I was thinking about getting the real Castlevania games. I've never played Adventure and I don't own it, so this might be good for me.

I bought Mirror of Fate in physical. A few of them. I couldn't find my receipt for some bizarre reason so I'm stuck with them now. Worst game of the year for sure.

 
Oh man!  Well, maybe in a few years you can unload them on half.com.  Who knows.  It would get my vote for worst game of the year, or biggest disappointment.  I don't know what I was expecting, but sheesh.

I had Adventure back on the original Game Boy.  Never could get very far.  Then again, I could never get very far in NES Castlevania either.  :)  I remember really liking the music on Adventure.  I should pick that one up on the VC sometime for nostalgia value.

 
I remember when I tried the Mutant Mudds demo some months ago. I had to have it! Didn't want to wait for a sale. I think I paid $8.99.

This is a good price for it. Refreshing, yet old school. Getting it whenever it comes to the Vita, too! Might think about getting the PS3 version if they do cross save when they port them.
 
The producer for Mirror of Fate really sold it, but the game itself sucked. I was hoping for a solid game like Dawn of Sorrow, which is not that great, but a very solid and enjoyable game but we didn't even get that. There's no point in a second run. Heck, I don't even feel like there was a point in a first run.

The first few are tough. I played Dracula X Chronicles (which was horrible for jumping) and I unlocked Rondo of Blood (which at least wasn't too far into the game because I just played that instead of the remake. I liked it, but it was tough. Freakin' Death moves so fast and smooth compared Richter. I think that's as far as I got before I packed the game somewhere I can't find it now. The remake had some movement issues, so the port of the original was much better.

 
Yeah, I really loved the Dracula X Chronicles!  It's tough though, for sure.  Still, lots of stuff in one game.  Symphony of the Night is in there, too!  I want to get it on the PSN for my Vita.

Have you played Order of Ecclesia and Portrait of Ruin?  I actually like them quite a lot.  Dawn of Sorrow is good, but I like them even better.

And yeah, was hoping for something along those lines with Mirror of Fate.  I excitedly downloaded the demo and just as excitedly deleted it, only it was a different kind of excitement (sorrow mixed with rage, I suppose).  I don't know why Konami farms the Castlevania series out.  Apparently the console entries have done well for them.  Maybe Mirror of Fate has, too (sad, if so).  We may never see a good, Japanese-produced, 2D Castlevania ever again, done either in sprites or in polygons.

Yeah. I played both Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclessia. I actually don't like their gimmicks, but they're not bad. I was surprised by Order of Ecclessia's story. It wasn't half bad. I thought that the gameplay might be the redeeming feature. Portrait of Ruin was quite good.

I hope that Konami still makes 2D Castlevania, but everything is moving away from it. Even Nintendo's handhelds which have kept it alive has moved to 3D, so we might lose that.

There was a major shift to 3D for Metal Gear, but I think it says a lot that Castlevania still had 2D going into last generation.

 
 I actually liked Mirror of Fate, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. They're all good in their own ways. Finished Mirror of Fate last week. No complaints really.

Don't trade in to Gamestop.  They're cons.  Sell it on half.com!

Still can't decide whether to get MH3U or just wait for 4.  aghhh life is hard.

The way you wrote this makes me think that you are somehow under the impression that the 3ds castlevania "mirror of fate" is a 3d game. Its not, Its a 2d side scroller with 2.5 d graphics (what the kids these days call sidescrollers with 3d visual depth that doesn't affect the game) Just a factoid for you in case you were unaware or misinformed.

 
Hopefully Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U will hit $20 (retail) soon.

Dammit, my 3ds XL is currently charging. It keeps saying that I need more battery power to buy MH3U. I'm going to be extraordinarily salty if I charge the system just in time for the price to go back to $40.

I don't think that's a thing... can you select download later? Are you sure it's not telling you that you don't have enough blocks (free memory) to download?

 
If your battery gets low, it will refuse to let you purchase anything until you start charging it up. Then you can purchase something once it's charging.

 
That's one of the weirdest things I've ever heard.  I wonder if he got it charged in time to buy?  Can you not just plug it in and make the purchase?

The only place I have seen it for $20 is gameflys used game sale. I picked up my WII U copy then or I'd be all over this deal as I already have it for 3ds and can't wait to transfer over my save.

It's gotten nothing but great reviews.

I was waiting for a sale.  Not much of a sale, but it's better than full price!  So I grabbed it today.  I don't know when I'll actually play it.  :)  Looks fun!

That's better than me; I unwrap, play for somewhere between 10 minutes and 25 hours, then get distracted by something else. I then go back to said game, have no idea what I'm doing, and have to restart, which isn't a big deal if I've only played an hour, but when I've played 10+ hours on something and have to start over.... makes me feel like a crazy person!

I remember when all I had to play on 3DS was Zelda and crappy virtual console games. Now look at me! I'm like one of those people who takes some of everything from the buffet and only eats a tiny bit of each.

was thinking about grabbing a few of the 2 buck games but most look like pure trash with the reviews

 
I was thinking about Murder on the Titanic and Gardenscapes.  Any opinions on whether or not they're any good for $2...given the fact that I like the occasional Popcap/I Spy hidden object game?
