Well, according to what they say on the eShop on my 3DS right now, I just bought Steamworld and Mutant Mudds, and they both say clearly on the ad "through 1/2" (so I know for a fact the ones I missed said through 1/1 because I planned on buying them tonight...which is 1/1). No big deal though. Now I know how the eShop sales work.
No problem. I just see enough people complain about missing sales here that don't check out the OP, which is frustrating when it's easily preventable.

Been wanting to get Liberation Maiden for a while now. I see it's also on IOS now though and for $2. Anyone try both and have any thoughts on which system it plays better on or if the 3D on the 3DS makes the game better?

I was wondering the same thing, and went with the 3DS version just to have the tactile feedback of the stick and buttons.

Bravely Default demo goes up tomorrow.  :bouncy: Good of Square to put it up this early. Seems like a good sign.

Liberation Maiden is very touch-focused with controls similar to a Sin & Punishment, where you move with the analog nub and aim/fire with the stylus. I don't know anything about the iOS version to compare them.

So I bought Attack of the Friday Monsters and loved it, would you suggest Crimson Shroud or Liberation Maiden?

Well we know it's good, it's been out in EU for a month and most NA outlets have already reviewed it. Nintendo just realizes they need to build some buzz around it.

The only reliable places I've found are Barnes and Noble, McDonald's, and Starbucks (but apparently not the new one).
Also try Home Depot and Fedex Office (Kinko's). Due to Home Depot being so large, they have multiple servers running throughout their store; if you go in and stroll through the entire place, you're bound to get a few sets of streetpasses in one visit.

Is Project X Zone worth it? I played the demo and it was cool, but seems like it may get repetitive.
It was worth it to me at full price (bought it the day it came out).

Google "HomePass". Trust me.
I might have read the doc wrong, but it sounds to me like I need to be able to change the ssid of my router, which is something I have no control over (the cable company does). Is there some other way to do it without spending $$?

I think Nintendo just needs to release Shovel Knight so I can buy it for my 3DS!!!! :)
Nintendo had nothing to do with Shovel Knight. (Or is it stuck in approval-process limbo or something and I missed it? :( Hope not, because the 3DS version is the one I want, too. I think the game is just not finished yet, which has nothing to do with Nintendo.)

Square has nothing to do with Bravely Default. We have Nintendo to thank for translating and publishing it. So fill out your surveys and tell Nintendo you want Dragon Quest and Youkai Attack and MORE RPGS! :)

There's nothing else like Friday Monsters, but I'm really glad you liked it! Crimson Shroud might float your boat. It's really rough, but it's great, and it does have some stuff in common with Friday Monsters.

That sounds awesome! We don't have any Home Depots here, though, as far as I know, nor any Kinko's. I didn't know they were Nintendo Zones, though. It's frustrating, because we have a fair number of Nintendo Zones here if people would just turn the stupid things on.

Ugh I wish they made things easier to link your eShop account. Just got my new XL and was trying to link it to my Wii U account with all my funds on it and it took forever to find out how to do it and missed SteamWorld by one lousy minute.

I should have went into better detail. I know another developer is making Shovel Knight, I just wish it was ready for release. I am patiently waiting that....well maybe not patiently waiting. :)

debating cave story vs steamworld dig.. both look like platformers? What makes Cave Story different?
Cave Story's more like a shooter game and has a retro aesthetic. It's longer, tougher, and involves exploration in more varied areas. Steamworld has a more modern graphical style and is almost like 2 games in one, half horizontal platformer and half "vertical" with digging downwards, with a bit more of a relaxed feel to it (almost no real "boss battles" to speak of). I'd recommend getting both if you like Metroidvanias, they're both worth it.

Steamworld looks really good, but seems a bit much for what I have heard is a rather short game.
My first play took me 4:15. It is short, but at least for the sale price, I thought it was worth it. If you want to try before buying, the original Cave Story is free on PC :p (Though I'm wondering why Cave Story 3D isn't on the eShop, weird...)

I haven't played Steamworld, but Cave Story has a good amount of replayability.
True, but not everyone goes for that - myself being one of them(I've got way too much to play in such a small amount of available free time).

As far as going through the game one time, they're just about the same as far as playthrough time.

Played a bit of the Bravely Default demo. Little overwhelmed by it all. Honestly don't know what the  fuck is going on. Probably too tired to give it the amount of attention required, but I can already tell it's not for the faint of heart.

Sarcasm. Without the demo, you'd think they forgot what day of the week it was since nothing else was released today.
Funny thing is, I even got an e-mail from them about the demo. I can't recall them doing that any other time (even for full releases).

Welp, I kept putting it off and ended up totally missing most of the deals going on through the holidays.  Shame on me :(  I wish you could buy this stuff through their website like PSN.

Completely agree, it would be so nice. I love how Google dies it with their Play store.

Bought Warrior's Way and so far its pretty fun- seems like an enhanced version of Find Mii.

Yea, it's pretty intimidating at first, so I am basically playing it like a traditional RPG right now, though I am unsure how to equip scrolls. For whatever reason my mage can't cast Esura, which I desperately need.

When you buy magic from the shop it should automatically be usable. Did you level up your mages job so they can use level 3 white magic? I think you have to be level 4 in your job to use it.

It's been about 30 years since any of us played an actual JRPG, so it's no wonder we can't figure out what the hell we're doing anymore. I sure hope this sells.

Still strongly debating whether to get smt4 or not. I still have miracle mask, dream team, sticker star, pokemon x, pikmin 3, wonderful 101, uncharted 2 and 3, mgs4, and gta5 to play through... and that's not including my steam backlog :whistle2:/

Just wait then, you'll most likely be able to find it around $20 within the next few months. Plus, with it being available digitally, it can only go lower.

Is it worth buying Cave Story 3D if I've already beaten the version on WiiWare?

Same here. Lifelong console RPGer (Long live Xenoblade!) and I really want to like this... but something just feels off. Maybe the cynic in me just isn't feeling a demo that makes you grind, grind, grind for little other than SHIT YOU CAN CARRY OVER TO THE FULL RETAIL GAME as opposed to an experience that feels a bit fresher than the typical RPG schtick. Spiritual successor to FF? Meh, so far more like a sequel to an FF. I don't think slight tweaks to turn-based battle is enough to call this an evolution in the least. For that, go play Xenoblade Chronicles. Greatest JRPG of t he last 20 years or so. Maybe going back to turn-based non-active battles is proving too difficult for me. I dunno.
I was about to buy SMT4. Can anyone tell me why a sale that ends on 1/6 does not last until 1/6?
This was discussed in the last page and FAQ regarding how eshop sales end.
