I'm curious as well. Chances are it's awful.
off nintendo life

Each level or chapter comes with a predefined number of enemies that don't respawn. Well except for this one... Dem zombies.

Upon finding the stairway you get the option to not advance, but since I never tried that option, I don't know if it respawns the enemies.

The game is.... 1368 blocks.

One thing is s

well if they dont spawn the game has no interest to me

Hopefully some reviews will start popping up soon. It seems odd to me that there is no one on the internet publishing reviews in a timely manner for things like this. Maybe no one cares but us.

The thing about Mighty Gunvolt is that it's really short.  It was "free," but when they sell it, I think it's going to be $3 and is probably not really worth that much.  I wish they'd just made it a bonus mode in the main game.  It would be nice if they made it longer and fleshed it out more.  But yeah, I can see it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes.  :)  My problem is I love the 8-bit style of these fake retro games, but then I remember how life really was for me back in the 8-bit days, when I'd throw and bite (yes bite) my NES controller out of rage.  Even 16-bit games (even Super Mario World) drove me to destruction.

Funny you mentioned chomping on your controller, my girlfriend was telling me how she would do that to her genesis controller when she played the lion king. It's understandable, that game is a bitch.

Haha--I never played that one, although I always wanted to play the Genesis version of Aladdin (got the SNES version instead--why I cared about either, who knows, although the Game Gear version was sort of neat--babble babble). The sound chip alone on the Genesis was irritating enough with many games to compel one to masticate one's controller.

Are these the removable faceplate ones, or the ones where they are not removable?  As much as I like my 3DS XL, I kind of want the regular-sized New 3DS just for the faceplate changing ability (okay, and the Super Famicom color scheme).  Kind of sad the XL faceplates can't be changed.

Did nintendo change their rules or  did the worker  i just  talked to   have no clue what she is saying

Saying as long as you use the same system you can download the same game all you want  (you can delete it and download it again)

i though there was no way to redownload a game once you delete it

You can definitely redownload it if you delete it. It's always been that way, as far as I know.

Isn't that just a regular LL?

Good thing we are not getting it because I would have bought the Groudon one. It's bad enough that it hurts me to hold back and not buy the Smash Bros or NES 3DS but if these were to release in the US I would've had to buy one.
But I want it noooooow. I'm sure we won't get anything near as neat when the New 3DS gets here. Hard enough for me not to buy the Persona one. If I could get better return on my system I probably would since I discovered a dead pixel while redeeming the Smash demo.

The regular sized New 3DS is the one with the removable faceplates which is what that Pokemon system is. You can tell because it has the white/black bands of the inside plastic.

There better be if I've paid for it. I know the WiiU you can with no issue but never had to do it on the 3DS.

I've deleted stuff and redownloaded many times.  You can even back up your save onto the SD before deleting, and when you redownload it, it asks you if you want to use your backed-up save data.  Very smooth process.  Even iOS doesn't do that.  The only thing that is not smooth is the terrible download list (which is almost as bad on iOS and just as bad on PSN and probably Xbox, too--but is awesome on Steam).

Yeah, you've always been able to delete/re-download on a 3DS.

Nintendo may do a lot of things wrong, but that would be a little too out there - even for them.

Aww the New 3ds LL doesn't have the interchangeable faceplates? Man. That's a bummer. =( When these do come state side I will probably still end up with the XL version and just lament at the fact that it'll be plain.

Looks like my wallet is saved this week. Either I am not interested in it (the Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man games), or I already have it (everything else).

Keep in mind the New non-XL 3DS is bigger than the original 3DS. What that means in reality, though, who knows! My main worry is that DS games would look awful on it, as they do on the original 3DS. They look lovely on my XL. But I guess I could keep my XL for DS games and bug a regular-sized New for everything else and transfer all my digital stuff to it (of course).

