Akaneiro is "A free to play ARPG with classic design sense meets fast-paced action, inspired by Japanese themes and the Red Riding Hood tale."

This game has been in closed beta for a few months, but the open beta has now begun and will continue through Jan. 16.

There is a kickstarter campaign to raise money for additional features to be added for the final version.

I have been playing it a little and so far I love it. Has anyone else tried it out?

There's no pvp yet, but I'm sure they would at least consider adding it if there were enough demand for it.

Right now they seem to be trying to get a feel for which particular features are most important to different people.
 
I like the idea, but past the art style, I'm not seeing the appeal over the many other excellent action RPGs already available.

I don't think just art style is enough.
 
I thought it was a cool idea to have an ARPG with a f2p model similar to LoL where you can either purchase in-game currency or earn it through playing the game.

Most f2p games want to just give you the bare minimum for free and make you pay if you want to try any of the cooler features, so I really like the system LoL uses and hopefully Akaneiro will be the same.
