I installed the free theme. It didn't seem terribly interesting, just being a bunch of weapons. I was hoping for, well, you know, a monster or something. Silly me.

Can anybody post screenshots?

Thanks. I'm disappointed too, but I think this is the only theme that's been free in the US besides the Sonic Boom one, so I guess I'll take it.

Buncha ingrates.
Personally I'm still disappointed that I didn't get the bonus theme just because I pre-ordered the physical edition instead of the digital one.

I mean, sure, I got the felyne pin, and sure, it set me back a net total of under $5, but darn it, I still pre-ordered!

i really hope your joking, i thought it was the biggest joke of a demo.
Agreed. I'm likely going to pick it up at retail ($24 after GCU at Best Buy), but the demo was appalling. Not much explanation, and really limited. You can tell basically no effort went into it.

That said, I beat both the Intro and Expert levels. The key is to use your power ups. You won't finish Expert otherwise.

Still, I suck at the game since I can't figure out the moving pieces around mechanics properly.

Capcom already released some other themes on the Theme Shop that are more in line with what it seems like some of you wanted, but Capcom obviously isn't going to give those out for free.

I think the demo already assumed you know how to play Puzzle and Dragon. While it is fair to say making matches is the goal, there is more to it than that. You don't make just one match. You need to make several in a turn, then have combos happen also, ideally. When you need to heal to regain HP, you do so. Abilities of your party can be triggered when needed to aid you in your turn. Facing an opponent of a fire type? You can turn all your gems of a certain color to water gems, so you can make good matches to kill the fire enemy.

Shin Megami Tensei IV is 50% off, down to $14.99.  Didn't see it mentioned.

Edit: Until 11:59 a.m. ET on May 11

Personally, I like the MH theme.  It has some unique sounds and is a lot better than just the generic ones the 3DS comes with.  My problem was finding where to get the damn thing.  On the plus side of that, I found I can also turn off the Wi-Fi on the new 3DS.  Now the battery doesn't suck!

I picked up Fairune on sale; I found it worth $2 for sure, but I'm not sure about any more than 3. (One thing that annoyed the shit out of me was when I went for the "beat the game within one hour" achievement. I finished in EXACTLY one hour... and didn't get the achievement.)

You... you can do that with any 3DS.

SteamWorld Dig is $4.49! Wooo! Been waiting for something good to go on sale from my want-list.
Is this version any different content-wise than the other versions? I have it for PC (GOG.com) but haven't dug in (hah) much since I play my handhelds during my long bus commutes.

I agree, I think it's quite a bit better than the two paid MH ones. I added it to the rotation of MGS3, Xenoblade and Zelda ones I have.

The Attack on Titan episodes for the new game are up on the eShop now if you want to watch them.

Just a heads up, if you're thinking about:

Angry Birds Star Wars - $14.99 - 50% Off - Ends 5/11

You might want to look in your local Five Below. Found the 3DS and Wii versions there this afternoon, along with Regular Show, Beyblade, and last year's FIFA offerings in the 3DS games.

when you say last year what year was that.. I dont think there was a 2014

I don't believe so as it's the original version. Not sure if the others got anything added to them other then trophies on PSN.

I'm thinking of getting
- Art of Balance TOUCH!
- Nano Assault EX!
for the 3DS

they are both currently 25% OFF, have they been cheaper before?

Maybe 2013. I usually don't even look at sports titles.
I don't think it was FIFA that at was at Five Below. The one near me had PES 2013, both the 3DS and Wii versions.

I could be wrong but I think both of those have been 50% off in the past.

So does Nintendo just pretend the virtual console doesn't exist on the 3ds?
Unless it's old Gameboy/NES pretty much. I don't know why they didn't perfect GBA and SNES for 3DS. That would give it a huge edge kind of like how the Vita can play PSX games. A huge missed opportunity if I ever saw one.

Yeah, year and a half account, small number of transactions, a neg, and recent name change. Not worth it for a fin.....
And it's not like these are games that have been printed on redemption cards at some point and some seller bought a giant box of them or something.

Eh, 98% with almost 60 positive raitings.  I've been  on ebay for 9 years and I don't even have 60 ratings.  Anyway, I was the guinea pig and it worked fine.  I'm happy with the 2 games I got.

How do you think the seller got those codes? Unless they somehow got them wholesale they're taking a pretty big hit on them.

I know I'm late to the party, but I'm having a blast with SteamWorld Dig. Can't believe I've slept on this game for so long, one of my top three eshop games easily. It's such a simple concept, but surprisingly deep and addictive. Anybody have any suggestions for other eshop games I should check out?

Which is what makes it hella shady.

ALL OF THEM! Depends what kind of games you want from the eShop. If you want more Metroid inspired stuff there's Xeodrifter and Shantae (both from Wayforward).

I need to go back and actually play Steamworld Dig beyond the few minutes I played with it, I know it's great and don't want to get half way in and get distracted so I haven't yet.

Zombie Panic is rough but I enjoyed the two levels I've played of it well enough. A nicely produced low budget Sin and Punishment.

I'm not hot on Steamworld Dig. If it's your first "dig, climb, sell, repeat" game then by all means. It's brutally addictive but there's not much to it beyond that. If you are inoculated against the formula then it won't respark anything you liked about it. Note it is also on Steam.

When the Etrians go on sale again, remember this: EOU is good. EO4 is better. EOU is perfectly worth getting AFTER EO4.

I think they said something about the 3DS just not being able to emulate SNES games (something to do with the VC wrapper). GBA is clearly possible, but I'm guessing it just requires way too much work per game, so they brought 'em over to the Wii U instead for the touchpad (and hoping it might be another reason to buy one maybe?).

Sort of like how the Vita should be able to play PS2 Classics, but Sony doesn't want it to.

*grumble*
