Friend versions? Seriously? Who would complete a talk event with a JRPG girl without entering romance? What good are they otherwise?
As far as I can tell the "Friend versions" only happen when you haven't been doing their path but still pick them for the festival/dance/whatever

Fair enough. Shorter to type than "Idiot/gay/eunuch/"I forgot their names I can't tell these bitches apart without seeing their hair color they all have the same damn animu face anyway." versions"

Guess this is my last chance for Yu-Gi-Oh..

Pros:
+Cheap
+It's Yu-Gi-Oh

Cons
-Massively gimped
-All cards unlocked from start (I actually like building up and earning more powerful cards; gives a sense of progression like an RPG)

I really wish they had ported the new Yu-Gi-Oh game to Vita. Yu-Gi-Oh and handhelds go hand in hand.
Crap, I forgot to download Yu-Gi-Oh. :(

It's that bad huh?

I know the PS4 version is better and has online play, but I'd probably only ever play it solo to begin with.  Having it on a handheld is more convenient as well.

On the one hand, all the cards are unlocked from the start so you can at least use it to mess around with some older cards if you wanted. On the other hand, the AI is pretty bad even on Experienced. Lots of relying on Mirror Force to save them.

Also, if you know the IRL game, it only goes up to Shadow Specters. If you don't, that's nothing from the past 2 years-ish (that's all of the current anime and a big chunk of the previous one), which is huge.

If you want a good handheld experience, you'd be much better off buying the PS4 version and using Remote Play.

Ah, thanks for the info.

Also, that Remote Play idea is fantastic. I did recently acquire a Vita... hmm....

If Devil Summoners hits $10, I'll be jumping on that one as well. Glad I'm stocking up on cheap backlog games now for all the travelling I have planned over the holidays.

There's also a demo for the new DBZ game, though for some reason they didn't bother to record an English track for the game. You get 4 playable characters (Goku, Kid Gohan, Vegeta, and Majin Buu) and 8 Z-Assist characters (Tien, Hercule, Mercenary Tao, Korin, Great Saiyaman, Turtle, Recoome, and Majuub.

Played the Yo-Kai Watch demo for about an hour this morning.

It combines elements of Pokemon, and there is also bug-catching and fish-catching. It looks like you can assemble a force of custom Yo-Kai, although in the demo you are limited to a pre-selected party. You can catch other Yo-Kai in the demo, but it won't let you use them. I had so much fun playing the demo, but I made myself beat it so that I could look forward to playing the game.

If you enjoy Pokemon, I can't imagine you wouldn't like Yo-Kai.

I may actually get it day one.

What's with the limited uses though? How does that work? I downloaded it last night but didn't want to mess with it until I found out. I've been playing Future Fight on iOS but I could use another 3DS game since Happy Home let me down (well it didn't let me down, it just didn't have the replay value I was hoping for).

Same as all demos. You can start it that maany times.

You can't save during the demo (and most/all demos?), so you want to finish your playing before exiting. I finished it in about an hour, but only because I made myself do so. There seemed plenty to mess around with, but because of the limited functionality of the demo, some of the extra things I was doing (catching bugs, fish, and Yo-Kai) weren't as interesting as they would be in the full game, I imagine. I couldn't incorporate my newly-caught Yo-Kai, and there were no collection menus I could look at. That functionality was disabled for the purpose of the demo.

Yeah, this is Nintendo's innovation to the current gen. Proper accounts, trophies/achievements, region free, they couldn't be bothered with any of these things that might actually improve the gaming experience.

Instead, they have added limited uses, to an already limited "demo". So instead of being able to try a single level, or 5% of a game as many times as you would have liked, now you need to actually plan, and think about how and when you may play a "demo". Damn, what happened to these guys?

Really hate the limited demo use. It urges me to save them and everytime I play a demo, I'm forcing myself to make as much use of the demo as I can. This kinda takes away some of the enjoyment. To be honest, any games that bought after demoing never had more than 5 uses. Nintendo should get rid of the demo use and let people really enjoy demos. If you are playing a demo over and over again, you know you really want the game. Go buy it!

