LEGO Deals 3

Keep in mind, if you already have admission, you can reserve FastPass times up to 30 days in advance (60 if you've reserved a room at a Disney resort). Same-day will be disappointing for the popular attractions if it is a busy day. Table service dining in the parks is similar (especially character dining), but you don't need your admission pre-purchased for those and can go six months out.
Thanks for the information. I already have my tickets, so I should probably go ahead and just start reserving.

Sorry to all for the topic derail.

Damn, looks like the Target automatic double dip gravy train is for the most part gone indeed, as the 15% off with purchase of any version of the Lego Batman Movie doesn't work automatically at all in store from all my tests. All of the CSRs and lead types I spoke with would not honor the 15% off, stating that the register already took the discount off despite my showing them the lower sale price in the app/target.com AND it taking an additional 15% off with the movie in the cart. For example, despite the Batmobile being on sale for $45.49 online AND getting an additional 15% off of that price clearly indicated via the app at checkout, in store it was "on sale" for $50.99 final price regardless of whether the movie was rung up or not. No pricematching target.com either.

Also unfortunately, despite the loose/vague/conflicting wording of the promo as it states different things in the ad versus store signage versus in app/online, it doesn't work on all sets it should work on particularly the new movie sets, never mind some it technically should apply to such as the 60s Batcave.

At least it does work online/in app on some sets, best deals appear to be the Batcave break-in, batmobile, joker lowrider, and a few other sets already on sale which then get an additional 15% off when the movie is also added to cart. Sadly, the discount only applies to the most expensive applicable item not all applicable items in cart, though you can get multiple discounts via multiple separate orders. Hopefully it doesn't prorate returns of extra copies of the movies to minimize the discount.

EDIT: A second store I visited had no problem pricematching the Target app/online prices as well as the 15% off additional discount on multiple sets, so I ended up getting just about the complete Lego Batman movie line as well as some of the older/previous Lego DC sets.  Only ones I passed on were the new sets that weren't on sale such as the $140 Ultimate Batmobile, the $90 Batwing, the 2-Face set, and the Bane set.  Store pickup also works with the bonus discounts but again only 1 set per order will get the 15% off.  I know with redcard discount it was taking off an additional $10 even from the Batmobile, so that works out to $35.49...I'll find out tomorrow if returning the movie prorates that discount at all.

Yes because we are known for never, ever going off topic, not even a little.

Yeah it's been rather dead all year. Oddly thought the last 20% off sale wasn't for the already 20% off prices online, it was only in store. So I got a few sets for 40-50% off. So about the exact opposite of your experience.

Ok so returning the Lego Batman movie does prorate the return based on the 15% combo discount, to the % that the movie cost is of the total (before tax and red card). It was $24.99 less $2.31 and $24.99 less $2.42, before tax and red card, when I returned 2 of the target exclusives that had been store pickups coupled with a Batmobile and Joker lowrider.

Using the plain old DVD version of the movie yields the best final pricing on the qualifying sets assuming you are returning the movie, although it is only a difference of a few cents ($.13 difference for the Joker balloon escape, up to $.69 difference for the Batcave Break-in). Total cost for Batcave pre-tax and pre-redcard is $66.22 with DVD/$66.91 with exclusive, assuming you return the movie.

Not really sold on these discounted prices being worth it on these sets given their high MSRPs, but it also varies given the wide disparity in initial sale prices/discounts on the qualifying sets, varying from 0 on the Penguin car all the way to 35.3% off on the BvS Batmobile. Batmobile is 24% off the overpriced $59.99 msrp, Batcave is 25% off the overpriced $99.99 msrp, killer croc a little over 27% off, and the rest 20% off.

I think you're just better off going to TRU and use the credit card on Thursday. If memory serves me correct you can still pm and the computer will automatically take off 20%.

Yeah, the sets work out to 30-33% off outside of the BvS Kryptonite Theft Batmobile set when all is said and done.  The BatGirl figure included in the Target exclusive doesn't appear any different than the ones in the set.

I'm just going to return all these and work on getting them at least 50% off MSRP.

Went to TRU last night in search of the Batpod poly (nada) and saw that they are carrying the new PotC ship in store at MSRP no less

Going to post up the random spare LEGO Batman Movie Minifigures we have left tomorrow night. Just going to sell them as a bulk lot, I'll offer them up here at first for less than I would at shows/eBay.

:( Damn being an east coaster! A Nexo Castle on Wheels I was watching on eBay sold for $37 shipped! It ended at 3am Eastern and I forgot to bid again before I went to bed. I really want that set and $37 is definitely in my price zone.

All 34 extra figures left for $68 *shipped* (Which is $2 a figure for those who are not good with math) OR another deal below

$42 shipped for one of each of the 13 unique figures we have left. It's a much better deal to take everything so I can get rid of this last bit.

