I would be perfectly fine with (but still wouldn't buy) $1.99 Android = $7.99 3DS, but 99c vs $14.99 is outrageous.

Squids is a really cool game, based on the 10 minutes we spend with it today on a Touchpad, but Nintendo is clearly overvaluing its worth for some reason. Maybe because they made it 3D? We all know that gets turned off in the first 30 seconds...
I only play games on 3DS in 3D. I would buy games on a Sony or Ninty platform because I own a Vita & a 3ds, but no tablet. I own a windows 8 phone, so most of the games don't show up until later there. I pay extra for a 3ds version solely for the 3D on a game that's good. I don't buy games without looking at reviews, but I'd never know the games y'all mention are so cheap in other places, were that cheap. My phone is the last place I'd look, as I hate touch screen only controls that get in the way of the visuals. Long story short - me, and others like me, are the ones that probably cause the console creators to charge such high prices.

Don't have a need for a tablet, and they are ruining the future of handheld gaming. The only RPG's on future systems will be remakes, as the whole "app store" phenomenon demands everyone to have a 20 second attention span, and play games in 10 minute sessions. Sony & Ninty are throwing a few spike strips down on the fast road to tablet hell, so I commend them. They sell ALOT less than the exact same game on the iOS, so they have to charge more. Not that much, but I imagine those are sale prices of versions that have been out for a bit being compared to a version with 3d or something similar that's been on the Ninty/Sony markets a very short time.

Sure, I'd love all games to cost me less, but the best thing I'm hearing is that there are choices. Want Steam prices & don't care about portability? Great. Want 3d & willing to pay more? Check. Want portable & cheap? There's the Android/iOS on phones & tablets. The hardest one to justify for me is Vita. If they made the graphics better (a feature Vita is known for, like the 3d on 3ds version) & charged more, ok. To just charge more sucks. If you only have a Vita, fine, but PS+ is where it shines. The bad part is you don't get to choose what's on sale/free. Sorry for super long post :wall:

I would go nuts for a new updated Pokemon TCG game and Pokemon Pinball. Easily 2 of my favorite spinoffs with the Mystery Dungeon Games being my favorite (though I really didn't enjoy the newest game much).

A new Pokemon TCG would be epic.  I still hope it will happen one day.  Until then, YEAH FREE Vivillion!

Really? How does Pokemon differ from the other franchises, in that having the original games available would hurt sales?
I don't think it would hurt sales, but Pokémon is a little weird in the sense that you traditionally migrate all of your stuff forward (hough it did break between the leap from Gold/Silver/Crystal to Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen). Considering the age range of players, there could be some confusion to why you can't import your original Charizard to X/Y.

The Pokemon TCG game is coming out in Europe.

I hope Pokemon Pinball hits the VC. I'd buy that. Still have the original cart, too.
Oh man, I'd buy Pokémon Pinball in a heartbeat!

I hope the Pokemon card game opens the door for the real GB/GBC/GBA games to be released on 3DS. With poke-bank support of course.

IT'S TOTALLY POSSIBLE, AMIRITE?
At the very least, not until Nintendo develops a Virtual Console emulator that can emulate the link cable, whether via wireless or internally.

It's a panda suit. The codes should be on cards with the instruction manual (physical version) or on your receipt (digital version)
Oh, okay. Hmm. Guess that's how one of my Miis got a panda suit. I sure don't remember ever getting a receipt with an eShop purchase though. Confuzed by lyfe 2k14

Do you guys remember the old Game Boy Color re-releases of Dragon Quest (actually I think it was still even "Warrior" at the time) I and II on one cart and III on another? I'd really like them on the VC, but I know that would never happen. I suppose the NES versions would be more likely, but those are really unlikely as well.

Maybe there will be a decent iPhone version of DQ I, II and III someday in the US... The Game Boy Color versions were fantastic, though, aside from the lower resolution the GBC provided versus NES. Guess I should just get out my Game Boy Color...

I would love to see that, as well as Final fantasy legends 1-3 on there, too.
Yeah, I loved those games, and Final Fantasy Adventure. Final Fantasy Legend 2 and 3 both had DS remakes in Japan. They're just called SaGa there, I believe, or maybe it's Makitoshi Saga or something. They re-branded them as FF for the American audience. And FF Adventure is, of course, "Secret of Mana Zero," i.e. the game Secret of Mana was a sequel to (Seiken Densetsu 1 and 2)

Anyway, long story short, those were four great Game Boy games, whatever the titles, and I'd love to see them on the eShop, and I'm sad we didn't get the remakes. The remakes were ugly DS 3D anyway and didn't eliminate the real design flaws of the games anyway (the incessant random encounters). But it would still be nice. :) I'd be really happy with just the originals ported into color and fiddled with. Or just the orignals period.....

