Crap, the week is halfway gone and I still haven't reloaded on Eshop credit at Best Buy. In case people don't know, they are 10% off this week and they give double bonus points if you are a GCU member.
It's what their investors have been pushing them to do for years now and you can only say no so long when you're losing money and that's hugely profitable.

doubt anyone would need more then a 64. got a 32 and got tons of room
I could see it happening. I filled a 32GB, switched to a 64GB, and I feel I will probably one day max out the 64GB. Of course, I wouldn't need to keep every single thing I own and could delete stuff I've finished... It's just fun to have everything on there.

I think it's awesome having access to everything on one console, but what stops me from going all digital is that you can never sell anything, ever, unless you just sell your console and NNID with everything on it.

why would you delete the items are gone forever right. did not know you can redownload them. did that change

Well, you'd delete because you're out of room, but no, they're not gone forever, and that was never the case. You've always been able to redownload stuff. They even have a tool built into the OS where you can back your save from a game up onto your SD card. Then you can safely delete the game while keeping your save, and when you redownload it, it automatically asks if you'd like to restore your old save you had backed up.

The official maximum SD card size is 32GB, so they have to have systems in place for deleting and redownloading. What you can't do is pick up a second 3DS, log in, and download stuff. The only way to do that is to transfer your entire account from one 3DS to another.

Just the way things are going, I guess. This will probably be the last console generation where we can actually resell stuff. I'm okay with it. I still have a box of games I need to sell and a billion more to play and sell. I think I'd rather just be done with all that. I am not that hard up for money. I usually get great deals on things digitally (particularly on Steam and PSN). I'd prefer that, than decent (probably not as good) deals on physical items and the time/energy of reselling.

Seriously, the eShop already has enough problems streaming 1 to 5 minute trailers, and they are doing it for two 25 minute episodes?

They should just dump them on the Nintendo Video app with the other usual junk.

New Releases:

Excave II: Wizard of the Underworld - $10.00

Story of Seasons - $39.99

Updates:

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Update Ver. 1.3

Pokemon Omega Ruby Update Ver. 1.3

Pokemon X Update Ver. 1.4

Pokemon Y Update Ver. 1.4

I don't care for the free-to-play Pokemon games, but I don't think they're particularly scummy. If there's a little kid playing, then the parents should have set a parental lock in the first place. That way they can't make purchases or even play certain games without direct consent.

I started up Pokemon Shuffle and the recharge time (30 minutes) to get a new heart is a killer. For me, Treasures of Montezuma Blitz/Arena on Vita did it much better where it's something shorter like five minutes so that you can earn an extra play or two while using them up and don't have to take extended breaks.

Boxboy! looks fun, I do like how Nintendo announces stuff via their Directs that they put up on the eShop soon after.

You will potentially wait months and months to save $2 on a game you want? Your CAG meter is through the roof.
haha, yes, I'm a real CAG!!!!

Seriously now, though, if I buy it now, I wouldn't play it until months later. Have way more interesting games on 3DS that I haven't played.

Xeodrifter is quite hard, which is mostly due to lack of frequent checkpoints and having little opportunity to refill your health. Those two issues are only addressed before boss fights and at save points on the ship.

I personally thought Xeodrifter was a little on the easy side. Yeah, there aren't many checkpoints. But I didn't really feel like they were needed. I 100% the game in about 3 hours. I was a little disappointed in how short it was. But I had a great time playing it and think it's one of the better eshop games I've played. I really don't think it's worth $10, just because of how short it is. But it was easily worth the sale price. I definitely recommend it if it goes on sale again.

Got $20 eShop credit at Best Buy yesterday. Got those Photos with Mario cards. I was tempted to get all 3 and spend an additional $9, but then I told myself I can probably just print those cards off online.

And that I probably won't mess with those things after 20 minutes.

If you get 20 mins out of them that's 15 more than I did :)

I forgot to get any last week, let's hope I don't immediately regret it. I got all three cards last time they were on sale since I was going to buy $30 of credit anyway.

Here are the new deals for today:

Citizens of Earth - $9.99 - 33% Off - Ends 4/13

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked - $14.99 - 50% Off - Ends 4/20

Most systems have a demo for Citizens of Earth. That said, it's a bit on the short side but it should get you acquainted with the offbeat humor, pokeymans style citizen collecting, and the Earthbound-esque style.

Well, it's odd for SMT to be on sale AFTER all of the other Atlus games, and I'm a little unhappy it waited to go on sale, but here it is. Plus, I bought Soul Hackers on a whim and have been pleasantly surprised with it.

I'm tempted to try out Citizens on Earth. Any impressions?
It's a good spin on the Earthbound formula with some of the same issues (grinding, lots of enemies to fight or avoid as you explore) and some cool new things (recruiting people for your party that can provide various features like fast travel, difficulty control, and other things). The one issue I had was that the map is too dense with information for it to not have a zoom option.

Oh geez, Louise! I still have to get the first one, but this news is depressing!

Is Level 5 the new Zynga?
I think it's more just the Japanese market (a lot of devs there have either gone partially or fully into the mobile space) and that it sounds like they're mostly recycling a lot of it. But if they're calling it Fantasy Life 2 then there's probably little to no chance of a proper sequel.

Eh, I don't understand why Level 5 thinks every game needs 17 sequels. Don't get me wrong, I love their games, but they milk things just as bad as Ubi & Activision.

WHERE MY NI NO KUNI 2?!? Ya know, while we're on the subject and all.

Can't knock the hustle… I'm just glad that Level 5 is still in business. I will love them eternally for their PS2 era gems.

I seem to remember the 3DS version having some horrible game-crashing bugs at launch, have they fixed those?
think it was on all systems. Dont know if they ever fix it cause it happen at random. That is why you must save alot. I had the bug happen to me all the time when i first started playing but then it never happen again

I liked watching Attack on Titan on the DS. But those two episodes are literally the stuff of a child's nightmares. It's quite jarring on the eshop and really doesn't belong. Did NOA really think it through when putting it up there?

You're missing the other big news, Layton 7 is also going to be a mobile game.

And putting Attack on Titan on the video channel just seems odd to me. I understand you're trying to promote the game, and that's a good idea, but yeah, it's pretty gruesome for kids.

I totally missed that.  To be fair though there's really nothing about Layton that would necessarily be compromised by being on mobile unlike the expectations for Fantasy Life.  Still sucks but could still be good and get an eShop port at some point.

Parental controls ideally but parents are dumb.  It's an adult show for adults and everyone complains when Nintendo's perceived as being too kiddy and keeping adult content off their platforms.

Sadly, more often than not, this is just BIG business. The programmers very rarely have any say in what gets done, unless your a Miyamoto and then you have "some" pull, but not always final say.

This is why we get groups like Treasure, who become fed up with making the same games over and over again, just to bring in revenue and break off and start their own companies. I personally don't mind a creative and well thought out sequel, but video games while better than Hollywood, still way over do sequels.

They pretty much take a money making franchise, bleed it dry(ruin it), and then move on. Kojima is a very talented producer, and while I'm sure I'm in the minority here, Metal Gear should have stopped years ago. Part 4 on the PS3 was a HUGE disappointment to me. Does Konami still make any other games anymore?

Snatcher is one of my all time favorite games(played and finished it over 5 times), and while I don't want it bled dry, I would love to see it revisited with today's technology. Since Snatcher would never bring in MG money to Konami, it doesn't get made. That may very well be for the best, but who knows?

ITT: People who thought Attack on Titan was for adults.

It's published in a magazine with covers like this:

Spoiler alert: Attack on Titan is aimed at pre-teen boys.
