Looks like it was better last year because they grouped all the sales into one massive one instead of spreading it out this year making it seem smaller. They didn't even match all the prices of their competitors.
 
Quick question: Does a claimed lightning deal stay active even if I log out of my account? I know that if it sells out and I haven't made the order, I'm screwed, but I want to wait for the next few deals to see if I can get free shipping.

After I ordered TWEWY I got an email saying I qualified for $5 in credit on select TV shows on Amazon Video On Demand.

Me too. I fucked this up on Batman and now I can't get the deal price back. It says claimed but I can't get the lightning deal price in my cart.

Just add the item to the cart from its usual page. It should show the special price on the cart (at least that's how I think it works).
 
Please note that the price of Magna Carta 2 has increased from $32.98 to $56.99 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart.


Maybe it'll drop again this weekend, they seemed to have marked it up for now.

I think those were added at 3 am. I don't think we'll see too many more added deals today, maybe we'll see more tomorrow. Plus I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be the day they start slashing the prices of deals that haven't sold out.

Ditto. Opera frustrated the hell out of me. I searched far and wide for the Batman deal. It popped right up in Firefox though.

All that said, I beat the main story on a rental back when it came out so I think I'll wait for the near-inevitable GOTY edition to roll out in the next year.

yeah, part of the fun is seeing what different stores have, just pming everyone feels lame.. I was really hoping Amazon would pull through tonight, but honestly, last year was a HUGE exception for Amazon-- their black Friday deals have traditionally sucked (at least, imho) but somehow last year they blew everyone out of the water. This year, the "me too"-ness of their deals make it pretty blah.

I read a comment somewhere a while back about rewarding the original store that brings us a good price, not the "followers", and in this case it makes me feel slightly better about some of my Best Buy orders-- even though I paid tax, at least Best Buy negotiated an awesome deal and I'm rewarding them with my business..

(not to say I haven't bought anything through Amazon- I have, but I don't feel like this is Amazon bringing me these awesome deals, it's like I'm cheating, sorta..!)

Well, I'm setting the alarm to be disappointed in a little less than 4.75 hours to wake up to AC1. I know I'm probably wasting my time, but I'll kick myself I don't at least try and in the small offchance that this is AC2...
 
Finally bit on DJ Hero for $95. I live in KY so I have to pay tax making it $100 plus I bumped it to Saturday delivery for $7 more (free prime trial) so I can actually have a chance to play it before I get back into the hectic work swing.

I will use the $40 code to buy a 360 wireless headset that i've been eyeballing and waiting forever for a deal to pop up. I almost passed on DJ Hero but $68 is way to good to pass up. I just hope i'll play it..... My cheapass TRY Rock Band 2 set collected dust until I sold for a profit. I was once really addicted to GH though..... At this price I can always sell it locally and still make money back though. :D
 
PSA re: Lightening Deals

If you add the deal to cart, then remove it, you cannot readd it through the LD listing. However, I've always been able to get the price by adding the game to cart normally, then going through checkout. The cart doesn't reflect the discount, but it has always appeared on the last checkout review screen for me.

This doesn't apply if they've sold out since, or anything, but in my experience you only screw yourself on the discount if you place and then cancel the order. If you haven't completed an order, the discount should still be tied to your account.

(Also, holy crap at their Fringe S1 Blu Ray pricing. Why can't they do the same for Terminator S2?)
