A couple of 4850 can be had right now from newegg for $150 - $160 AR and AC. You can read about it here.
The problem with crossfire is you'll need a motherboard that supports it, such as those with Intel chipset. So it's not as easy as picking 8800 SLI or ATI crossfire, it depends on what motherboard you already have or will be getting.

just curious.. can you dual view with the ati cards in crossfire?
One reason i dont tend to sli up anymore is that with nvidia you usually cant enable dual view with more than one card..
