  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

More like Amazon fuck up if you ask me. Those who took advantage of it aren't exactly ethical.

But those of who bought them on Reddit/eBay had no clue where they were coming from and wouldn't say we were in on the "scam".
How could you guys not know a brand new $60 being sold for less then $20 on Ebay and Reddit not know it was 'stolen' or some how NOT legit?

Personally I don't care if a bunch of you bought it and got it for cheap. But to say you had no idea is BS. Just like buying things that fell off the back of a truck for 10 cents on the dollar. You might not know where it was stolen from but you know it was stolen or not exactly legit.

It wasn't apparent it was a scam early on, and it's possible that the first group of codes people bought were from legit gpu purchases. But once there there a ridiculous amount of codes for dirt cheap it became obvious there was something sketchy going on

Honestly, once it dropped below $30 people should have realized something was fishy.

Wow that footage of the pig car in Forza is mindblowing.  When it passes the car going from the right of the screen to the left, it looks so real.  I'm still in awe of the graphics since my gaming is still primarily on the 360 than the One.  Is that gameplay footage?

Regardless, we "the buyers" weren't the ones who scammed Amazon out of the codes. If we lose our games, so be it.

But those who actually did this are the ones who are probably walking away with hundreds of dollars. And I don't see how they can be punished. Maybe their accounts will be banned from Amazon (like that's a big deal). But legally? Doubt there is much that can be done against them.

yeah, gameplay footage. Those clips are from drone cam where you can fly around in a drone and film your friends in the open world. FH3 is amazing so far.

So you can fly around and film friends driving around or do you need to drive and fly the drone? Or can you do both? I haven't played a driving game in years so it looks really nice.

When Amazon bans someone, they don't fuck around. They will ban every account associated with that address, ip, every damn thing. Want to order stuff to your house again, then you're going to need to find a new place to live.

So yea it's a big deal if someone likes to shop there.

Scorched earth and then they salt it for good measure.

Nah, they go pretty hard when they ban someone. There's no fuck around with them on that.

Want to ever purchase anything from Amazon again? Be ready to get a new ID, payment, new IP and a new house.

It's like the Oman Wars turned into WWII.

My card got whacked with two charges from Aramark in Florida (I live in PA). Got to call my bank to see if I can get the charges refunded tomorrow. I was on vacation past 4 days and I didn't want to screw around on hold but I should have my card this week. Although apparently my bank account does work on Amazon because a CD I ordered shipped.

So hopefully I get FH3 on Tuesday. Playing both Forza Motorsport and Horizon, I tend to like both games but I like the variety of the environment in Horizon better (while racing at the tracks is fun, I get tired of the tracks after awhile).

Also, PSA: Lifelock is a complete scam.  They cannot and will not protect you from credit card fraud.  They will also commit theft by charging cards that you have never given them and have never activated.

Man, I was just thinking about tomorrow.

As always, I'm excited for the return of Date Night.  But my word, can we agree to just NOT talk about the Debate...at all?  CAG-on-CAG yelling matches are good for no one; its sad to see - whatever the topic.

And social media is going to be a mine field tomorrow.  Hell, its bad already.  If you have a wide scope of friends/acquaintances on Facebook, you know what I mean...

To each their own, but personally I'm going to do Date Night, watch two teams I don't care about on Monday Night Football, and call it a day.

I keep forgetting to ask but having recently redeemed a digital copy of Rare Replay why do half the games appear twice in my games list? Do I want to download the one with the Rare Replay banner, the one without, or do I need to download both?

But what if someone tops having a binder of women? Does Trump have a taco truck of Mexicans? Inquiring minds want to know!

Seriously though it's probably for the best unless some bi-partisan meme arises.

Just one, I downloaded the ones without the ugly banner

Regardless, we "the buyers" weren't the ones who scammed Amazon out of the codes. If we lose our games, so be it.

