There was 5 at the Target in Pace, Florida when I was there yesterday. They were tucked in the bottom shelf so I could only make out the first two which were Gray.

7 gray switches in best buy Mays Landing, NJ ......still looking for a neon console at best buy ....the hunt continues!

Yet another reason why I gag everytime lazy , entitled Americans complain about not being able to find a Switch:

http://kotaku.com/on-splatoon-2-launch-day-japan-lines-up-for-the-switch-1797119711
Unfortunately here we do not have stores that gather up shipments and set dates for release in order for people to line up. People here have to call and go store to store to find which one got a shipment and beat other people that randomly find it as well. It is hardly "LAZY" when you don't just get a date and time to go line up, like they do. It is not a one to one scenario, and there is much to complain about how post launch distribution is handled here.

Yeah, I don't know that I would call someone "lazy" for not standing in line God knows how long, for a 1 in 100 chance for an "entertainment" device, as "Insanity" seems the more fitting term(IMO). LOL

Uh yeah, we do. Literally every Best Buy had dozens of Switches available on Friday for the Splatoon 2 release. Just like they've also done several times in the past. They've also gone up for sale at Amazon at least six times in the last month. Not to mention the weekly restocks at Target. Even though Switches sell through at these stores, I've seen them for sale at least 30 different occasions now. People in America that whine about this stuff are lazy and entitled. It's especially astonishing that it still happens on here, the very resource that helps people track new shipment trends.

And no one complains about the few times that happens here, but the vast majority of restocks happen randomly in the middle of the day - you know, when all the "lazy" people are working instead of searching or standing in line for video games. I'm glad stores in your area have so many you have seen them for sale "30" times, but other have not - because they have different stores and you know it might not be as easy as them. That's a pretty "entitled American" attitude you seem to have, "everyone has exactly the same chances and experience I do".

Try thinking about the difficulty others face and why it might be frustrating, I got my Switch the first day because I was able to pre-order, but I'm certainly not going to look down my noses at people the way you seem to do because I was lucky enough to get in the window when they opened.

Does anyone know of a hard carrying case that holds everything that the Switch comes with (console, joy-cons, controller, dock, plug, and wrist straps)?

I got the one linked below, but it has a really bad odor to it.  Went to Target today and all of the ones they had also smelled bad.

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Game-Traveler-Deluxe-System/dp/B01N23OP50/ref=sr_1_3

Surely there has to be an alternative to this one, no?

Edit:

I seem to have found an alternative:

https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-Carrying-Case-N500-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B071HV9JHS/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

This case is just a couple of dollars more than the other one I got. It seems to have a better interior design based on the pictures and the best part is the description explicitly states "NO unpleasant odor problem." They must know the RDS one has odor problems and so they are promoting the fact that theirs doesn't as a feature.

So both of my right Joycons have a chip in the locking mechanism that prevents them from locking tightly now. Anyone else facing this issue and if so has anyone looked at returning to Nintendo?

at the end of the day, I'm just glad that the switch is readily available... as long as you are willing to buy other stuff with it in bundles (at gamestop) Too many epic games are coming up!

Just a general comment/observation in years with working with Japanese scholars, then Japanese engineers here in Silicon Valley.

That race has some serious dedication, discipline and work ethic, which I truly admire.

It's a bullshit business model for the consumer if you ask me. I would gladly give Gamestop my $300 plus tax for a Switch, but other than maybe a Pro Controller or whatever it's called, I don't want to buy anything with my Switch other than a bigger memory card. I rarely buy physical games for my PS4 and never with my handhelds.

You can probably exchange the game in store for a digital copy.

YMMV, but I know a couple of employees at my local Gamestop who wouldn't have an issue doing a swap like that. I've heard of others being able to do it as well.
For sure, GS is always best when you know someone. Even though all my friends and or acquaintances no longer work there, I have a few regular staff I deal with every once in awhile, that I could get a few favors done if need be. But I'm saving those for a real need at some point down the road. Hopefully they'll still be employed if I ever need something(but I'm not holding my breath). LOL

I'm have a good report with all the employees at my local Gamestop even though I don't buy a whole lot from them. Being able to swap a physical copy of Zelda for a digital copy would better suit my style, though I still don't care about buying, let alone playing, Hobo Heroes or whatever the other game they're bundling it with is called.

Just stopped by the Brentwood California Best Buy and they had 3 neon 3 grey on display, I am sure they had more in back but that was all that would fit on the shelf.  Don't have a desire to get one just yet until the library is more expanded.

No they don't. That's why people like you think you can't find a Switch. Gamestop is the only store that gets things and puts them out in the middle of the day, and there is no rhyme or reason to Walmart.

Most people know how to go to a store when systems should be available which is at store opening. Like when a new game like Splatoon 2 releases at Best Buy on Fridays, or on Sunday at Target especially when its in the ad. Because it's been posted several times in this thread. Or because they have an ounce of determination. Literally. Dozens. of. Switches. in every Best Buy all day six days ago, from opening throughout the afternoon.

People like the ones you're describing go to two random stores in the middle of the day and then its "omg I can't find a Switch anywhere!1!". Meanwhile this site keeps getting updated several times a week with listings where you can buy a Switch online.

:puke:

Nintendo has shifted the vast majority of their stock overseas to us on a product that's impossible to manufacture any faster due to Chinese manufacturing factory contracts, and 80% Chinese controlled rare earth metals that go inside all of our high-tech devices. Switch systems have become easy to find in America. And you've still got bitching and moaning about Nintendo, and the supply, from all the same people here who aren't even looking to buy a Switch anyways. Yeah, you already have one. Because it wasn't hard to get. Now reconsider the situation in Japan. So yeah, It's always nice to know who the idiots are.

