I'm interested in getting new tv. I gotten a ps4 from bestbuy I was not sure if my old tv would work or not. One employee said it would with the ps3 AV cables, but I looked it up when I got home and yeah not doable. I don't blame the guy probably not into games and my fault for not looking beforehand. I was surprised they had so many ps4 when I got there. Guess they stocked up for the sale.

I did find a way to play ps4 on old tv by using a rca to hdmi converter, but wth the deals going on I'd figured if there is a good tv on sale I'll upgrade.. It'll be a big upgrade seeing as my current tv is the boxy JVC kind. Luckily it's not too big so easily removed, but still pain compared to new tvs.

My parent's has a phillips flat screen not exactly sure what kind it is. I believe it's 31 or 32 inches.

I'm looking for either 24" 27" or 32inches around that range in size. The tv will be in my bed room.

The space for the tv is 33nches or so long I can adjust some things to give more space if needed. My bed is about 53inches from my big Jvc tv. Not sure if any of this info will help on figuring out what size to get. atm using a stand not able to mount.

I was wondering which brand is good quality picture wise and quality in not dying after using the tv four times.. I've seen some good deals, but not sure if they're good brand wise so hoping to get people's opinions on it. Also how are their customer service if you had to use it.

I don't mind if it is smart tv or is not smart tv. Is smart tv any good or benefit to watching tv or playing videogames?

I mainly want it to watch dvds/blu rays and play my ps4 and wii u games on also still using my ps3 still have a few games I need to finish on it. Would it be better to get a non smart tv since I don't really plan to use the smart features?

I've looked up various reviews and hard to decide.
These three samsung seem like good price wise, but not sure on samsung brand never had samsung tv before.

Is Sony tv better or samsung? or should I go for a different brand.

Would I be able to connect directtv and my ps4 and wii u or will I need to change out the ps4 hdmi cable to play wii u. I don't mind doing that if need be.

I'm thinking of either these three tv that are on sale, but open to other recommendations.

or should I pay bit more for the 32inch one. I'm not sure. I'm leaning to either the 28 one or 32" size.

Another 32inch one has three hdmi ports instead of two.

I would go with Samsung over Sony if those are the two main brands you're thinking about getting. Sony's quality has been on the decline from everything I've heard, while Samsung is supposed to be pretty good. I would also recommend getting at least a 32 inch screen for the distance you'll be sitting from it.

I wouldn't worry about paying extra for another HDMI input. That TV is an extra $50, and It'd be cheaper to just get an HDMI switch if you need to plug a bunch of stuff into it.

Thanks I do rather spend bit less if possible already spent good bit on ps4 and some good books still gotta get GTA V since it's on decent deal.  What brand of HDMI switch to get? If not sure no problem I'll research and read on it. No rush to get it.

Is smart tv something I should get. I'm not really into netflex and stuff if I want to use it I could use it with my ps4. I'm fine with plain tv unless smart tv improves quality of the tv.

These two are ones I'm thinking on.

Thanks for the help. Is the sound on the samsung decent some says it's not good, but other reviews are happy and says sound is good. Maybe they have higher expectations for the sound?

I'm sure the Samsung speakers are probably fine for what you want. No built-in TV speakers will ever be as good as having a separate audio system, so expectations just have to be reasonable.

If you get it and ever want better sound, you can always add a cheap sound bar to it. I have a sound bar hooked up to mine and while I thought the TV speakers sounded ok before, the sound bar made a huge difference.

Thanks again for the help been so long since I bought a tv. My old boxy JVC has served me well and lasted long time hope my next tv lasts good bit too.

Would it be  better to wall mount it or is the stand good enough and not too wobbly? At moment if I wall mount it i'll probably do it later, but not sure on whole wall mounting.
