Finally getting a chance to see the BF Xbox deals:

Is there any difference between Trials Evolution, Trials Fusion, and Trials HD?  I remember playing a demo to Evolution and laughing my butt off at all the different ways I wiped out.

With the lack of progress I made in that game, I could be an expert at Goat Simulator.

I wish there was an icon next to items on the dashboard so I knew if I purchased an item already or not. I look at all the DLC for Fallout thinking I missed something, only to find out I bought it all.  On the other hand, I thought I had all the DLC for Minecraft: Story Mode only to find out I don't have the Season Pass DELUXE.  $18 seems a bit high. Let's see what else is available.

Far Cry 4 - For under $10?!  SOLD! This gives me hope for future sales on the DLC.  Good job, Microsoft.

What the heck is Halo 3: ODST Campaign Edition?   I thought there was "Halo 3:ODST" and nothing else.  Are there any editions outside of "Anniversary" and "Master Chief" I should be aware of?  And what is stopping me from playing a Halo game after Halo 2?

Also considering: Capcom Arcade Cabinet, Strider, and Forza Horizon F&F.

 
I just keep going through thier sale items and getting pissed off at how they handle DLC with thier sales. It really irks me like very few things in the gaming world. Its going to cost me $26 to buy the Dragon Age Inquistion DLC, but the Complete Edition is just $16. And the DLC for the Witcher 3 comes out to be almost $23 on sale, yet the complete edition is only $25 bucks. Just $2 and some chage more for the main game, lol. The DLC deals just suck with MS's sales.  

I just need to get over it and buy the complete editions, even tho I already own the physical copies. F'ing MS. 

And for those that have Lego Dimensions, is it really worth $40? I'm a pretty big fan of Lego games, but usually never spend more than $15 on them. Just not sure on Dimensions.

Trials HD/Evolution/Fusion are three different games in the series. Trials HD is the first one and Fusion is the latest. Play the trial (heh) if you're interested in them.

Halo 3: ODST Campaign Edition is Halo 3: ODST without the multiplayer. It's actually a 2-disc game if you buy physical, with ODST and firefight being on disc one (what you get here) and Halo 3's MP with all maps on disc two. The digital version just removes the multiplayer portion. It's similar to how Halo CE:Anniversary launched with Reach's multiplayer.

F&F is a fun game and pretty easy to 1000. It was free when it came out around March

Ditto. Even tho I have definitely come to appreciate certain aspects of owning a title digitally, I will never spend more for the digital version over a physical copy. Just never going to happen and MS's pricing for retail games is almost always higher than store deals for physical copies.

I know not everyone liked it, but the core game and the trials are easily worth $8, I'd vouch for it at that price at least, I had a lot of fun and am not finished playing all the stuff myself.

Yes. If you have any nostalgia for this, it's a great remaster. My kids loved it and it's got them watching it now also. We àll had a good time with it. Quick little game that is high replayability for the kids. It's one of those games that's just hard enough but not to hard for them. Besides, hearing the theme song is worth the price alone.

All the Trials games are excellent, I'm a big fan as I just picked up Trials of the Blood Dragon, but agreed demo the games to see if it's something that meshes with you. That said, there's a few achievements in those games that you'll throw a controller over but it's amazing if you feel like playing those games for a year (hardcore I know) and progressively improve your skills to the point of having moments of just sheer miracles (you're like oh man how'd I do that, then you do that like a standard move - balancing on the bike will be an advanced method to cut time or progress through the levels - and that's where the game shines - aside from the medals/leaderboards motivation). FYI Trials games have a cool editor which let you make some cool stuff and then get your mind blown by seeing what the community comes up with. In Fusion you're able to finally be able to share your creations and there's a TON of content which was the main reason I hesitated on buying that game's DLC - but I do love anything Blood Dragon/80s.

That said, I too am starting to have a backlog of DLC as well. Yeah I have a few Fallout 3 DLC missions I haven't even done yet and gee I think I bought those back when they were on sale like what a year ago. I just realized today, as I was looking over deals for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided that I have the DLC for Human Revolution and I haven't started The Missing Link DLC. The Witcher 3 I got the base game and then picked up the GWENT Limited Edition Card game/Hearts of Stone expansion. Still need to grab the other DLC, Blood and Wine. Lol, kinda kicking myself about the Season Pass as well.

I bought the intro pack at launch. It includes the game engine and the first episode. The upgrade pack is for intro pack owners and gives you the other 5 episodes plus a bonus summer episode. I bought the upgrade when the sale went live. If you don't have the intro pack, just buy the complete first season - it has everything.

I'm hoping for Halo Wars to go on sale next round. I wonder how much Gears 4 will go on sale for. I kept telling people that have been telling me to just buy it, that I will wait for a sale. HA HA HA.

If there isn't one already, I'm going to suggest on Microsoft's voting website, that they create a wishlish on xbox one that alerts you when a game on your list goes on sale. Could also help some of us with large backlogs quickly know if we've bought a game already or not.