Sorry for my incessant posts today.

I have a 3DS XL. Sometimes when I close it and put it down, it doesn't go to sleep. I pick it up, and it goes to sleep, set it down, and it is awake again, while closed. Any experience/insight/thoughts? Thought I'd try you guys before e-mailing Nintendo.

Do you have a case around it? It could be that the shell is not closed enough to put it in sleep mode and when you pick it up, you cause the shell to close just enough to put it in sleep mode and when you put it back down the normal rest state of the case forces it open again?

Nope, no case. Smart thinking tho!

Just wanna chime in and say Inazuma Eleven is great if you love Shonen/sports anime. It was a good deal at $20. A must buy at $10.
+1. I like to think of it as a weird, Japanese school rpg that just happens to have a football combat system. Let's buy it up and get is them sequels.

Any hint as to what game you're playing at the time, or does it happen with all games? It could be a software bug in the game you're playing.

More smart thinking! I hadn't thought of that either. However, I can confirm that it happened with Retro Game Challenge (a DS cart) and with one of the Mii Plaza games. I'll have to see if it happens in other games, too.

:) that's like saying SMB 3 is unplayable without a d-pad, or like an NES is unplayable without a tv.
could play dodgeball with NES without a Tv but hurts like hell when the system hits you.

I mean even if you have one dead spot on the touch screen the game is almost unplayable cause it will not register you touched that art of the screen

Pokemon Pinball without the rumble pack?

BLASPHEMY.
Well, that's why I still have my original cart and a GameBoy Pocket! An eShop purchase would just be for convenience, to show my love of the game, and to show Nintendo they should make more.

That does bring up a good point though, I always preferred this title in Black & White to the Color palette. Is where a way to play GB Compatible GBC games in Black and White on the 3DS?

It's good because a lot of that stuff makes it's way here (and almost always goes to EU first for whatever reason). The bad news is that it's usually a minimum of 6-8 weeks before it does if it's not announced at the same time for NA.
From my recollection LOZ: Minish Cap didnt take nearly that long to come here after the Euro release.

Not everything does but 6-8 weeks has been the pattern on a lot of things like that. If it's only a week like Minish cap I think we'll all be quite happy and throw our money at Nintendo even at whatever over priced amount they have GBC games at.

It's up for me now.
Got excited for a second when I thought you meant the Pokemon TCG. :whistle2:(

It is unlikely that two different games in different formats (one digital, one cart) would exhibit the same symptom unless there was a common issue. I would contact Nintendo at this point. It sounds like faulty hardware to me. I've read online that you could try to simulate closing your 3ds by using magnets or another 3ds, maybe you want to try that out (don't try the magnets, just the other 3ds if you have one) and see if the issue is with the hardware detecting your system is closed and should enter sleep mode.

You just figured it out for me, you clever person! I had no idea magnets had anything to do with anything. But, your mentioning them got my wheels spinning, and I realized that wheneven the issue was happening, it was because I was placing it down on my iPad mini blah blah, which is in a keyboard case that uses magnets to keep itself closed and to auto-wake/sleep the iPad. So the magnets in the case must just interfere with the 3DS's ability to know whether it's supposed to be closed or not. Ha!

Thanks! Now I don't need to contact Nintendo. I bet they never would have been able to figure it out anyway, so you saved me some real anguish. Imagine if I'd had to send my 3DS in when it was all just due to a silly magnet in an iPad cover case. So pleased to have figured this out.

Glad you figured it out. That is a strange one for sure.

It actually does something similar with a DS Lite (and maybe other DS models?). If you put a DS Lite on top of a 3DS , the 3DS will think it's open; while if you put an open 3DS on top of a DS Lite, the 3DS will think it's closed. (Or some such nonsense like that, I may be mixing up the order of what happens to which.)

I have both in front of me at the moment (a 3DS XL and a DS Lite). Might have to fiddle around with it and see what happens. :p

I couldn't get on the store last night, and now I need a system update. When is the sale price on Inazuma live until?
how long has it been since you turned your 3ds on. Could be worse, could have 4 little kids screaming they want to watch the WWE PPV when you have not had the ps3 hooked up for a month and it had to download like 3 updates and took almost 25 mins. The horror the horror. :)

Hehe. I had both experiences. I've had my 3DS on a lot, but it still downloaded the update last evening at some point. However, on the PS3 end, the lady had just made a snack, and I said I'd find something to watch on Amazon Instant Video. I had forgotten the PS3 likes to install 72 updates per month before you can use anything.

Thanks for this info, I didn't know any of that :) Final Fantasy Adventure was my first FF game. It makes sense that's it's actually a mana game. I too really want to see these released on the VC.

I remember getting really far in Adventure, and getting stuck because I didn't have some stupid item I needed to progress. It was extremely disappointing :(
