This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

Newegg has the ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 580 T8G Gaming Top OC Edition for $305 and it has a $20 rebate, making it $285 AR.  I went ahead and bit and before everyone screams that MSRP for 580s is $240, technically the MSRP for this card was always $300 because of the cooler, RGB, OC, etc. so it's actually not a bad deal.  This card was like $350 with no rebate earlier in the week.  Overall, it seems like 580s are remaining in stock more and the prices are slowly creeping back down to normal, though who knows when the miners will buy everything up again.  It seems they are snatching up the Vegas moreso than anything else.

Did someone say 'The Division'?

I actually forgot to get my coins yesterday.   First streak death since Chrono launched.  Sad panda.  Also I need to see this movie now.   Wheeee!

For Steam, a little early Christmas present/teaser:

Play HITMAN™
HITMAN™ Holiday Pack - A FREE download that includes the first major story mission from the game, ‘Showstopper’, plus all of the Escalation Contracts released for Paris, the ‘Holiday Hoarders’ mission plus the Paris Challenge Packs and achievements too! Also allows you to play the future re-activated Elusive Targets in Paris.

We'll have to hope that GOG & Ashot P from Gamersgate can save us, from all of this insanity of poor Steam sales and Mr. Grinch Ajit being a mean one by giving the ISP's all of the Internet power.

Oh, hell...who am I kidding?

We're all so screwed, it ain't even funny...

I got my first desktop PC the other day! I'm looking forward to some Steam sales. They have a big sale around Christmas correct?
Welcome to the PC CAG side! Just FYI, the very first two posts of this thread may be very helpful for someone just getting into PC gaming and want to do it CAG style. For instance, use enhanced steam for web browser extension. Bundles can be useful - humble bundle has best quality. Ask questions if you want, please know that we also talk off topic quite a bit; pizza, shoes, etc. Have a nice day.

Put about ten hours into Homefront: Revolution.  It's meh.  With some more effort it could have been a really good game but they went with copy-paste Ubisoft formula.

I guess "meh" is good in Mooby standards if it lasted you 10 hours
I give games a fair chance unless they are truly awful (Arcania comes to mind). As I mention in my prestigious Steam review, if the game had focused solely on the yellow-zone areas where you have to play stealth/hit-and-run before you're completely overwhelmed with maybe a final open battle at the end, that would have been a better formula. It does little to nothing new. No reason for these studios that are funded by publishers not to try their hand at a little improvising.

Meh = I'd be fine with getting it in a bundle but it's nothing I would purchase separately.

I think it's underrated.

I don't think it's "meh", as that is what the critics thought of it. I don't think it's fantastic either.

It's a good and solid Far Cry 3 & 4 style game that has a few spins on the genre - i.e. the way you swap gun parts out on the fly to build other guns; and the whole North Korean took over an urban & futuristic Philly.

Story and character stuff ain't anything special, either - as at every chance, before things get interesting, someone dies or gets written out of the story.

But, I think most players came here for the Far Cry 3&4 style open-world and gunplay, pretty much. If that's what one is looking for, it's solid and good.
