picked up weapons from the L-5 sale.  Played AOTM and Crimson shroud.  Both of those games are definitely worth playing!  Have not broken into Inazuma yet, but maybe towards the end of the week (for new years) I will get some down time and play.

The Legend of Dark Witch, the video looked interesting, but I'm not sure....anyone can vouch for it?

Thinking of picking up Attack of Friday Monsters. I hear a lot of praise, but I just don't get what you do in it. Do you just walk around town and play that card game?

Mostly yes. You walk around town, talk to people, play that card game occasionally and look for other cards to pick up. It's a unique setting and story, but its a somewhat dull game unless you really like playing the card game.

It's a relaxed adventure game from the creator of the My Summer Adventure series in Japan, which are largely about spending time in a village/city and exploring, making friends, playing some minigames, and progressing the overarching story.

It's a decent title. It's basically what you guys were thinking, a Mega Man clone. The more things you kill, the more you power up your shot like a shmup. The bosses are like old school megaman hard, you need to get used to the patterns. Once you beat them, you can change your shot to whatever bosses you've beaten, ala Mega Man. My only gripe with the game is that movement of the character is really slow. Even after a couple speed power ups, it's really slow. As for what you can do off the bat, you can slow your fall, which is tied to a wing meter. There's no sliding or wall jumping (might have to unlock those later, dunno) Also, it seems maybe a little generic, but that's because I don't play on 3ds that much. Though I'd relate it to maybe slightly above a fanmade/doujin game. I've only personally passed the first stage/boss, but for how much it is, can't really go wrong.

I can.

I bought it when I saw it out, and I honestly did enjoy it.

It's a Japanese indie game for sure, (you know their tropes). Gameplay wise it's definitely megaman, and powerups are all done via Gradius style. Defeating enemies building up your gauge, which then you can use to set a powerup, or change your shot type. Death, like gradius is painful and you loose your powerups. Also, there really isn't much in the vein of HP healing. Lots of enemies, unlike megaman and gradius won't hurt you if you touch them. Some do, others don't. Bosses won't (just don't forget it)

There is a second character as well, who gets the same "master weapons" but her regular weapons are very different. And story, I think.

There's also New game plus shop, via Tales of style "Grade shop". You can change the game, including a 1 HP wonder mode. You can also try your luck at a poker minigame to earn more too.

Long story short, Legend of the Dark Witch is The lovechild of Megaman and Gradius raised by Japanese indie/doujin. And to me, it's honestly worth it. Go pick it up, I think you'll enjoy it. It's also very cheap too (naturally, outside of sale), so it's not that heavy of a pricetag.

I recommend it.

Don't forget that the downloads of Game Boy Tetris and 3DS Tetris Axis are being delisted on the E-Shop today.  I bought Game Boy Tetris for my 3DS this morning for $3.99 since it has that nostalgia factor.

To tell the truth, I don't know. The websites that I read never said whether it was specifically happening in any particular territory. But, I figured $4 was a decent deal for a game that I enjoyed as a kid.

I don't know about cross buy for the PSN SK releases, but Wayforward is working on the Shantae sale issue. They haven't given any details, but it seems like the system wouldn't allow it for some reason, as their last update stated that no one could figure out why the system wasn't working. https://twitter.com/WayForward/status/550151984096243713

I'm sure it was an issue on "N" end, as their level of online competence is grade school at best.

 
Amazon does sometimes. I think most places where returns are relatively easy will do it if you talk to CS, assuming their CS isn't completely terrible.

Of course, that excludes most digital distribution services, and fuck , but there needs to be a better word for "digital distribution service."

I was thinking of getting Shovel Knight for Wii U but it's the kind of game we play on the road. I've been waiting for a sale so I could get it on all our 3DS systems.

Of course the last 3DS is having trouble logging in now. The eShop is probably getting hit hard.

I was under the impression that the "Nintendo eShop must-haves" would be discounted, but they just look to be promoted on the front page of the eShop.  Kind of disappointing.
