially since it seems to not be getting beat up in shipping :): looks angrily at Destiny::).

I got one Overwatch CE from BB and one from Amazon.  Both arrived in perfect shape.  The BB one was shipped in the distributor's box, the Amazon one wasn't but it was packed with plenty of air pillows.

 
Why does Square Enix charge nearly a month in advance for a preorder?  I was going to wait a little bit to decide if I wanted Star Ocean but I guess now I'm stuck with it.  That's one damn expensive steelbook!

Just want to throw in my two cents. I preordered the Overwatch CE from BB and I think it was WELL worth the 20% of price. The $10 certificate was a nice bonus but that doesn't apply to you now.

Mine came in the Blizzard box as well but I did end up with a slightly crushed corner. Normally it would bother me but this one didn't for whatever reason.

Everything is very high quality, even the outside box. A lot of detail went into the art book as well. There is an outside sleeve and there is a lot of text in the art book as well. The CD isn't just a teaser CD like most others where they have 7-10 tracks. The steelbook was a nice surprise. The statue is good quality in my opinion but I'm not a statue expert. I wish it was colored though. The postcards are meh but nice to have I guess.

The best part though is the game. I'm having a lot of fun playing it.

overwatch is definitely addicting. i wish there are more map and mode.

 
Still thinking if i should buy overwatch. Would probably buy the pc version which would probably get more patches and fixes faster than console versions.

get the pc version, if you dont care the bonus item from the phyical copy and you have amazon no rush credit. you can purchase blizzard gift card with no rush credit and then purchase the digital version for $39.99. i get my free copy of overwatch =D.

That distributor's box is extra thick though. Mine came from BB the same way, but in perfect condition. Overall the CE is one of the higher quality ones produced. The status is great, despite the Shooter Dude character choice. Also been listening to the soundtrack in my car since I ripped it, and it's solid.

 
I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with Overwatch's business model. They're adding free maps, free modes, free heroes in the future. They have to sustain it somehow so they let people buy at their leisure the exact same cosmetic loot boxes that you get freely just by leveling. And levels are gained rather quickly.

Why not just let the people buy the cosmetic loot they want instead of $50 of random loot boxes that might not even get them the loot they want?
Because they make a lot more money this way. We know exactly why its lootboxes and not some other better progression system. God forbid I get loot for the character that I actually play from playing that character.
And this is coming from someone who doesn't actually care. It's a valid criticism I think.

Exactly. Content isn't being locked behind a paywall, and the stuff in lootboxes doesn't affect gameplay anyway. Whether you use your time or money is up to you.

The only flaw is the RNG/drop rate involved with the boxes. That's the only uncertain thing about Blizzard's business model. Making individual skins or other stuff available for in game money and real money would solve the problem.

Its Blizzard, overtime RNG for the loot boxes will be tweaked to get better chances. Thats how diablo 3 started, loots were crap in the beginning but eventually got better. Hoping by the time i dive in, skins has a higher chance of being acquired.
 
I disagree that only cosmetic makes it harmless when the game has no progression system besides loot boxes, jim sterling has talked a lot about the psychology of it and it made a lot of sense to me, not going to support it

To be fair, if you buy 50$ worth of loot boxes (Like I did), you'll probably end up with more than enough to buy anything ingame you want with currency anyway.

I'm still sitting on like 5,500 currency waiting for new Heroes/Skins to get added.

Hmmm... Might have to go this route then! Id like to get all cosmetics than spend so much time playing! Lol! Too much backlog not enough time to burn hours playing!
 
Also I'm still fucking waiting on my One Piece Burning Blood codes from Amazon, has anyone else gotten theirs yet?

I have contacted them like every single day and just keep getting emails to clarify my situation. Have also gotten 2 more free codes for Kung Fu Panda movies, which still fucking baffles me. On the verge of just buying the codes from ebay

Beyond that, wonder if the licensed music requires extra royalties when released outside the game.

Because they make a lot more money this way. We know exactly why its lootboxes and not some other better progression system. God forbid I get loot for the character that I actually play from playing that character.
And this is coming from someone who doesn't actually care. It's a valid criticism I think.

Not very good reasoning as a person can play as 20 of the characters and absolutely hate 1 character and have the unfortunate luck of getting a legendary skin for only that 1 character. The legendary skins being the main reason people would pay real money for loot crates as they are not obtainable any other way.

Or you could only like 1 character and get their Legendary on the first loot chest, and never need to buy any.

 
not giving an angry rebuttal but "cant afford microtransactions" made me laugh, is this a positive thing now? the only way to vote is with your dollars, so I bought the one without micro and didnt buy the on with

 
I'm sure glad we've moved away from "PC vs. Console" debates and onto something more relevant like Overwatch micro-transactions.

From what I've gathered in the Amazon reviews section for the game, quite a few people were having trouble getting the codes. A fair amount of them seem to have received the codes via email after contacting customer service. Might be worth a phone call call or live chat. Unless there's a market for trading Kung Fu Panda movies for DLC... bc that would be convenient, at this point.

 
Cancelled my Odin Sphere Storybook and just went for the standard. After looking at the trophy list it looks pretty piss easy to platinum, and the extra's don't warrant that price for me with everything else coming this month. (Especially when I can probably dump it before the end of the week)

And to bitzer, I gave up and just brought a pack from Ebay for 10$. I'd rather be safe than sorry and risk missing out forever. If they ever send me my set, I'll just sell it on here or something.
