Phoenix Wright DD for me....Probably Azure too....ugg I hate spending a bunch on DD games....least they're DD only....curse you Capcom...I want Ace Attorney Trilogy physical but I know it wont happen.

Grabbed RE games. While RE feels like something to me that should be played on a console, at those prices it was hard to say no.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U) was tempting as well, but in all reality, RPG genre is not really my cup of tea, outside of things like Costume Quest, Pokemon, and Paper Mario/Mario RPG.

I had a lot of fun with Revelations on 3DS.  It plays wonderfully with a Circle Pad Pro.  Bought an XL version from Amazon this year for less than $20.

Guess I should pick up PR:DD, I've never played the originals and plan on picking up the trilogy remake/redo this fall. Damn my 3ds backlog is getting ridiculous!

I was thinking about circle pad pro XL, but is it really worth it for one game? Does it really make that big of a difference?

it also great for monster hunter and kid Icarus and kingdom hearts so there more then one game it can be used on
Sure, but outside of maybe Kid Icarus: Uprising (and even than, that's a big maybe), I doubt I'll purchase any of the other games compatible with circle pad, so in effect, I would probably only use it for this one game, short of something else coming down the pipeline.

I'm not arguing, I'm genuinely curious. I've played Kingdom Hearts up to the end of the first 2 worlds. What good would a circle pad pro be?

If any of you were thinking about getting Azure Blaster Gunvolt, there is a special bonus. Buy the game before November 28th and receive the 8-bit throwback Mighty Gunvolt for free.

Azure Blaster Gunvolt looks great!

Wish it also available on Wii U. Would rather play it that way. Doubt I'll ever finish it on the 3ds

It is nice to finally see Phoenix Wright DD on sale
but
the sale should have been in placed before the iOS release.

I don't really care for 3D so the higher resolution on the iOS version is better looking (for me at least).

Would have been nice if it was $15 like the iOS version too.

Not sure about Azure Blaster, but the 8-bit game looks great.

I'm thinking of getting Street Fighter IV. I'm not usually into fighting games much, but the cost seems so low. One of the first 3DS games and all. Any input? Only $9.99.

I picked it up the last time it was on sale, and it was better than I thought it would be. I suck at SFIV and this version is no different for me, but it does have a feature on the touchscreen where you press one button to do an ultra combo. The feature can be turned off if you want to be a purist, but I find it tricky to pull off some characters combos with just the main controls.

With online vs and other modes, $10 isn't a bad deal. If I do remember, it does take a big chunk of space on the SD card, so be prepared.

The only other bad thing about SFIV is that all the unlockables are the StreetPass figures. All the characters are given to you right at the start and the story mode is very lean.

Also, fuck Seth.

With all the reviews for Azure Striker Gunvolt going up today, I assumed it was available today. Came home from work to see it's 8/29. Does anyone know if it'll be available for download at midnight?

The good news is I have $15 in credit from DDP so it will be free =) Hard to decide between that and the MK8 DLC, but given that that's a preorder I have awhile.

Are the reviews positive?  It looks cool, also to the person that said he wouldn't get MH3U because it's an RPG, the only thing in that game that is remotely RPG is weapon lvling, and I think maybe skill ups.

It's an extremely grindy game though. The Ultimate version at least did some rearranging of the story missions from Tri so you're fighting a bad nasty monster after a couple of missions instead of hours into the game still just collecting junk. Pacing wise they play kind of like The Souls series if that gives a frame of reference.

Oh, sorry when I asked if the reviews are positive, I meant about the Azure game, sorry.  I have MH3U on both my 3ds, and wii u, and yeah they are very grindy, but it's not grinding for exp, it's grinding for items to make your gear.

The game is more enjoyable online from my experience as you have people who can help show you the ropes and ease the learning curve. It's like a MMO lite so you are going to be doing missions which evolve to boss quests once you have the basics down.

MH has a huge learning curve but if you learn how to play one of them you are good for all of them (i.e. picking up a fps like cod or bf for the first time there is a learning curve at first). Once you get the basics down the fun is learning how to tackle all the monsters (fight patterns) and upgrading weapons and gear from the body drops.

The Wii U version is the most noob friendly of them all because of the online community that helps you out most of the time. I recommend plugging in a usb keyboard for quick questions while online.

If you have a Wii U, you can play the 3ds version online without the wii u game, though.
Only if your Wii U is plugged into an Ethernet cord and you download the free app that allows your 3DS to connect to the Wii U's internet. Confusing but pretty cool!

I'm confused. So basically if we don't buy Azure Striker Gunvolt before Nov 28th, we will never be able to get Mighty Gunvolt?

Mighty Gunvolt is really just a 20 minute mini-game (though a pretty awesome-looking one), and I don't want to miss out on it, but... I am a cheapass. I would like Azure Striker Gunvolt, but I figured I'd wait a while.

No it should be standalone at some point, but if you buy one of the two games it's a cross over with by a certain date you get it for free. At least that's what the original press stuff said.

Isn't Dual Destinies just a combination of two previously released DS titles?

Nope, whole new game. Maybe you're thinking of the compilation of the original DS games that came out in JP and I think is coming here eventually.

RE:R is a great value.
I'm honestly surprised DD went on sale. Didn't think they would. I might have to buy it now.

I was thinking about circle pad pro XL, but is it really worth it for one game? Does it really make that big of a difference?
If you like the way RE4 controls, you'll be fine without the circlepad pro. If you prefer 3rd person shooter type controls like RE5 and RE6, the cpp might be useful. I played the entire thing without and it was fine.

And I almost bit on SMB3 the other day but realized it wasn't cross-buy (for shame!) so indecisiveness once again got the best of me.
Was there a SMB3 sale I missed?

Yeah, I really don't ever see it. If it did it would probably be an extremely limited run on their website or something.
I know but I really hate digital content especially when there's a physical release somewhere. That's why in importing infamous: 1st light from the UK. I'm hoping maybe the sells of Layton vs will convince them to release it. Even if it was $50 on their website I'll bite. I want the whole series physical.

That PW:DD price is lovely, but I'm still holding out for a physical release!
CRAPcom (aren't I original?) has held firm on not translating and not releasing AAI2 outside of Japan. A digital release of DD is probably all we will get. Since I already had a physical copy (I bought Japanese copies of these two games, yes I am crazy/stupid) I caved and bought DD with a discounted points card last year. This is a better deal than what I did. The game is great, although it is easier than the other games in the series due to the removal of most of the exploration and fail states. Streamlined, basically.

Import it and a matching 3DS.

I've only played the first ace attorney game. Should I play the series in any specific order besides by release date or should I still buy but play the rest.

The only "Ace Attorney" game I have ever played is Harvey Birdman on the Wii. I was always interested in the Pheonix Wright games but for some reason never got around to buying one.

Also I would get SSF4 but I'm not sure how my 3ds would handle me throwing the 3ds across the room from fighting Seth.
