Alternatives to iTunes?

I've been looking to finally upgrade my 3G iPod to one of the newer iPod classics. The problem being is that I have been using Anapod Explorer, and it seems Red Chair Software has gone the way of the ghost and is no longer providing updates to their software.

Anapod Explorer had some amazing features that iTunes is surprisingly lacking. I especially loved it for its streaming software, in addition to its excellent windows integration. However, I am looking to see if there is any such software that has similar features that works with the newer versions of the iPod. Are there any available alternatives to iTunes either free or pay that have similar features to Anapod Explorer?

Although I haven't tried it, there's Songbird (http://www.songbirdnest.com) which is a free open source media player. It looks kinda neat, but it's still in a pre-1.0 release stage right now. Their support page says it works with iPods via an add on (http://www.songbirdnest.com/support/#8)