As you know Walmart clearance is ymmv but probably worth checking BrickSeek for your area but I saw the fantastic beast story pack for $10 and Lego batman movie story pack for $5. I already have them so I passed but now that I think about it I'll go back to grab them as those are great prices just for the parts and minifigures. I do need to find the Ghostbusters 2016 pack at that price before they disappear

I don't know where to begin. It corrects a bunch of the mistakes the GB House made (double walls, too committed to the original architecture, etc.) and the piece to price ratio might be the best of any UCS level set. I'll have to see the movie but other than the throwaway playsets this and the vehicles might convince me to collect the whole series.

Looks cool, but I'll probably just get Destiny's Bounty and call it good for the movie sets.
Really? I love the boat but it's so plain and conservative compared to the city. My main concern is like the fishing shack we're getting buildings that look like they would fit with modulars but are way outside the style.

Wow, that's fantastic!  It looks like it fell out of an anime.

It's overstuffed in a good way, and it oozes character.  I don't really want to spend $300, but I can't say they're not giving you an awful lot with this set.

Some Destiny Mega Blocks are hitting 70% - 50% off clearance at Target tomorrow according to Brickseek.  Gonna pick up the orange ship one for $15.xx.

Now, now...Mega Bloks are better than they used to be (disclaimer: I have not picked up any of the Destiny line).

Their tolerances are still off a bit, but in the other direction.  I had to essentially hammer together parts of the Starship Enterprise and I picked up a Kubros Skeletor on clearance this week and some of those parts were difficult to snap together.  While I have seen loose parts years ago, I haven't seen any from them lately.

The bigger issue with me, which also made me decide to not bother with any more, is that every set seems to be missing parts.  Even Skeletor was missing a critical part, which I was at least able to substitute with another in the box.  But what does it say when Chinese knockoffs have better QC...

Exactly.

MEGA BLOKS is a screwed up piece of shit hat has no business staying in business. At Christmas my cousins kid got a Duplo like set from MEGA BLOKS and they had pictures of what to make, like of trees. It was missing a piece. Turn out it wasn't missing a piece, just didn't include all the ones shown. Like what the fuck is the point of the directions when you don't have enough leaf pieces?

Mattel now owns Mega Bloks/Construx so hopefully they get better. I really like their mini action figures from their sets. But I still only plan on buying them for 50-70% off until that happens. I'm interested in the quality of the Pokémon sets if anyone picks one up and would like to share their thoughts.

blandstalker, the Enterprise set was a pain to build especially at 2 points with me too. You can get parts replaced for free online or over the phone via Mattel.

I liked this post not because it was funny but because you didn't try to sell something. >_<
Hey, to be fair I've just been cleaning out extra crap we've had in our house :p

Want me to post pics of the wifes assembled collection sometime? I can do that.

I'd post pictures of her closet of doom but.. it's scary. It's ceiling to floor boxed LEGOs that we don't have room to assemble. When she starts buying LEGOs, it's the entire season at once of a line.

It's not nice to list your wife on Craigslist. :)

Your wife sounds awesome. I somehow fit dozens of LEGO sets under my bed... and desk.... and mother's basement. Have I ever posted pictures here? I have guys over and they go 'Oh you do have a lot of clothing' when they see the containers I laugh and go "SOME are LEGOs" even though all of them are. I think I'm up to around 10-12 big Rubbermaid containers.

Her LEGO problem lets me get away with my habits :D

I know I could, but I just worked around it. I really didn't want to stop in the middle of the build (with lots of pieces everywhere), itemize which pieces I needed, work it out with CS, and then wait for them to arrive. I'm certainly not going to tear it apart now.

Fortunately, I was able to use the extra, wrong pieces I had to replace the pieces that were missing and I was able to do it in a way that wasn't visible. Same with Skeletor.

To me, the real issue is that this seems to happen constantly. It was in a number of reviews I saw for the Enterprise set, and it just speaks very poorly of the company and brand as a whole.

LEGO S@H has added a bunch of junk for 20% off. Nothing at all worth it being it's been 20% off at every store for months now. However the 60s Batcave is on sale for $216 or something like that.

And you get double points so that's something.

The brick fan is reporting that that set, hellicarrier, palace cinema and ucs tie fighter are all retiring soon
The Batcave is listed on S@H as retiring soon. That was quick. The others are not listed, but different sets are listed as retiring soon, including (bizarrely) Black Widow Brickheadz.

I need to buy that soon, good price right now. Going to call Lego store in the morning, I already bought the Helicarrier a few weeks ago. =)

I think you have forgotten what 'retiring soon' actually means, pretty much nothing. They have sets in production waves. They probably have Black Widow selling a lot slower than the others so the others might get another production when she won't. That's all, she is retiring soon from production but still be around in stores.
