Yeah the level D and up Youkai are where it's at. A lot of the E ones are pretty generic guys. I recently got a guy who looked like Electabuzz.

Only the hammer practice stage was easy to grab a bunch of badges. It has been the crane one ever since making it hard to get more than 1 free play. I noticed how the crane is so oversized, making it hard to grab any small badges. It doesn't grab any big badges either and seems to slip on any badges that doesn't have a dent for it to grab on. This is just as bad as any real crane scams. I'm not spending any money on it unless it comes with a neat theme.

The one after the hammer wasn't bad because it was slanted and you could easily knock out the supporting ones and get the rest to fall in. Yesterday's was just stupid where you it took me all the plays to just get them shifted enough to get a couple.

You all do realize that you also get any badges that get knocked/fall into a hole without the crane grabbing them, right?
Yep, got a bunch extra that way in practice and on the real machine. It's a good tactic for some of the set ups.

I'm actually gotten obsessed about the Splatoon badges. Completed 6 of those sets already.

It gets even more wasteful since I try to keep everything on the first screen, so I can only see about a dozen icons.

There's also one that gives 3 free plays, I got it the other day.

Also I may have already put $4 into this, but the free themes made it worth it..........I guess I am now part of the free to play problem :)
Yeah, I got the 3 plays token too. I also got 1 free play for getting 10+ badges out of the practice machine at once.

I think the game is rigged honestly. First try on the badge machine I cleared the whole thing, first try on the practice machine I cleared that too.

Nintendo Badge Arcade is offering a free play to celebrate the Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary with a chance for more from the practice catcher. There's a new Explosive catcher on one of the Mario boards that lets you drop bombs on the badges.

I gave them $1 today, but I didn't do very well trying to get the Splatoon badges. Those seemed harder to get than the others I had tried to get before. I like them, but I've yet to do much with them.

Pro tip for today's practice game: I went for the boot one on the left and that cleared the left side and then the chain chomp one took out the rest.  Was able to clear it twice that way.

Stupid Squenix only putting their CEs on their store.

tumblr_nxu75qPqFc1qzp9weo1_1280.jpg

I would buy some of their CEs if they were available at BBY or Amazon.

Yeesh; today's Badge practice is brutal. I failed four times before giving up and going for the one closest to the hole. Only got one badge, it wasn't a winner, and no bonus free plays.

One bonus play.  Then I went back to my Mario Badges and dropped them... repeatedly.  It says last day so I said "screw it" and gave them 2 more dollars.  After 5 more drops I finally (10 tries) managed to get 5 badges and walked away.  BUT upon checking my "completion" I found that those badges didn't even count in the same set (though they look identical).

UGH.

So yea, this badge thing is going a bit overboard and I think I may have to ween myself off until it's better organized/defined.

Hoenstly, since I have already gotten most of the App Badges, I typically only try to get ones I really, really want. I already have way, way more badges than necessary and I am not going for 100% completion.

So apparently if you do really bad (get no badges in practice mode) the bunny pities you and gives you a redo.

I still think EOU is a fundamentally worse game than EO4 and EO2U for numerous reasons but a weak EO game is still gonna give value on your 10 bux.

I am frustrated it spoils the twist of the final dungeon in the OPENING CUTSCENE but then again at the same time it's like spoiling who the killer is in Persona 4.

Answering the question who is the killer in P4? is surprisingly difficult. A lot of ways it could turn out.

HE DID NOTHING WRONG. IT WAS THOSE WOMENS FAULT. SLUUUUUUUUUUUUTS

Psh, you know who the SPOILER is. The game is so old that it's hardly a spoiler at this point. You'd be spoiled if you paid attention at all to P4AU and P4DAN anyway.

Which is what I was getting at. EO1 is so old that spoiling it in the remake to go for a funkier story is a legit play but it still strikes me as silly.

Also at just 10bux off you're not winning on EO2U. The time release free DLC is now all paid so it's a worse deal now than had you paid the Fatlus tax on release, like missing so many exclusive preorders. You have to wait for a better deal on it no matter how good it is (And I'm not far enough to rule authoritatively but it seems better than EO1U so far which puts it at extremely good, tentatively.) just on principle because of that crap.

Yeah, I didn't do well on the practice catcher either. I ended up with 3 at the end, and it awarded me a bonus play.

I ended up giving the game another dollar because I wanted those Animal Crossing app launchers. I didn't get all of them, though. That FINAL DAY text pressured me. Grr. I have to try to hold back my monies.

Shhhh....Persona 4 is the next game on my backlog (after finishing Tales of Zestiria, MGSV, and Fallout 4).  So, like...in 2 years, probably.

Me: OK, no more money is to be spent at Badge Arcade.

*Nintendo puts up Pokemon, Pikmin, Rhythm Heaven, and Pushmo badges.*

Me: DAMMIT! >_

Yea, supposedly Pokemon is all this week due to release of PSMD.  Those buggers cost me 4 bucks today but I got all of them.  And then a couple extra Mario v. Donkey Kong ones with the remainder.

Edit:

Can someone confirm if the Pokemon themes for Poke:SMD are for digital preorder/purchase only?  Do you know if the theme was later released for sale in Japan?

Well they got me to put in a dollar so I could get Mewtwo. Not too bad since the free plays and $1 netted my a complete fighting set, psychic set and a couple eeveelutions. My home screen is now awesome and will continue to get awesome throughout the week!

You've got to admit that Nintendo is right up there with their ability to make Skinner boxes. Just wait for their mobile apps!

Yea, but I really wanted the Poke Mystery Dungeon theme (the green one) to go with all my new stamps.  But I don't really wanna pay premium for digital.  Seems silly to pay $40 for a digital game (that I can't trade in or hand off to the kid) when I could buy the physical copy at Best Buy for $32.

Once I get my Poke set though, I'm done with the badges, I can see this costing money if I go into "collect'm all" mode.

Jokes on them, I don't play mobile games. I think the only reason this one managed to get any money from me was being able to display my favorite Pokemon on the home screen. If Mewtwo wasn't there, they would have gotten nothing.

No Pokemon system icons though? Boourns.  Guess I have to go after the Pikmin ones instead.

Edit- OH I JUST GOT SO SCREWED.  Had one and it snagged on another and lost the entire thing.

So I can't figure out how to make the 3DS use some of my new app badge launchers. Like, it recognizes that my Tom Nook badge launches the eShop, but I can't seem to get rid of the normal eShop button. Something I'm doing wrong?