But those who actually did this are the ones who are probably walking away with hundreds of dollars. And I don't see how they can be punished. Maybe their accounts will be banned from Amazon (like that's a big deal). But legally? Doubt there is much that can be done against them.
Yeah, the person I bought from at the beginning of this whole thing ended up selling 54 total at $34 each, I'm not going to feel too bad if I file for my return. The last feedback said they got hit with the request for proof of purchase so that's probably the only reason she stopped.

That's only if you picked Goods instead of Friends & Family right.  Also I'm not going to judge but can anyone here confirm that you were able to get more than one code by Ordering & Cancelling more than once?  I thought you were only able to get one code by doing O&C once and even you O&C again you don't get another code?  Maybe changing or masking IP enabled them to get more?  Who knows.

I'm amazed there are no non-Gold deals this week. I didn't see any in the 1st page post. It must be a very slow week with no publisher sales.

Also, I'd expect there should be some new Xbone owners with today's Target deal. I've never used or watched anyone use a Xbone before. I just got my first Xbone 500 GB slim model. I'm curious... is there a good FAQ for people who are used to the Xbox 360 and want to know how the Xbone is different?

From what I've heard, you can't use any internal laptop hard drive in the Xbone -- unlike the PS4 -- due to the same proprietary restrictions MS imposed on the X360. So I'm unlikely to ever upgrade the internal hard drive due to the excessive cost. On the positive side, I've heard the Xbone has USB 3.0 ports and lets you store all your games and data on any external USB 3.0 hard drive whiich it will use full USB 3.0 speed. If this is true then having a small internal hard drive is no problem. This is the type of stuff I'd like to read about in a FAQ. Thanks.

There is a help section under apps that I think has a few videos. As far as hard drives go you can easily hook up an external drive. I have a 2TB drive hooked up and it runs games just fine. Welcome to the Xbox one!

Changing the internal voids the warranty and isn't meant to be done on the XB1.

External is such a better option anyway.  It's cheaper, just as face, you can can use bigger drives, multiple drives, no transferring anything if you change systems.

forza horizon getting delisted seems so strange to me, I assume its so there is less cheap alternatives for getting the new horizon, grabbed 1000 club free dlc while its still there

Maybe but the simpler and more likely explanation is that either a music or car license has expired.

Honestly, once it dropped below $30 people should have realized something was fishy.
Once Gears codes were below $45 I knew something was fishy.

Every X360 Forza game has been delisted four years after release due to licensing expirations. There are some other free DLCs, I believe a Honda pack and a pick up truck although the truck may be part of the 1000 Club. A free car from each DLC pack as well that serves as a compatibility pack for online play.

Achievement completionists will want need the October and November packs in order to be able to complete the 1000 Club achievements.

Not more likely, FM2/FM3/FM4/FH1 all had all digital products removed due to licensing expirations according Turn 10 and now Playground Games.

+1 to not wanting to have partisan shit clog up this thread regardless of your extreme distaste of either candidate.

Feel free to talk shit about Mark Cuban though.

Dead Red Redemption GOTY is $15.99 at BB with GCU.

Does it give any real actual playable content over the digital version I bought a couple months ago via Live?

I guess it has 3 DLCs that I didn't get with the Live version?

And will it require me to have the disc in to play?

RDR GOTY has an exclusive Hardcore mode or something like that if memory serves.
RDR GOTY pulled another LA Noire GOTY as well, and included former PS3 exclusive content for 360.

The Solomon’s Folly single player gang hideout and challenges (available for the first time on Xbox 360).
Definitely the version to get if you don't own the base game or Undead Nightmare. I got it when it was $15 at Walmart, 2 Black Fridays ago.

Since the pre-order bonuses (being sold for $1 each) are free in-game for everyone now as far as I know, the only thing the GOTY edition includes aside from the PS3-exclusive stuff is Undead Nightmare. The rest of the DLC is free at this point.

Just finished Dear Esther. What a waste of 90 minutes. I've played walking sims before(Gone Home, The Park, Lifeless Planet too if that counts), but this was a horrible game. At least in Gone Home, you could interact with stuff. Even had an intriguing story. In DE, you just plod along listening to some wank blather on and on. That's.....the whole......game.....

