CAGiversary!
Generally feeling discouraged as... 130 dollars is a lot of money for me. Just hoping I can get a little encouragement here.
... I have an overseas trip coming up, so I thought I would upgrade my trusty old Blue DS to a DS Lite.
Longer Battery life. Lighter. Brighter, more crisp screens! A perfect upgrade, and I have tons of fun with my small DS library.
So, on impulse, I bought an Onyx DS earlier today. BEFORE I paid for it at EB, I asked the manager if it would be a hassle to return it if it had dead pixels. I'm not generally the kind of person who ever has to return game systems, and I don't want to be that guy who annoys the game store employees. He assured me that returning it would be no problem.
I get home. Insert Meteos...
A vibrantly blue stuck pixel just to the right of the center of the touch screen. Very distracting.
I jump back into the car, and drive another twenty miles back to the store. I return it, chat with the employees nervously, trying to reassure them that I'm not a 'problem customer.'
... Get home, after the store has closed for the night.
Dead greyish white pixel, /closer/ to the center of the touch screen on this one. Even more distracting than the first DS. Noticed it on the screen that pops up during the initial configuration. Where you select English as your language?
I'm not generally a whiner but... dead pixels near the dead center kind of ruin the gaming experience for me. The screen is so small as is.
Not really up for a fight with the game staff tomorrow. I'm going to see if they will simply give me a full refund, as I don't want to have to return it a third time. If that doesn't work, I was wondering if I can be assured that Nintendo will send me a FULLY functional DS if I send this one in for repair?
Have any of you used their warranty service and got a DS back that /wasn't/ perfect?
