I've been led to believe that the limit for trade credit is ~$1000. Is it really that much higher than that?

Tried trading a Bayo 2-only copy fomr Best Buy earlier today and got rejected for not having Bayo 1. Not sure if that's the official line or because the manager's a stickler.