Reasons: might be nice to have it slightly smaller (trying to convince myself here--smaller in pocket, higher pixels per inch, easier on the eyes); has the faceplates; has the Super Famicom color scheme (which they will likely remove for the US release anyway)

Alas. Probably just end up with the New XL. Better battery life too. The battery life on the original 3DS was awful. It's fine enough on the XL, should be fine enough on the New regular, but should be best on the New XL (ramble ramble)

So i got my 3DS like 2 months ago, and recently joined Club Nintendo. I was wondering how often do we get to do the surveys ? Are they on a monthly basis ? Thanks in advance!

I'll wait for some verification that these consoles make it state-side before I dump my XL's.  That persona Q XL is really tempting though.  There are enough hardware improvements for me to buy in on the new ones.

You get surveys when you buy games. Occasionally they will post up a survey worth 10 coins that asks you about recent purchases as well -- that's generally for them to keep tabs on interests.

But most surveys are:
+10 for intend to buy (usually reserved for their big time titles)

+0 to +40 registering a game (usually depends on the price you've paid but dsiware is worth 0 here)

+10 for post-game surveys (all games get this about a week after you register them)

What do I want to download this week? The GBC Zeldas I've never played or Mega Man 2?
The Zelda games won't likely get cheaper. Link's Awakening is better but the Oracle games are worth your time.

I personally wouldn't want to play MM2 on the 3DS because they don't allow you to remap the buttons on NES games. Playing with B-A instead of Y-B on the SNES-stye layout is really unnatural and weird enough to me that I think it would be a hindrance for a game that requires such quick reflexes. Which is a shame because generally speaking, MM2 is fantastic.

But it's exactly the same except for the additional two buttons above, that and being at a slight angle. You can't just pretend?

I think the angle makes a HUGE difference. The angle on the GBA is slight, the angle on the SNES and 3DS is not, and it makes games like that practically unplayable to me. There's a reason that when Mario and Mega Man went onto the SNES, they remapped the button layout to Y-B even though their NES predecessors used B-A; it's more natural on that layout and multiple developers (both first and third party) recognized it. If it were exactly the same, Nintendo wouldn't have remapped the buttons on the Mario All-Stars ports of SMB1-3 on the SNES, but they did because it was obviously more ergonomic. I realize I might be in the minority here and that's fine but for me personally it's a bit of a deal-breaker.

I think part of it is also me just being a grumpy adult who grew up playing NES games and is frustrated with Nintendo's unwillingness to provide the simplest of options like remapping buttons on the 3DS even though they do so on the Wii U. An official emulated release should at least be capable of doing things I've been able to do on my PC for the past 15 years via emulation. Combine that with the lack of cross-buy and they've generally lost a sale.

THE KEEP

any good and how many blocks
I actually downloaded The Keep on Friday. I used my Wii U DDP points. The game is very similar to Legend of Grimrock. But not as polished which is not surpisung considering this is an eShop title. I've had fun playing it but think at $13 it is a bit steep. I wanted an RPG over the weekend and have no regrets getting it though.

I discovered this after downloading SMB3, and yeah, it ruins it for me.

I've played Mega Man 2 enough already, I guess, and with better controls, so I think I'll just get the Zeldas, cuz I've never played those two.

For NES games, the X button is the same as the B button so you can play the game X-A. Not quite as good as Y-B but a lot better than B-A.

Any "tricks" for saving money on Fire Emblem DLC? Of course I know to try and get the cards when stores have them discounted, and Nintendo did bundle a few of the packs, but I'm thinking about a sale or something else. Any prior sales to give me hope?

I bought SMB3 during the sale and quit playing it because of how uncomfortable B-A was and had no idea that X-A was possible. It makes the game playable for me. Thanks.

From WayFoward's twitter- #Shantae and the Pirate's Curse will likely release in mid-October in the US. We'll announce the date once we have it.  It is NOT the Kickstarter game but its the sequel to Risky's Revenge. Its coming on Wii U and 3DS.

I've been waiting on that so long I can't even remember if it's supposed to be a full retail release or an eShop title.

With the amount of attention it's getting, I'm guessing the latter, though.
