$20 off 3 Bluray Movies Coupon @ BB UPDATED Expires 1/14/08

i was so pissed they didn't take the 20 off 3 blu-ray that I went home and printed out like ten potc 10 off blu-ray and bought four potc at world's end for 11 bucks each. I only wanted one but now I'd rather make bestbuy lose money.
Youre a fucking idiot. It didnt work because it takes off 20 bucks.

HOWEVER FOR IT TAKE OFF 20 you have to have an item OVER 20 bucks for the coupon to work. It then takes off 7.33 of each item. Its like with reward zone coupons, if you have 20 in rz money and try to buy something 19.99 they wont let you.

You bitched and got a 20 dollar giftcard for freaking stupidity.

Good fucking job
Wow, you kiss your mom with that mouth? The guy you're calling an f'ing idiot is right and you are entirely in the wrong. The coupon clearly states "any 3 blu-ray movies". It does not require the movies to be priced over $20. If the cash register system is programmed otherwise, that's a problem with the programming. $20 giftcard seems like pretty reasonable compensation for all the jerking around the store did. It isn't much, but then again the customer was free to flip Best Buy the bird and walk out at any time instead of wasting his time in the store.

Used a second coupon I received with my rewards zone bucks so I decided to bite again. Didn't have SuperBad so I picked up High School Musical and The Santa Clause (for my daughters) and the original Dawn of the Dead. Ended up being $4.99 for DotD and $19.99 for the other two.

didn't have any of the 19.99 titles except for santa clause at mine

ended up picking up: rambo first blood, ff4: rise of silver surfer, replacement killers for $53.XX

where's that coupon please?
where's that coupon please?
They sent my coupons with my Reward's Zone coupons. There was a coupon floating around, might be in the OP.
you do know they arent losing money on that right
they are losing money. It's called loss leaders to get people in the store. You'd be suprised how much money they really make on dvd's and blu-rays. if the blu-ray is 29.99 they really make like 3 bucks. they make the most money on audio/video cables and hdtv's and games more than movies now. since I really used a fake coupon they really lost a lot of money.

Not always. BB will get the $10 back from disney, and most of the time the Blu-ray and HD DVD sales are headed by the HDM associations and the stores don't actually take the hit from the sale.

On topic, coupon worked just find for me on a few titles marked $19.99 that I didn't already have.
I'm with wormraper - didn't realize that one item had to be over $20 since it says nothing of the sort on the coupon. Hey, you learn something new everyday.

By the way Ice2Dragon, how would have liked people to react the same way to you about your PS3/PS2 guitar question? Compatibility has been "common knowledge" for quite awhile, but you didn't see anyone go all over you the same way and were in fact, supportive of your question about something that was not necesarily assumed or repeated often.

Classy.
Called common sense.

You have a 20 dollar off coupon.

You buy somethings that 19.99

Oh you can't cuz then the store owes you money. Its not rocket science.

Im curious, how many of you people who are bitching about it not working ACTUALLY got the coupon via email? Or did you just print out the one posted? mhhh?

As for the gh3 thing, Id like to point out, once again, its my girlfriends, not mine. She posted the question, not me. So yeah, feel free to flame her for not knowing anything about compatability @_@

I actually think its because the second time they forgot to scan his reward zone card. I had no problem using the coupon on three of the $19.99 titles.
So basically I plan on picking that up with Shoot 'Em Up and a placeholder for 3:10 to Yuma which comes out the day after the coupon expires. Pick up my three movies Jan. 1, and then exchange dummy movie Jan 8th.
Does that actually work?
I want Shoot em and Yuma
but I also want Sunshine.

I would settle for just one out of the two.

Have you done that before xcoax? If this works that would be wicked awesome. Thanks for the tip.

I'm hoping it will. haha They should still be in "I don't care" return mode since Christmas returns go until Jan 31st, so I'm hoping for the least amount of resistance possible.

I haven't tried this sort of thing at Best Buy, but I've done the whole "placeholder" thing many times during a Toys R Us buy two get one free sale only to return them for something else that comes out just after their sale ends. So basically just think about how uptight your Best Buy staff is before you try it, since it'll most likely be a YMMV thing.

I tried using the coupon today on the $19.99 movies and the person at the register wouldn't go for it. They said you could only use the coupon on full price movies...even though the coupon doesn't state that. I didn't put up much of a fight about it since I couldn't even find a decent 3rd movie anyway. Everything was out of stock.

As someone else pointed out, they got it to work for 3 $19.99 titles - meanwhile, another was denied. So where is this common sense you're touting coming into play?