 
I'm super late to the conversation but a bit of input on the Overwatch discussion. First, 20 minutes is not nearly enough time to get a feel for the game unless you absolutely hate it instantly. ALL of the characters feel pretty different from each other so I think a couple of hours of switching around is really needed, there is almost certainly one or more characters that you end up really liking no matter what your preferred style is.

Second, I think Blizzard's update game has been pretty on point for the most part. There occasionally is a lull between major updates, but even then they usually are tweaking stuff every couple of weeks as far as balance is concerned. Since the game launched in May the major updates have been...

October: Seasonal event Halloween Terror. Added several limited-time Halloween cosmetics. Added limited-time mode Junkenstien's Revenge, a co-op survival mode against AI. Added the ability to purchase the cosmetics with earned in-game currency due to feedback from Summer Games.

November: Biggest update yet. New character Sombra added. Added several new ways to play with Arcade Mode, which also give the opportunity for more Lootboxes. 3v3 and 1v1 playlists with a new map to support them. A rolling playlist with several unique gametypes in rotation.

We have a few more niche things coming down the pipe like the Overwatch League and esports stuff in general, plus they keep putting out animated shorts and comics for free. I'm positive we'll see a Christmas event too.

Finally, I wouldn't chalk all the love up to blind Blizzard fanboyism. Personally, I've barely touched the rest of their catalog, and Overwatch is a totally different genre than anything else they make, meaning that many players unfamiliar with the studio are coming on board. Not to mention their minuscule console presence before. A developer having a strong reputation certainly is a positive, but it isn't everything. The way they've supported the game, communicated with the fanbase, and listened to feedback is pretty top-tier when compared to many of the other top FPS devs.

A big factor for me is that ALL content added is free, supported by microtransactions that only have the same cosmetics that you already can earn at a pretty healthy rate. No pointless season pass like Gears 4 or Titanfall 2, no paid-only content, no required paid expansions like Destiny, no paid maps on top of microtransactions like CoD. I think the only shooters that come close in support are Halo 5 and possibly Titanfall 2 if it survives it's botched launch.

 
How is Resident Evil Revelations compared to 6?

Do you like 3D platforming collect-a-thons? If you do, you'll like Banjo-Kazooie. I loved it on the N64 back in '98, it was a clear step up from Super Mario 64, and the 360 port held up well when I replayed it a few years back. Though I'd suggest that unless you want the separate 360 achievements or you don't have an XB1 yet, get Rare Replay, which includes BK and Banjo-Tooie (more of the same, on steroids) and a mess of other games.

 
Ended up buying Dishonored.

Really hoping for $20 ReCore. I know it's $15 at Target but fuck going out on Black Friday. Trying to avoid it this year if possible.

For the guy asking about Banjo & Kazooie. It's a damn fine platformer. I mean it's a N64 game so it does have it's limitations but overall still a fun game. Banjo Tooie is great as well. Nuts and Bolts was an interesting concept but got annoying way too fast.

I guess the best way to put it is it's more horror/classic styled? Like it still has the behind the back camera and gameplay but people felt it has more elements to the originals then like 5 or 6 (or 4 to an extent). I really enjoyed both myself though.

B&K I highly recommend, as long as you don't mind collecting a lot of things, they made it slightly less tedious on the 360 version compared to the N64 ones.

Most games do nowadays, but Overwatch doesn't handle it great, since you can't even try to get what you want it's all random, it can take forever to get a skin for your main, then you get doubles that are worth such a little coin value that it can take a while to save up to pick what you want, where with a lot of games like COD or Halo or such, the cosmetic is generally usable all the time, not just with one character (It might be one gun, but everyone has the same stuff)

 
I love going out on Black Friday. I don't hit the doorbusters/waiting in line for 36 hours bullshit, but I go out and ride around eventually. I just don't have much I want this year and the Guitar Center/Sam Ash ads sucked, so no music stuff this year.


I'm still considering a couple things from this sale. Will probably grab Life Is Strange.

I'm almost glad that CoD sucked this year. I'm going to use it to work through my SP digital backlog.

Maybe I missed it but where is the free 15th anniversary ford raptor truck in forza horizon 3? Did I have to log in on the 15th? Or was it sent to everyone regardless? I scoured the menus and checked inboxes and didn't see anything.

Revelations felt like a return to form for the series. The cruise ship feels a lot like the mansion from RE1, it's big, creepy, has narrow hallways and large rooms to explore. A decent story that still feels like a B-movie in a good way. For $5 it's an easy recommendation, although I haven't played the 360 port specifically, the game itself is great.

Yeah, I do wish you could unlock a bit more just by playing them, more than the 2 sprays per character for achievments. It hasn't been too bad for me though. I "main" like 4 or 5 characters and usually aim for a couple specific things per class that I eventually can just get with coins. The only thing I really want are usually the skins.

I don't know, the 100% is only on 2 selling transactions, one of which is neutral. I doubt $16 is even what you would pay as a vendor to Microsoft directly, probably stolen. Seems pretty sketch.
