I was over at Wal-Mart this evening and found a bunch of HD DVDs for $14.99 through $19.99.

14.99
Sleepy Hallow
Clerks 2
Lucky Number Slevin
Four Brothers
Pulse
Italian Job

18.99
Big Lewbowski

19.99
Last Samurai
Seabiscuit

Those were all the ones that I could remember, I ended up getting Clerks 2 and Sleepy Hallow. These HD DVDs were seperate from the other HD movies on there own display in electronics. I almost missed them completely, decent sized cardboard cutout with Toshiba and HD DVD written all over it and the red/black in appearance.
Hmm so they dropped the price on some of them back down? I wonder if this is a good or bad sign?
I hope WM leads the way with HD, which SOUNDS bad, but WM has so much sway that if they tell HD-DVD makers that they want to sell HD-DVD's but only under $20, the companies will listen, and then to match it BB and CC will have to have consistently low prices and sales. I would love to see $15 standard for HD-DVD, because I have already decided that's a pretty high price for me in and of itself. Plus it would give HD-DVD a huge advantage over BD, and help phase DVD out sooner.

Downside is if nobody buys and sees the low prices as 'inferior' product, well, we're all doomed I guess.

If you look at the receipt from the Wal-Mart Secret Sale, some HD DVDs were "On Sale" for $15 and others were just $15. The ones that were "On Sale" were marked down from $19 or $20. So all of the DVD's are back to their regular Wal-Mart prices, even though they are cheap to begin with.

P.S. Casino and Blood Diamond should be added to the $19.99 list, if your store still has them.