In addition, you even said it yourself earlier that the coupon ultimately deducts the $20 discount evenly across the three titles (edit: not exactly sure where you got that $7.33 number from...). Hence, the company doesn't owe you money...and that's not rocket science either. (esp. since this isn't a "Take $20 off one single Blu-Ray disc" - although I'm sure that would be a very cool coupon)

People are trying to figure out how this coupon works and you being so righteous about information that is either wrong or YMMV doesn't exactly help. However, you are correct that people should state if they used an original or printout of the coupon to guage success rate.

Finally, who's flaming your girlfriend? I think you utterly didn't understand what I was getting at and has nothing to do with GH3 at all - there's various things each of us might not be aware of, which is why we're here on this forum in the first place. You being a jerk to someone about something that isn't exactly as "common sense" as you say it is (as pointed out above) doesn't make you in the right - it just makes you being a jerk to someone.

Dude, if you can't see it, then good luck to you at not getting banned permanently eventually.

Actually common sense would show that this coupon will work on 3 blu-ray movies priced at 19.99 each since the coupon says take $20 off any 3 blu-ray movies and says nothing that they have to be atleast $20 in the fine print.

I picked up Resident Evil Trilogy, 3:10 to Yuma (which was out in mass on the shelves), and Shoot em Up for $107... not bad as it ends up being $20 each movie plus tax.

The original Reward's Zone coupon took $20 off one of my movies the two times I used it. So, the coupon wasn't spread out evenly for my purchases. The first one, MoH V4 was $24.99 - $20 for a total of $4.99 and it was the same with the second purchase (DotD).

Went down to BB early this morning, the streets were nearly empty, and the store wasn't packed as usual, and yet the RE tote bags were already all gone, no Superbad BR, no Casino Royale BR, no Ratatouille BR. Total BS. I went to customer service where there was no one in line, and got them to price match the Superbad BR I bought last time, which is better than nothing.

shot down.
went for Resident Evil Trilogy, Oceans 13 & POC Worlds End. coupon wouldnt scan so waited while the cashier asked.....after a few min guy came over & said it wouldnt work because it said it couldnt be combined w other offers & since they were on sale it was an offer...
so that makes 3 times w diff coupons i couldnt use...last time i tried the 10% off toy coupon my nephew was getting covers for DS lite. they said it wasnt a toy.
before that it was reward zone coupons that were mailed to me. i wanted to use it off Bluray player that had dropped in price & they said it was a diff model
(which it wasnt) i ended up getting the exact same model at CC at the lower price plus AAA discount...
so thanks for the tip anyway
Does this coupon work on BestBuy.com orders?
It's an in-store coupon, not an online coupon.

Just got back from my sucessful use of the coupon. I instore pickup'ed Superbad to make sure I'd get one, and then I picked up Shoot Em Up off the shelf and then saw that they had one last Ocean's 13, so I grabbed that. My use of the coupon was a bit different since it was actually only two movies the way the lady did it. She rang Superbad up as usual and then took $10 off the other two on a different reciept, making it Ocean's for $9.99 and Shoot Em Up for $19.99.

I guess I'll never find out about the whole placeholder thing since I'm going to keep Ocean's 13, and if I didn't, buying 3:10 to Yuma in Best Buy with tax would come out to be more than the Amazon order I've already got set up anyway, so its not worth the trouble.

Shot down at the BB in St. Peters MO. Got the RE trilogy, Die Hard 4, and Shoot Em Up and the cashier scanned my RZ card and then tried the coupon (even entered it manually) and it didn't deduct anything. Oh well:cry: She of course claimed it was because all the BR I picked up were on sale and not at their normal price.
ugh. i went to 4 bb's around San Diego and couldn't track down Casino Royale, 300 or Superbad.
Yeah, I know quite a few people who were picking up some of the same movies...I myself picked up Casino Royale, Superbad, and Blade Runner with the coupon...did it Sunday though.

I work with someone else who did the deal on Sunday and picked up Live Free or Die Hard, Superbad, and Silver Surfer...I think many of these titles are gonna be tough to find unless a resupply comes soon.

These coupons won't work on box sets...thats why it didn't work. It is not supposed to work on sale prices, but it will...take the box set out and you are fine.

Others have picked up RE box set without a problem. Unfortunately the store didn't have anything else worth picking up since they were out of stock on so many of the sale BR (Superbad, POC:AWE, etc)

I had the coupon to work on my titles. The girl couldnt get it to work and called a CSR over, she hit a button typed in the UPC code and bam it popped up on screen and came right off.

The printout would not scan for some reason though. It took a flat $20 of my 24.99 movie and she rang that one up last.... It might be tough to trade that one out for 310 to yuma now!

They could technically deny the coupon on the $19.99 sale titles because the coupon says "not valid with any other offers" and those titles are officially $29.99 with a "$10 instant savings". I purchased Punisher ($17.99), Stargate ($17.99) and Superbad ($19.99 after instant savings). They had problems scanning the coupon, but eventually the manager just came by and told the person to just mark Superbad as $0.00 as part of a "package discount".