That's more a reason for the demo limits than against. It's probably exactly what they were thinking, too.

I'm sorry, but having a limit to a demo is just about the dumbest shit I've seen in about 30+ years of video gaming. There are many things that can be argued or debated about many things in the industry, but there is just no way this can be defended, unless you are just doing so out of spite to the logic of it all.

A demo by definition is "limited", so why does it need to be limited more? Why not add a timer as well? You now have 5:00 minutes to finish said level, how would that make you feel? Yeah, as dumb as that sounds, is just as dumb as these limits are.

Honestly, RE Revelations was probably my most played demo out of any one on the 3DS, and I knew I wanted to buy it after the second run through, so yeah it's doubtful that any real buyer would need more than 5 uses, but what about someone who doesn't have the funds to currently buy the game? Why not allow that kid or adult to play the hell out of the demo? What does it hurt in the end?

At the end of the day, they are not forcing anyone to buy a game, they wouldn't have bought anyway, are they are doing is pissing of fans, and non fans alike doing something that has no logical explanation, PERIOD!

You do realize that Sony does exactly that with timed trials, right?

Who exactly are you arguing with?

As a broke kid, I would just play the hell out of demo discs, often never even buying the games of demos I thought were fun. I guess now they want you to just make a decision on whether to eat or buy their game. MAKE A CHOICE!!!

I've never really done a demo on the 3DS.  I did Bravely's (I believe) because it was supposed to unlock additional content.  I'm guessing this isn't the same.  It's already on my buy list but I'd hate to bore myself with the game on a demo (especially if you can't really DO anything in the demo).

I like how you encounter them, but I don't like the battle system that much.
Really? I'm sorry. I enjoyed the battle system. I was amused by the dog, cat, and kappa the most. And the old lady and her love slap. It was like being able to switch Pokemon in a party, but far, far, easier.

Have to admit, it was a little odd having a little old lady in my battle party. :)

EO4 and Devil Survivor Overclocked are so tempting. Wonder if they'll ever go 75% off or if I should buy now...

Rcerboss alt?

If someone manages to use all allotted uses of a demo, what's stopping them from deleting it and redownloading it?  If nothing, then problem solved?

Demo uses are related to your NNID. Demo uses won't ever refill unless you use a different NNID which requires another 3ds.

Anyone know if they are planning untold versions of all the Etrian Odyssey games? or just the ds ones?   Also, im assuming there's no reason to play them out of order?

EO games are all stand alone. No reason to play them in order.

No announcement for any EOUs beyond EO2U but no negative announcement either.

How are saves handled on the 3ds, for downloadable titles? If my 3ds breaks can i get the game save off it?

The system records the number of times you've played an application. Even if you redownload it, it won't change your personal record.

Ok, thanks. I know there are a few unlimited use demos out there (MH4U among others) but they are few and far between. Anyway I usually know within 1-3 times of playing a demo whether I will be buying a game so it doesn't usually effect me.

Seems likely that they'll finish the set and make an Etrian Odyssey III Untold, but that would probably be it.
I believe that's the case. The main way you would probably consider playing them out of order is 4 before the Untold games because it's going to be the oldest mechanically. 1U and 2U both built on mechanics introduced in 4 and then added their own stuff on top of it.

They're on the memory card but not sure if you could just move copy the saves from one to another without a system transfer.

Damn it Atlus, take my money for EOIV and maybe Conception 2. I'm glad I stocked up on eShop money last time Besy Buy had a sale.

Conception 2 looks hilarious, any thoughts on the gameplay or does the weird concept get annoying quickly?
Persona knockoff; borders on being too quirky/pervy w/o crossing it; dungeons get EXTREMELY boring 1/2 way through b/c they all look the same w/palette swaps.
