I was at FYE today and all their new Gamecube and Xbox games were half off the lowest sticker price. New GBA games are also half off. I'm not sure if it's nationwide, but it might be worth checking out. I only picked up Baten Kaitos Origins for $10.

At my local FYE it was also Game Boy Advance Games 50% off with the XBOX and Cube. It is supposed to be New games only, but I was able to scarf up some used games as well.

Ah, crap. I was hoping to save some money this week. Oh, well. :)

Thanks, OP. I'll have to check this out.

I will be going to the mall this weekend so I will be checking this out, however my FYE never has any of the deals that are going so I am not holding my breath.

Everyone listen up, so I can put an end to the "Is this YMMV?" repeats. This sale is nationwide. It is going on until January 31, 2009. These are facts. This means every store in this country has this sell going on. This is for the XBOX, Gamecube, and Game Boy Advance games only. I personally have been to at least 5 different FYE's.

Well... if that's the case, then I'd call this a clearance rather than a sale. 50% until January? Yeah, that's nothing but a way to finally move the damn things out.

Glad to see they're finally looking to move this inventory. The last time they had an Xbox game 'sale', everything was still priced at their ridiculous used prices. I think they realized nobody is going to pay $20.00 for a used copy of Madden 03.

Picked up Xbox BMXXX (wanted it for the collection) for $5 as well as GC Donkey Conga 2 (also $5). Those were the 2 that jumped out at me, might have to go back and check out all the racks. I saw, but passed on Sphinx. I may have to go back and pick that up.

Just picked up, with 50% off applied-

Final fastasy V (GBA)- $7.49 - used but mint
Capcom classics mini mix (GBA)- $5 - new
Pacman collection (GBA)- $5 - new

Was thinking about getting Wolfenstein 3D (GBA), but it was 19.99 used, so it would be $10, i passed, but would of got if it was $5.

Somebody talked about porn here ??

Picked up Astro Boy: Omega Factor and Gunstar Super Heroes for $15. Two treasure games for so cheap is....totally awesome.

Really? Treasures? I have seen both of them for $10 for many months up until about May/June of this year. I even bought GSH because it looks like a SNES game, good game, but a treasure?

I went to this, but it was not happening in my FYE, so its not nationwide. They convienently removed all the games that would have been on sale just before the sale started. I checked the price of one lone GBA game that I found with the self scanner and there was no discount, just regular price.
bigdaddy: Treasure is the name of a company, I should have capitalized it in my post. They are well known these days for Ikaruga, Sin and Punishment, Bangai-O Spirits, generally shooter-style games.

Ohhhh... OK, yeah GSH is a fine game for $10, but it's far from a treasure. :D

This is why I don't bother going to FYE, useless store. i might stop in if I'm bored but I have never bought anything from them.
My FYE in gaithersburg, MD had a written sign that said it also applies to USED games. Just to let you all know!
How's the selection up there? I go to the one in Frederick, and they hardly have any good cube games.

My store was a bust. Went to buy a used XBox game. Scanned at full price at checkout. Employee had no idea about the sale. Had to show the employee the numerous signs advertising the sale throughout the game section. The employee didn't know how to take the discount off, so he went to the back When he came back, the employee told me his manager said the sale applies to New items only. Would've argued, but even after an expected 50% discount, the game was still priced a bit to high, so it wasn't worth it.

Is Megaman Zero 3 rare or something? There is a copy at an FYE near me, and I was debating buying it...and some dude is trying to sell a sealed copy on eBay for like $150.

I was in FYE on Friday, and the signs in the store all indicated that the sale applies to new games.

The FYE in the mall here in Greenwood, IN don't even have video games anymore seems like they got rid of them about a year ago.

Picked up:

Silent Hill 4: The Room (XB) - $4.99
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (XB) - $4.99
Xiaolin Showdown (XB) - $4.99

I'm going to have to check out my two local FYE's that still have games and see if this is going on there. If so, I may pick up a few Xbox games I've wanted to play, but never wanted to pay $20-30 for.
I got Twilight Princess for $25, and Guilty Gear for xbox for $2.50. :D
:applause: Nice! I missed that one @ TRU for $7.98, which is the only reason I took a visit to my local FYE, but alas, it was gone. However, I did manage not to leave empty handed:

Pokemon Channel (GC) - $5
Virtua Quest (GC) - $5
Outrun 2 (XB) - $4
Defender (XB) - $4
Robotech Battlecry LE (XB) - $10

Definately heading back to take a closer look, as I had to look quickly thanks to my break time running out. Thanks OP for the headsup!

I stopped by the 2 FYEs near me, the sale was on new only there as well, I had an employee scan/total out a used game to check. Not a great selection, but i managed to pick up FFVI advanced for 14.99 and Elder Scrolls Morrowind GOTY edition for 4.99

The games don't scan in at 50% off. The discount is applied at the register once the cashier hits the "Total" button. The SKUs aren't adjusted to the discount, so scanning items will show their full price.

The two closes one are a bit of a drive for me, if i only knew what games they have it might be worth the drive over there.

Shot by a few FYE's and picked up quite a few good games new:

FF V advance GBA - $15
FF VI advance GBA - $15
Wario Ware Twisted GBA - $10
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team - $15

Mario Party 6 GC - $15
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - $25
Baten Kaitos Origins - $10
Odama - $10

Even picked up one Xbox game that I had no idea existed. I saw Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance for Xbox and got it for $5. I thought MGS series was only on Sony systems, with the exception of the Twin Snakes on GC. I haven't even checked if it's backwards compatible w/ my xbox 360 yet though.

It's not, sadly enough. I had that version, and really liked it more than the PS2 version, but got rid of it after my Xbox broke down and I switched to 360.

eh, oh well, maybe they'll patch it? who knows. would have been neat to try. I only played the original PS2 version, MGS2 Sons of Liberty.

I wish my FYE kept the prices on games updated so I wouldn't miss potential deals. (for example, Odama is still marked as $50)
There are still GBA accessories lying around.
At least the TV tuner is gone (still full price last time I checked because it was long OOS!)