I got 3:10 to Yuma, RE:Extinction and picked up Ocean's 13, but will probably swap that one for Live Free/Die Hard when it comes back in stock.. got a raincheck
Thanks OP!

3:10 to Yuma is not supposed to come out till next week. What store did you go to?

Some stores have been lazy and put it out early. My store had the DVD version out but not the Blu-ray. I tried to get them to get me a copy of the Blu-ray but they weren't having it.

I went in to BB looking for Yuma and Sunshine to with Shoot Em. They didnt have them.

So I said what the hell. I tried the coupon on the RE box. It wouldn't scan but the cashier kept trying. Then they called a manager. She said it should be 3 different Skus. Then the cashier 'but it is 3 seperates. I then told her it should work since it's a 3-pak and not a true trilogy.

She ended up doing it manually. I had no intention of buying the set. But the coupon worked so now I'm going to marathon all 3.
$38.99 woo hoo.

That's what I attempted to do at 2 separate Best Buys but both denied me no matter the argument, they said it would count as one. They didn't even have RE 1 or 2 individually but even if they did, $40 for all 3 hi def is my cutoff; hell even that is a bit much.

And of course neither of them had any copies of Casino Royale, Live Free or Die Hard, or anything else that I wanted that was a decent price ($30-35 movies? No thanks!).

I'm hoping the stores get a resupply on Friday or Saturday. They didn't have ANY of the following at either store...I would have gone for it with at least RE Trilogy + Casino Royale or Die Hard 4 and something else...too bad I can't use Best Buy gift cards on amazon, hahahaha!!!

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End >>>> $19.99

Superbad: Unrated, Extended Edition >>>> $19.99

The Departed >>>> $19.99

Ocean’s Thirteen >>>> $19.99

Ratatouille >>>> $19.99

Happy Feet >>>> $19.99

Casino Royale >>>> $19.99

300 >>>> $19.99

Harry Potter & Order Of The Phoenix >>>> $24.99

Live Free Of Die Hard >>>> $24.99

Does anyone know if this coupon will work with Planet Earth? I know some people have gotten it to work on RE: Trilogy. Planet Earth seems like a stretch since RE: Trilogy comprises of 3 separate movies while PE is more of one movie stretched across multiple discs.

I don't have the coupon in front of me but does it specifically say it is on Blu Ray movies only?

I would think that you could get it to work on Planet Earth no problem, provided you treat it as 1 item and buy it with 2 more Blu Rays (i.e. it won't work to get you $20 off of JUST Planet Earth alone). The lady told me it would work with box sets too, like Lost Season 3 etc.
Just called to complain. They're issuing me a $20 gift card, and forwarding my comments to the store mgr.

The CSR did stand by the fact that coupons can not be used on sale items. Has anyone been able to use the coupon without cashier override on 3 on sale blu rays?
Picked up Shoot 'Em Up (on sale), HP5 (on sale) and Pan's Labyrinth today with no problem. They have to read the instructions on the coupon and follow them for it to work.

I realize that asking them to read is like pulling teeth but it's the only way the coupon would work for me today.
Youre a fucking idiot. It didnt work because it takes off 20 bucks.

what's that old quote, something about keeping your mouth shut because opening it only confirms you're an idiot? I'm sure I messed it up but it's close. It does nothing of the sort - it takes $20 off one of the titles and in my case it took it off of Pan's. $7.33...that's the bullshit in this thread.

Oh holy hell, that took too much effort. Between visits to four stores in the greater Orlando areas due to lame inventory systems and a couple return/re-buys, I got Ratatouille, Superbad, Pirates...At World's End, Shoot 'Em Up, and Curse of the Golden Flower.

On both final transactions, the coupon took $20 off of one movie, and I always had one that was $24.99+ which it did the discount on. If anyone's having trouble with the coupon with the sale items, I'd wager it's more likely that it's because it doesn't have a $20+ movie (read: not $19.99 or less) to take the discount from, rather than the problem being because the movies are already on sale, which is still a valid reason to deny the coupon based on the verbage listed on it.

I just received another coupon from BB with my Reward's Zone certificates. Maybe Superbad will come back in stock by Saturday. Definitely will try with the RE Trilogy.

i used it again today on three 19.99 movies and it worked fine

the coupon wouldn't scan again, but she put in the UPC manually and it took 19.99 off of one movie and 1 cent off another

BTW the 3 RE movies in the box are individually wrapped with their own plastic and white stickers.

They really are seperate. Spidey box came without individual plastic.

Does anyone have a scan of the Disney $5 off coupon? I can't get the stupid thing to print out (it goes to my printer but doesn't actually print). I sent them a request to mail me a copy but I'm betting by the time I receive it, the movie I want (Rat) won't be on sale anymore.