Even though I only spent $3, lost that cash AND my time. Stay away from this turd and buy something else.
This is why people who game on Steam like me and Spoder were kind of laughing at the idea that someone would even spend $8 on it. It's an hour - 90 minute "artistic experience", that may have been "unique" at the time of release (4 1/2 years ago) but really isn't that special anymore.

It is barely worth the pennies we paid for it through the Humble Bundle, do not buy this cash grab port of a game that's lost its relevance. Just watch a playthrough on YouTube or something.

I have no idea who would watch the commercials for that product and think it was a good idea to subscribe. Besides maybe seniors. :bouncy:

Yeah, changing the internal is a waste of time, I have a 4TB external hooked up and it runs great.

Thanks to all of you for confirming that a USB 3.0 external HD is the way to go. Given the comments that external HDs run fine, that must mean they work at full USB 3.0 speeds around 100 MBytes/s, so they are almost as good as internals for speed and are preferred due to portability. I assume the reason MS makes so many bundles with different sized HDs is they assume the non-tech savvy families will be too scared to buy and plug in an external HD. With the Target deal, I considered the 2 TB slim model (with no game) but decided it wasn't worth about $90 more for an extra 1.5 TB. My last couple 2 TB external HDs were around $60 each. I even have some 5 TB HDs I got for a little over $100. Is there a FAQ discussing the details of external HD usage and the capacity limits, formatting, etc.?

I've known Lifelock can't and doesn't protect you from many types of CC fraud. I've opened new CCs and bank accounts over the last several years while I've had Lifelock and they only sent me an alert once. They have a far more expensive version of the service ("ultimate" I believe) that monitors more stuff, but even that's not guaranteed. Basically I look at Lifelock as Identity Theft Insurance rather than prevention. If it happens to you, they are supposed to help you get things fixed and that alone would be worth the $90-something fee per year.

On the original XB1 an external is marginally faster because of their choices in bus speed. The S was supposed to make the buses comparable but the drive itself is still relatively slow so performance should be equal. As far as limits anything on the market currently will be supported and I believe MS only lists a minimum size. Multiple drives are supported but I'm not sure what the limit is concurrently. I believe the system requires you to let it format the drive when it's connected without being formatted for an XB1 before you can use it for game storage. I would try and dig up a link with more specifics but I'm in bed.

Where was this talk when I posted a couple times earlier this week? I have no problems spending that kinda money on a short game as I spent $11 on The Park. Hell, I've paid $14 to watch a movie at the theater on Friday night and that's a 90 minute experience as well.

I guess I'm just sour from the bare-bones experience and I'm not about to play it multiple times to "get" certain things. Too much in the backlog and I don't even game on PC anymore

Looks like there are 10 free add-ons. Just sorted by "Best selling all-time" to find the freebies.

fuck ing Amazon declined my bank as a payment for Forza so my options are either wait till my new card comes in, pay the extra $13 and drive to Gamestop tomorrow, or find a site that sells xbox cards through paypal. I do not want to drive to Gamestop.

So what sites sell xbox cards through paypal, or better yet what sites can I buy Forza Horizon 3 digitally with paypal.

You could buy an Amazon gift card to use. Maybe some combination close to the price of the version you want.

Well you can buy Xbox cards from Microsoft directly with PayPal
https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Xbox-Digital-Gift-Card/productID.289171900
Or PayPal digital gifts
https://www.paypal-gifts.com
Or buy the game digitally from newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16832589513

I'm sure there are more options also

Edit : I forgot also you can just get it right from the Xbox store with PayPal that would be the easiest.

Oh goddamn, didn't realize that. I always used my debit card on xbox. I will just use paypal later tonight. I shouldn't be complaining though about buying it digitally because I get a free PC copy.

fuck my second problem is might use up my data cap if I download FH 3. Apparently I already used 160/250 GB between my PC and xbox, lol.

Oh decisions.
