Maybe tired? Maybe smaller? Tough to say since I missed the previous 3 shows at Wells Fargo.
It was a lot of families, so perhaps the fans who'd traveled to Philly had already left (acknowledging 4 straight nights of shows in the same building is impossible to take in)? I agree that it was a...
(May)be I am. ;)
Absolutely the WF is not the easiest to get to if you're taking public transit. A combo of trains and buses works, and the parking situation is strange. But we love it and it's the perfect size for a small indy to run a show. At least you're not fighting for south philly...
Wanted to post back in here to say I really really hope you guys start paying attention to CHIKARA (again?). Sooner than later is great, but definitely later this year.
;)
Gordon Solie above all, but Lance Russell - how wonderful to be someone that *everyone* in the world seemed to remember fondly?
In 2017, everyone is a piece of human garbage - google allows people to search, cherry pick, and use one incident to label a person's entire life. Lance was such a...
hahaha - yeah, there's been just too much great wrestling the last month. Gimmie some gimmicky bullshit tonight. :D
I have strong thoughts on Tye and how the "10" chant actually hurts wrestling as a whole (not intentionally, mind) - but I gotta run off to a show, so I'll discuss that later!
I didn't get to see it since Monday is a training day and I was too busy this week to watch on DVR.
The former is great storytelling, the latter, well...
I think giving fans the assurance that they'll see something rare/cool (the demon) is good promotion, even if it comes at the expense of it being a "surprise." There are better storytelling devices you could use to build to fans anticipating seeing the demon there, but sometimes you just gotta...
Corbin is young and I think very raw. His Battleground match w/ Nakamura was a severe, severe let down, and I think it says a lot about him as a performer.
He has a good look and a great persona (rarely, if ever, showing himself to be a likeable "normal guy" - he does a great job of coming off...
Progress was excellent - went up on a lark when friends had a spare ticket. Of guys I wasn't familiar with, really impressed by Mark Haskins and WALTER.
Watched the G1 Finals today. There was one return that made my heart three times its size, and it wasn't Lance Archer and Davey Boy Smith, Jr...
Ugh - I'm still about a week behind on shows (and since they run so often, that basically means I'm about 15 hours of footage behind.)
The emergence of Juice Robinson as a wrestler the crowd respects for his fighting spirit is definitely one of my unexpected highlights this year. I suspect...
