It took 5 days for me to just get my $10 code redemption from them. I have no idea how their system over there is so ancient when they are literally in the business of technology.
 
Did the PS4 Pro console only from last month come with a 20% off PSN code?  My nephew got one last month and wants to buy a game on PSN.  He left box at his grand mothers house.  Before he drives her crazy looking for a code I wanted see if there even is one to be found.

I could have sworn more recent Pros didn’t have a code from the way people were talking. Sony was issuing them a $10 code soon after purchase via message on the console itself.

I’d still look in the box just in case though.
 
well at least it's not just me with the lack of points

so now it's like when the power goes out and I don't call myself because I know my neighbors are calling them every 30 minutes till it comes back on

After spending the weekend with my PS3, I'm considering both Kane & Lynch games and Murdered: Soul Suspect for $1.49 each. I have plenty of money on my PSN for them, but I'm on the fence because all of them have average reviews. Worth it?

I just recently completed the "Try 4 PSN services, Get a 15% off coupon" as part of the Sony Rewards. I assume I should receive an email with a code for the 15% off. If so, how long after completing this should it take for me to receive it? The fourth item checked off 2+ days ago and states "Congratulations for just scored a 15% discount...."  but I have yet to receive anything.

I picked up a Pro from Amazon a few weeks ago and mine came with a 20% off code and I got a notification with another code for a $10 credit added to my PSN account a little while after. There was a little four panel insert in the box that has a 20% off code at the end, it's not exactly highlighted and easy to miss. Here's a pic of what it looks like: https://imgur.com/a/kWu7D

I have both, but I actually have two 500 gb PS3s so I'm more likely to buy games on PS3 since I have more space there for downloads. I enjoy playing the PS3 as much as the PS4 though. I played Toy Story 3 for over an hour on PS3 the other night! But is Murdered: Soul Suspect worth the buck and change?

For a small price, I’d say sure. Just check your game library first. It was a PS+ game at one point.

Kane and Lynch is designed for co-op. It can still be fun in a cheesy b-movie kind of way if you play it solo. 2 was better than the original if I remember correctly.

Thanks for responding. $1.49 might not seem like much, but my goal for 2018 is to spend less on games than I did on 2017. For the amount of time that I spend gaming these days, it doesn't make sense to invest too much on a single title, but $1.49 each isn't very much at all. So I'm buying all three games.
 
Maybe a little off topic, I'm interested in doing a trial for PlayStation Vue so I can watch the college playoffs. I searched online and looked in my new Pro console box and didn't see anything beyond the standard 5 day trial. Does anyone have any tips where to get the longer trial?

Kane & Lynch 2 is only 3-4 hours long anyway so not a big time investment or anything. I actually would recommend it for that price, the shooting is competent enough but the game has some real style to it. Has a very low quality handheld cam look to it with how the cutscenes are shot and with the action in game (random artifacts on the screen and headshots have a pixel-ish blur on them.) All the UI stuff is meant to be as if you're watching a video online as well (loading screens are replaced with "buffering" messages instead and stuff like that.)

I think it's worth that price just for the visuals alone.

I haven't played Armello, but want to. It's board game-ish, so be aware of that.

I found DA:I terrible. Awful AI and combat, nowhere near as good as the original [Origins]... also, there's just too much stuff to pick up. Everywhere.

Lords of the Fallen - slightly more arcade-y feeling Dark Souls. It's okay.

I wish I didn't have a backlog, but if I see a game that looks aweswome, and it's normally too expensive but on sale for $4, I figure I should get it now or else I'll forget about it, or want it when it's not on sale.

I'm surprised I'm not hearing more about Shadow of War.

It's -so- good. Like, it's everything from the first, but less janky, far more fleshed out, and just all together well done. Army buiding/etc just really adds so well to the open world of the game - you don't just feel like you're getting new skills, but literally changing the landscape of the maps as you dominate captains/etc.

I wish more open world games played with territory control -- heck, I remember when GTA:SA had that, and I couldn't -wait- for GTAIV to see where they took territory control, only to find it nowhere.

That's probably why. A lot of people probably felt that game was incredibly overrated. I know I did. The game was built around the nemesis system and combat. Nemesis was innovative while a game built around combat was not. I thought it was dull and boring. I find Arkham combat lazy in games and usually badly designed as they're style and nothing technical about them. Quintessential style but no substance game. It kinda reminded me of how bad Assassin's Creed combat is usually designed where you press one button with a counter and have piles of dead bodies around you with flashy cinematic kills. They occasionally will throw a huge enemy in the crowd that can't be countered to prevent the game being a mindless button masher. The world building was dull in the first game. Practically everything outside the combat was dull in that game. For it to win GOTY awards with DAI that year it just shows you how bad it was for gaming. IMO of course.

Shadow of War actually saw a deep decline in sales compared to the first game in the same time period. Glad you're having fun with the game. I'm sure it's good for what it is. Sequel does look better than the original can't deny that.

I hate when that happens. More so because of the whole $5 minimum bullshit. Only one of the big three that forces you to get at least $5 of credit. MS did long ago with their point system. But they ditched it.

Sony needs to join the rest of the world in 2018.
 
The $5 limit is one of my biggest complaints with PSN. Especially when it comes to buying credit. If I have $5 Amazon credit I'd like to be able to trade that for $5 PSN. But nope, not a thing. It needs to be though.

I feel you, brother. I still have a cart full of games waiting to pull the trigger on, but I just. Can't. Do it. I'm budgeting all my titles for the year based on sales deals, not necessarily what I want to play. And I don't know how these last two weeks of PSN sales are going to shape up. It's very stressful and it's only the first of the year.

Sometimes I feel that I can't afford to be a CAG, if that makes any sense.

I mean, the nemesis system is amazing. And the combat is solid - the captains and their extremely fleshed out systems plus a wide variety of enemies kept combat interesting for me.

And I don't even know how to process your comment that a game built around combat is a 'problem'... the vast majority of games are built around combat systems. This is one of them, and it's done well - more important to my point, they built an entire army system around it to add depth.

Did you play on easy or medium? I'm on Nemesis and combat provides a constant challenge, and I think they're an even harder level than that.

Eve has received more support but it's just OK IMO unless you really like arcade space shooters. It's good but will really need time investment to appreciate.

Battlezone is a roguelike with clean graphics and randomly generated, maps, enemies etc. I'll likely go back to it (unlike Eve) since it doesn't need a community to work. It plays well and has decent variety and pretty cool upgrade tree for variety and some replayability.

Observer was alright but I found it too dystopian and didn't care for the Horror element. It' around 6 hours I hear and I played about 3, enough to get the plot and see where it was going. If you don't mind a lot of darkness in your sci-fi (more than Blade Runner or something you might associate with the game) it seems like a solid game. Also, it's pretty simple and straightforward and seems like a relatively easy plat.

Didn't play Setsuna.

Me and my gf just did our 4th playthrough and we still cant get the true ending, always get credits in part 3. And there's supposedly 5 parts. And u gotta start from the beggining each time, no chapter select or anything. So each playthrough we had to do over about 2 hours of work

I usually love games like this but this shit is pissing me off

Nintendo is the best in the business. BOTW has become the best game I've ever played. I may be a little bias towards the Zelda series but wow, it's just so amazing. I loved Odyssey and will be going back to that game if just to slowly creep towards getting all of the moons. Now I need to play the other heavy hitters like Persona 5, Horizon and the rest.

I think I'm going to penalize myself a meal with each game I buy. It'll encourage me to lose weight and save more.
