A question about cell phone plans

So i was browsing newegg and noticed you could get cell phone plans with at&t.

So the phones there get a discount w/ 2 year plan making most free while the at&t site has the same plan but the phones do not come out free. Some are 30 and others need MIR's.

So why is it the the newegg way gets you a greater discount on the phone?

Why aren't you going with Sprint? $100 a month for 2 lines with unlimited EVERYTHING. Check FW.