Switch bundles are up at Gamestop.com right now for $360 which include a game you were going to buy anyways. Either Splatoon, Zelda, or Mariokart.

I'd rather it just said how many people dislike your posts. So you can see how pathetic you are. :whistle2:

I think Nothing371 is butthurt that NO ONE agrees with him. Lol!
Pretty much, I think my post pretty much stood on its own pretty well. But it flies in the face of his whole Americans are bad and lazy, everything in Japan is so much better schtick. Because we don't ditch work to stand in a 2,000 person deep line (and standing in line isn't exactly "HARD" either) for a video game. I got my Switch because I stayed up for the announcement video then got a pre-order at Best Buy a little while later. I did it because my son's birthday was coming up and he wanted one, but that is in no way reasonable to stay up to 3am for an average person, but that's what you had to do.

I also ordered the Switch right after the announcement. I anticipated the announcement for weeks and had phone and iPad ready to pull the trigger. I ordered 2; cancelled one, midnight pickup with my son at BB (Neon) and then went back Sunday morning to get a 2nd (grey).

Yeah, I was able to get the NES classic when Amazon first announced a set time and date for it, and by some act of God, my order actually went through. But I was for sure in the minority on that one, as I have pretty good luck with Amazon for those few second releases they have had.

My son's B-Day is at the end of January, so that would have given me a little time to try again, but I had already told him it may not happen, and he's old enough to understand the stock short comings, but I was still glad I was able to get it for him. Now he's given me the "green light" to sale it, so he can fund an NS.

If I had missed out, there was no way I was camping out or otherwise for that damn thing. I'm just past that point of having that level of free time, or caring that much. If "N" want's my money, they know how to get it, make shit easy to buy, otherwise I'll spend it elsewhere, get more satisfaction, and give them the finger in the process. LOL

There is no rare earth rationing or shortage. The thing is Nintendo has to compete with Apple, Sony and a bunch of other companies for Foxconn manufacturing time, so it's not a matter of simply ramping up production as if there are empty factories and idle workers laying around waiting to be utilized. They are already doing as much as they can by airlifting all the product they can to the US, probably eating up their meager profits on these units at the same time.

Best way to buy a switch at target.  Target receives trucks mondays, wednesdays and fridays.   saturdays is ymmv.   bigger stores, higher traffic stores receive saturdays.    call 10-15 minutes before store opens to see if they received any switches.  recommend going when store opens.  they don't last very long.

edited my post cause i gave wrong information about searching switches on brick seek.

Oh so you're saying there's a correlation between the amount of likes and the quality of the poster? Let's see...you have 133.

The self-proclaimed Gamefaqs mod that does nothing on here but troll Nintendo threads. Your job is aptly suited to your talents.

Then the point was lost on you. The point is that Switches are easy to find.

Also that most of the deranged (anti-)Nintendo people on this forum are nuts and have alternate versions of reality. The people that bitch about Nintendo are the ones buying Nintendo stuff.

My post history is open for everyone to see so all you've done is make yourself look even more like a troll. You could have at least tried to back up your allegation. So lazy...Lol! No one here is anti Nintendo. Everyone is anti Nothing371. Now go away dummy. Even the usual shill trolls don't have your back.

Check Brickseek early before store opens (6-7:30) to make sure they have counts . if it shows on hands (2+) Be there before store opens, and let a manager know you're there for a switch. reason i say this is cause I've seen multiple people come running back to electronics and everyone tells me they were first. at least they know you were the first one.
Is a Brickseek account required for searching the Switch? Whenever I have tried to search the corresponding DPCI's, I get a message saying, "Sorry, this item is not available to search at this time." Any info is appreciated. Feel free to message me if necessary. Thanks

I've seen them in stock at gamestop and Target here in CA. The Target store just had them sitting on the shelf, and no one seemed to notice :)

The Target is Smyrna GA has few Switch consoles in the case. It also has 4 guardian BotW Amiibo.

Saw the same thing here yesterday on my lunch break at about 130pm, about six of them just sitting on the shelves. This particular target is where I see them at least a couple times a month, just gotta pay attention.

I've seen a lot in Western Mass and Enfield, Conneticut.

Walmart in Chicopee MA still has 4 for 2 weeks now. Went today, still there.

Best Buy in Enfield, CT had 2 a few weeks ago.

Target in Holyoke, MA had 4 a week ago.

Do not buy bundles!!!!!

All the Walmarts and Targets in the SF Bay Area (South Bay and East Bay, at least) got shipments of 4-10 Switch units in today. They're still going relatively fast, though. I called one of the Walmarts in San Jose that was supposed to have 5 neons, and the associate in the Electronics department said they had 3 left. When I got there 30 minutes later, they were down to the last 1. I managed to snag it, but had to make a small child cry. He was standing in front of the case trying to talk his mother into buying it for him.

I saw 2 of the gray Joy Con consoles at Target today. I'm holding off to buy one next year but it was cool to see them in the store. Hopefully someone who actually wanted it got them and they're not on Facebook marketplace right now.

Anywhere to currently order the neon switch where you can avoid California sales tax and save $30?

Targets in and around my area. Milwaukee Wisconsin have lots on Nintendo Switch in stock. I'm at a store in Wauwatosa WI. With 11 on the floor.
